Players on the popular shoot-’em-up game “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare” will no longer be able to celebrate with an “OK” gesture because of its use as a hate symbol, according to a report. US video game developer Infinity Ward quietly removed the gesture from the game amid concerns over its use by racist right-wing extremists, the Independent reported.(Snip) The OK symbol is described by the Anti-Defamation League as “a sincere expression of white supremacy,” but the organization notes that “care must be taken not to jump to conclusions about the intent behind someone who has used the gesture,”

The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary.

I remember big advertising signs that said OK used cars. Who knew it was a secret code to prevent sales to black customers?

It infuriates me that people are able to hijack words and symbols and names and claim they mean different things than they have for decades, and the general population are expected to adapt. I refuse to surrender. Just another attempt at changing history.

So if I show you the OK sign while calling gay people homosexuals I guess I'm in big trouble.
Has anybody come up with a homosexual sign ?? I have some suggestions.

The OK hand gesture as a white power symbol was a hoax perpetrated by 4chan called 'Operation O-KKK'. After 4chan had admitted this was all a hoax the mainstream media continued pushing the okay hand gesture as a white power symbol instead of admitting they fell for a hoax.

These mandates from the Left are dead-on adoptions of George Orwell's Newspeak. The Left wants to isolate its political foes (that's us) from those in its camp. Now these terms and actions serve to identify one's political leanings:
The OK sign with thumb and forefinger forming an O.
Stakeholder.
Capitalized Black.
Gender fluid.
Non-binary.
Queer (only if used by practioners).
Place of privilege.
White supremecist.
Black Lives Matter (never say human life is precious - that's racist).
Wuhan virus (very, very racist and anti-science).
Social justice.
Systemic racism (never ask what it is).
and on and on infinitum...

OP: Our authority - when we do as they say we must. Just as I'm going to carry rope in the back of my pickup, just in case someone needs a tow.

According to my online research, the gesture can be found on Greek statures dating back to 500 BC. The symbol was one used for love and approval. As an American gesture, it was first widely used as in the presidential campaign of 1836 as a sign of approval for Martin Van Buren, whose nickname "Old Kinderhook" was derived from his home in Kinderhook, New York. Just as the gesture "V" for victory in WWII was later appropriated by the anti Vietnam War protesters to mean "peace," the "V" still means victory in many quarters, as any alumnus of USC will tell you. Banning words and gestures based on political appropriation by a minority of users is ridiculous and offensive.

Has Call to Duty removed all white characters from its line up? You know, all white people are racist bigots and must be cancelled.

Imagine a future where all indian names..and references, are removed. All of our names based on heros, blotted out for fear that a snoflake might melt. The English names of the eastern seaboard states, the indian Names of the nw territory states..just around me I would lose a street name, a community name, a city name, and a state name.
THAT Is the end game of this nonsense.

In actually, the HATE comes from those whose Gestapo-like thought-control edicts force compliance to speech and thought standards that the Founders would have rejected out-of-hand. Here's MY hand gesture to those tyrannical thugs, and the corporate entities who go along to get along via their obsequious virtue-signaling ... how about boycotting THEM with that very same gesture? Or have you already torn up the 1st Amendment?

So when Eddie Murphy portrayed Buckwheat and said "Otay" and made that sign, he was signalling that he's really a racist? Wow, I guess the cancel culture will be after him now....

If I recall a Hispanic employee of San Diego power and light was accused of flashing the OK sign out his truck while stopped at a traffic light. He was fired.
He was confused why cracking.his knuckles was considered racist.A woman took down the truck number and called in a complaint.
But it was in the Brave New World.of Kalifornica

The Anti-Defamation League and the Southern Poverty Law Center get to decide which words, gestures, and monuments (the latter in particular was helpful in assembling lists of "problematic" monuments in need of removal) are acceptable in the Marxist USA. By what authority do they operate?
