If only the rest of the country could handle COVID as well as New York: That’s the lament of progressive commentators as COVID cases spike in the Sun Belt and the South.
Washington Post columnist Jennifer Rubin hailed New York City the other day after it reported no deaths for the first time during the pandemic. This is what competent government can accomplish, she gushed.
Former Obama aide Valerie Jarrett tweeted, “Short term sacrifice saves lives!!!Neera Tanden, the head of the progressive think tank the Center for American Progress, contrasted the response in Democratic states to that in Republican states: “It turns out we were lucky that this virus hit in blue

The COVID-19 virus is operating like a huge wave, sooner or later the large number of cases that started out in New York City, brought there through international air travel from China and Europe, and is now moving across the USA, hitting densely populated big cities hard. Since this is an unprecedented medical emergency, never seen in the USA in anyone’s lifetime, with even the top medical scientists playing catch up from day to day, it would be fool’s gold to believe that any politician will be able to stop that wave, that may well have started as a Chinese Communist covert bio-warfare attack against the USA and the developed world. All everyone can do is take common sense precautions to try to keep from getting infected.

Im sorry..... but destroying the economy and livelihoods of 330 taxpayers per covid "related" death isnt a short term sacrifice. Its massive overkill.
What, in hindsight, should gave happened is that the vulnerable should have self quarantined. The vulnerable should wear face masks and maintain distance and avoid public places. Just like any chemo patient has to do.

They have nothing to cheer about. More people get killed or injured by bullets in this gun-controlled city than die from COVID on a daily basis.
Escape from New York, and Chicago and Baltimore... heck anywhere Democrats control it becomes Hell on Earth.
You know what the BEST way to escape Democrats?
Don't. Elect. Them!!!

Lucky the virus hit in blue states first? NY deaths: 32,371. Texas deaths: 3,127. NJ deaths: 15,500. Florida deaths: 4,102. Way to go blue states!

Heard this morning that they plan to have a vaccine in production and out for use by September. Tests are looking excellent.

Yeah, let's praise Cuomo for emptying the nursing homed of the ill and the elderly, while increasing Federal subsidies that come with Covid deaths. A great way to save state Medicare costs!
Of course, most of those deaths could have been avoided if Cuomo wasn't so stubborn and pigheaded and petty. He loudly demanded federal assistance, ventilators, and PPE from Trump. When he got it all, he refused to use the US Navy ship that Trump had sent to NYC, or the Javits Center, Central Park hospital, or any of the other field hospitals Trump provided.
Cuomo could have used those thousands of empty beds. But instead he commanded that those with Covid infection be moved from the hospital to free up beds, and moved to nursing and care homes---with no advance warning, discussion, training, PPE, review of the facilities' capabilities to deal with Covid patients.
But those nursing home patients were going to die sooner or later anyhow, right?

Subways should be renamed "DiseaseWays" or "DeathWays".
Subways, buses and other mass transit is the best possible way to spread this virus. Especially if you don't clean the vehicles every day, as Cuomo and DeBozo chose to not do.
NYC even a bigger hellhole now than it was in 2019.

I visited NYC twice in the early 70's. I was awestruck by all the famous buildings I saw. Now, you could pay me to visit that trash heap. Visit NYC at your own risk, seriously!
