Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt responded to Friday night’s breaking news that a search warrant was served and at least one gun confiscated from the St. Louis couple who defended their home last month from an angry mob by saying that the Democrat prosecutor who was handling the decision has an alleged track record of making politically motivated decisions. “I know this is being handled by a local prosecutor, not something you’d be involved with, but what is your take on what we’re seeing tonight?” Fox News host Shannon Bream asked Schmitt. “The local warrant there signed off by a judge and being executed by St. Louis police?”

There have been 'way too many instances where conservative/Republican politicians sound off against some liberal tool like this DA, and then proceed to DO absolutely nothing about it.

Now that they've disarmed the couple, how long before the liberal brownshirts show up?

Any info available on the legal premise allowing police to seize private property (rifle)?

How are the voters of the "Show Me State" taking this? Outside of St Louis, Missouri the voters aren't exactly rabid leftists.

The persecutor (no typo) just "legally" stole their guns. I suspect that there will be some long, long legal wrangling to get them back, and I will bet that the persecutor never files charges, since she probably can't get a grand jury to indict them. The "punishment" will be (or try to be) the loss of the guns. The AR is worth perhaps $1000 or so, the handgun, if it is what I think it is is worth about $50.
And apparently the little Raven junker .25 auto that the wife was waving around was "not operational". I am pretty sure that is what the wife was irresponsibly waving around like a blackboard pointer in a classroom. 🙄 Her poor gun handling skill did them NO good in this situation.
And there are reports that a gun shop has replaced the AR-15 that the hubby was wielding pretty responsibly, keeping it ready, but not pointed at anyone and finger off of the trigger and clearly out of the trigger guard in the images that I saw. The husband clearly had some training, and the wife none at all. Even though I am on their side entirely in this, that woman really needs to get some handgun training. As a firearms instructor, I'd be happy to do a training session or two with her or both of them, if they desired, gratis. A couple of hundred miles away, but not a big deal.
Anyone who EVER imagines that they might need to use a handgun, please seek out some competent instruction, at minimum. Range time is really important.
At minimum -
1) trigger finger out of the trigger guard, straight along side the weapon's frame
until the instant of firing.
2) do NOT point it or wave it around. If not using it, and you feel you must have it in your hand, keep the arm straight down, gun close at your side, pointed down, never at anything or any one unless it becomes necessary to defend your life, or you are in a direct, immediate violent situation.

#6 is so right about training. That gal in St. Louis is an embarrassment to women shooters. I had better hand gun control when I was 12 and could barely lift my Dad's service revolver. TK says that one of my "she's the one" qualifications was that I was taught about firearms and to shoot responsibly as a girl. Also, that Hoppe's #9 is my favorite cologne on a man.

So do something about it. Or get out of the way and let someone else do something about it.

I'd like to know who the Judge was that signed off on this and what LAW was used? Seems to me this was a violation of Rights, just as the Katrina weapon confiscations and the SCOTUS smacked that down.

#1 & #9, most states have various versions of a "brandishing law" which makes it (rightly, in most instances) illegal to threaten someone with a weapon. The wife's really terrible gun handling, waving the little gun around irresponsibly, may possibly have crossed the line, maybe not, depending on what threats they were getting, and exactly where it was pointed compared to where the thugs were.
In any case the excuse used was to get evidence of a crime. The actual reason was to disarm and punish this couple, and try to frighten others off of defending themselves.
One interesting thing is that the couple's lawyer reported that the handgun was "inoperable", which MIGHT eliminate or at least mitigate the "threat" claims. Not a lawyer, but have studied firearms law quite a lot for my own understanding when going armed, and to teach the subject to students. Getting pretty far down in the weeds on this....hard to know.
The witch of a persecutor is doing her dirtiest.
