President Trump has denied a request from Minnesota’s governor for money to rebuild parts of Minneapolis that were destroyed during the riots following the death of George Floyd. “The Governor is disappointed that the federal government declined his request for financial support,” Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz's office said in a statement. “As we navigate one of the most difficult periods in our state’s history, we look for support from our federal government to help us through.”Walz, a Democrat, requested that Trump declare Minnesota a “major disaster” zone in a request to the Federal Emergency Management Agency on July 2 after more than 1,500 buildings

This is analogous to letting a pre-schooler play with matches, doing nothing to extinguish the fires he sets, all while posting the escapades to twitter videos... and then asking your insurance company to cover the damages.

Yes! I was hoping he would, there must be consequences for actions, especially such irresponsible actions.

The President needs to make sure other states hear this message loud and clear. Washington, Michigan, California, do you think we're all stupid just because your voters are? Go work on balancing your state and city budgets.

Tell little Timmy Walz to go ask his radical, violence-inciting, hate-filled bigot of a daughter for the money. Real Americans shouldn't pay for the rotting dung heap you've made of Minnesota.

There is very little sympathy to be had for Minneapolis. The true victims should be asking for accountability from their local leaders and the whole lot of them, including the governor, should be recalled. But they won’t be. They will be re-elected and they will all blame Trump. Let them wallow in their burned out city.

Bravo! This is just one more reason to vote for PDT and even regular, not too radical demonrats should applaud it.
We had a couple of hours of rioting in downtown Charleston, SC the Saturday night after Floyd’s death. Store and restaurant windows on the main shopping street were smashed and there was some looting. Sunday morning, over 100 citizens showed up with equipment and cleaned up the whole street. There is still a boarded up window or two, but otherwise things are back to normal. No taxpayer funds involved.

That is the first good step. The next step should be the investigation of all the elderly deaths in the nursing homes under the democrat guidelines. Someone needs to go to jail.

#6 - I wonder who those 100 citizens were. In times of national disasters people of faith from many types of churches will go to those places and help with clean. Does the "church" see this as opportunity? Perhaps this is already happening and we are not hearing of it. At any rate, kudos to those 100.

President Trump's offer of help was immediate and would have been very effective, the National Guard troops to control the rioting and burning. Now that there is only ashes to work with, the fix is much more expensive. Congratulations, Governor Putz. New York's polite request to correct the mistakes of Cuomo and de Blunder will follow shortly when they awake from their communist wet dream and realize what they have done.

Blue state governors need to grow up and stop expecting us to clean up their self caused messes. I am sure Pelosi will try to rescue these tyrants somehow. Especially her cousin Gavin Newscum in Cali.

At the heart of this issue is that lawlessness riots, arson, and looting is okay because Ungle Sugar will go in and take care of it AFTER THE FACT, and that the WE (the American tax payer) is somehow responsible--
When Mittens Delecto appoved the NobamaCare-like plan for health in Taxichusetts, the other states WERE NOT on the hook for the money because it was a STATE ISSUE. When NobamaCare was passed on CHRISTMAS EVE after a terrible defeat in mid-terms in 2010, it made ALL STATES liable.
The over reach of the federal government INTO state business should be 1oth amendmentn issues. Demonrat socialists with their hands out should be responsible, NOT taking my taxes from Texas to pay for it!!!

It is obvious what the rebuild money would ultimately pay for - in an election year. It would be a slush fund for the left in the state of Minnesota. Nothing would be rebuilt, and all the money would be vanished from the public coffers and memory.

Trump could reach out to some of those businesses that were destroyed. Some were small black owned businesses that were just getting off the ground, and couldn't afford insurance. Some were owned by police officers. Trump could allocate money just to those people to rebuild.

I hear that BLM is pretty fat now, with large donations by business and other donors. I would advise Gov. Walz to call their office and ask for some money. Maybe hit up Antifa too!
There are plenty of multi-millionaire democrat politicians (who scrounged and saved their government paychecks to get rich- NOT!) who might throw in a couple of bucks.

These democrat mayors tell the police to stand down, let the mayhem ravage their cities and then expect others to pay for the damages and repairs caused by their own support of mob mentality. Not no, but hell no!

My understanding is that BLM thugs have collected hundreds of millions in donations....arrest them and confiscate that to rebuild the damage that they caused.

On another note why help a state that won't vote for you, President Trump, with a governor that will endorse Joe Biden? It sounds petty but that's how it works. Obama did the same for the flooding in the mid-west and just went golfing without a word about the devastation. Politics nothing but politics.

If these evil and vile lie-beral hell-hole cities wanted federal assistance, the feds were more than happy to send in the National Guard on the first day of the violent protests and riots!!!! No charge!!!
But, no, they had to let tens of thousands of rabid racist BLM and Antifa thugs destroy their city to show how "woke" they were.
Well, you bought it, you pay for it!!!

Actually, #35, the National Guard is controlled by the governors. So the idiot governor, if he had wanted to have the NG could have called them up himself, no problems at all - well, other than he was in favor of the rioting and burning and didn't want it to stop.
