Jeff Sessions will not regain his old Alabama U.S. Senate seat this year. The former U.S. attorney general has lost to Tommy Tuberville, a first-time political candidate and former college football coach, in the state's Republican runoff election for the seat, The Associated Press projects. Tuberville — who was endorsed by President Trump in the GOP matchup — edged ahead of Sessions in Alabama's state primary in March but failed to secure a majority of the vote, setting up the runoff on Tuesday. The former Auburn University football coach will now face Democratic incumbent Sen. Doug Jones in November. Sessions was an

Don't get sideways with PDJT. Sessions was a decent guy and good conservative but totally failed to stand up to the swamp and caused great disruption to the MAGA agenda. He had many opportunities to expose the corruption in the DOJ, but went along to get along. Good riddance, we need fighters.

As a 'Bama fan I was always happy to see Tuberville lose but I'm glad he won this time. Sessions never should have done what he did despite being an otherwise really good guy. Roll Tuberville and Tide.

He did the bidding of the swamp and because of that, a lot of really bad people may never see justice. May he burn in eternal fires.

Jeff Sessions made a major league mistake when he did not tell President Trump beforehand that he had been harangued by the “Deep State” operatives in the Department of Justice into recusing himself from everything relating to Russia, thus eliminating the opportunity for the President to replace him with a nominee who had the guts to stand up to the “Deep State” operatives and competently and honestly perform the job of Attorney General. By doing that Sessions also opened the door for those “Deep State” operatives to initiate the Mueller investigation “witch hunt”. After that there is no way that Trump could support Sessions any further. That’s just common sense.

Session was either played as a fool, or willingly rolled over and let the criminals in DoJ, FBI, and CIA seriously harm the President.
Either way, not someone who you want back on your team.

Alabama voters are evidently recusing him.

I know Colter is mad at Trump, but what's Malkin's problem?

An Auburn grad (WDE, #2).
I voted for Sen Sessions. Coach avoided press conferences and questions and he has a suspect financial history.
Jeff Sessions is an honorable southern gentleman. We will NEVER see his honor and character again. I was in Madison when he endorsed the President, and the affection between the two of them was genuine and palatable.
One day I hope we know the back story of what happened (other than the usual tripe about a Deep State operative or coward etc)
Senator Sessions May be a lot of things, but Deep Stater or Coward he is not.
A good man who can hold his head high. It’s hard to say that about anyone today.

Mitch really wanted Sessions back. We conservatives learn that when the ESTABLISHMENT is for them, they ain’t conservative fighters. They will be nice play it safe conservatives. The Jeff Sessions types have let democrats win battle after battle for 30 years. Their cowardice has helped get us to the point where God sent us Trump. Some of those professional politicians are never going to understand or admit that. I wish Jeff a happy lobbying career.

Sessions was the most incompetent AG in history. The man was fired for a reason, and should never be hired back. Sessions stabbed Trump in the back. That is not the kind of person one ever forgives.

I agreed with the comments above (except for those at number three) but particularly sympathize with poster nine.
I believe Jeff Sessions emulated, as we were taught to, Gen. Robert Lee in sense of family, duty, purpose, and country. I also believe he did a better job in that emulation than most of us will. He is a good man and he made a good concession speech. Onward!

Jeff Sessions spent too much time in the Senate and would have been wise to stay there. He got played by the deep state, and never even fought back. He blindsided Trump by recusing himself without notifying Trump first. Once he recused himself, the deep state ran wild in DOJ until Barr showed up. Sessions may be a good man, but he was a disaster as Attorney General.

#8, Malkin's primary issue is immigration, limiting it and getting rid of illegals - very laudable, in my opinion.
Sessions was always on that side of that issue, and he asked Malkin to do a fund raising letter for him. Since they agree on that issue, she did it. Not sure she is against Trump in any way. If she is, I haven't seen it yet, maybe my ignorance, don't know what I don't know.
