national anthem before Week 1 games

"Lift Ev'ry Voice And Sing," traditionally known as the Black national anthem, is expected to be performed live or played before every Week 1 NFL game, and the league is considering a variety of other measures during the upcoming season to recognize victims of police brutality, a source familiar with the league's discussions told The Undefeated on Thursday. The song would be performed before "The Star-Spangled Banner," the source said. The NFL's season opener is scheduled for Sept. 10, with the Kansas City Chiefs hosting the Houston Texans.

We have a black national anthem? Seriously? So the anthem, songs, hymns, nursery rhymes, all this has been declared racist now? How about the color of my car? Whatever genius decided we have a "black" national anthem is absolutely racist. Seeing and thinking only of skin color, that's racist.

Maybe they'll include the third verse. Then watch the Left go crazy over these words: God of our weary years, God of our silent tears, Thou who has brought us thus far on the way; Thou who has by Thy might Led us into the light, Keep us forever in the path, we pray. Lest our feet stray from the places, our God, where we met Thee, Lest, our hearts drunk with the wine of the world, we forget Thee; Shadowed beneath Thy hand, May we forever stand. True to our God, True to our native land.

"The Black National Anthem" ? Is there some black nation out there that up to now has been unknown? In The United States of America we have one, count it , one national anthem because we are one country, one people. This P.C. cr*p is divisive . No. 10, I guess "hookem" means you are a Texas Longhorns fan, but sadly you may have noticed your school songs "The Eyes of Texas" is now considered racist by your own players. What has infected the NFL has now arrived at the NCAA level, and if you see what happened to Mike Gundy for the sin of watching a news channel that doesn't bow down to BLM you'll see where the game is headed.

Several years ago Rush predicted the NFL would not last. It seems not they are committing political suicide. Their fan base is shrinking and will soon be gone all together as the insult and ignore the people who support them. The solution: Shut up, stay out of politics and just play football. I will never watch them again.

Due to the planned demic, there is speculation that games may be played, but without spectators in the stands to prevent the spread of Covid. The NFL commissioner has just cemented that almost NOBODY will be watching games played in their homes-- the 'woke' league plays to the Kapernicks and no longer the fans. Defund the NFL. Not sure if I will be listening to 'America's Team' on radio this year.

When the networks introduce the players, instead of where they attended school, I want to hear how many babies they have fathered, and by how many women, how many arrests and listing of the charges, how much they paid for college, what their college grades were, the amount of their salaries as compared to the average American, what they have been doing with all their spare time in off seasons, and a detail listing of what they spend and what they spend it on. I think that would allow us to give an honest measure of their characters, as opposed to the announcer telling us what good guys they are. I would also like to have the Commissioner tell us at the beginning of each game his beliefs and values, recite them every Sunday before the game. Then follow that with each of the owners telling us what their beliefs and values, before every game. I want to see these guys, and see if they be fools, or not.

Let's see. The NFL is filled with black football players who make millions playing football. Some are great people but some have been accused of many crimes. Do we condemn them all for the sins of a few? The stadiums are filled with white football fans who pay thousands of dollars to watch them play. The Media survives on million dollar ads from those dastardly corporations run by white men. Where's the beef????? Why do millionaire black football players who often come from poverty hate America? Where else could they have done any better? They obviously have no idea what they are fighting for. If this keeps up, all will lose. The money will dry up and go away. It has already started.

How about in Week #2, should the NFL play the Mexican hat dance before the National Anthem? It’s unbelievable that a commercial entity like the NFL that is all about making money would potentially drive away about half or more of their paying customers. As the reason most people attend or watch professional football games is to get away for a few hours from their everyday troubles including politics.

Black national anthem? There's a black national anthem? Who knew? What nation does it refer to? Do most blacks even know the black national anthem, and how it goes? I'm curious what the words are to the anthem. How long has this song been around? Seems the NFL is purposely trying to put a wedge between fans of the sport. I was not ok with the pink fest that made everything but the football itself pink during a month of the season. I mean a week is ok, but a whole month? How many players are going to get breast cancer. Why not a month of blue for prostate cancer. Every one of these players is going to get prostate cancer at some point. It's just a matter how long they live.

Seven people, all from different households, not only gathered for Thanksgiving but distributed to the media pictorial evidence of them flouting mask mandates and social distancing edicts. No governor yet claims jurisdiction over the International Space Station but the astronauts have a lot of explaining to do when they return to earth. It’s not as though they lacked for space. Governors ordering around people 250 miles above their states seems far-fetched. But so, too, did the notion of governors usurping the role of legislatures. Eight months after the initial coronavirus lockdowns, citizens docilely accept the idea of a single person dictating the laws that govern millions of people.

Will Joe Biden and his foreign-policy team accept the extraordinary gift Team Trump is leaving for them under the Christmas tree — or is their hatred for the president so all-consuming that they will toss it in the garbage? "I haven't had a chance to reflect on it," Pompeo told Bret Baier. Pompeo was referring to the May 2018 release of three Americans detained in North Korea -- all were accused of anti-state activities.

Research psychologist Dr. Robert Epstein believes that search giant Google manipulated what content it showed users in the weeks and months before the 2020 election in a way that was highly favorable to Democrats. “We found a period of days when the vote reminder on Google’s homepage was being sent only to liberals,” Epstein said during an appearance on Tucker Carlson Tonight. “Not one of our conservative field agents received the vote reminder.” After Epstein made those results public, he said Google actually “shut off that manipulation” and were showing vote reminders to everyone in the four days before the election.

The practice of democracy in our constitutional republic flourishes in the presence of contradictions. Democracy, itself, is bound by our inalienable rights, bestowed to us by our Creator. These rights, not given to us by our government by any majority or by any vote, cannot be rescinded, for they were not wrought by man. Voting is a contradiction for it is both public and private at the same time. Its process is intended to be secret, but transparent. Its agency is intensely partisan, but its effect is intended to be unifying. The legitimacy of voting must survive despite the contradictions intrinsic to the process.

Will Judge Emmett Sullivan accept President Trump’s pardon of General Michael Flynn? No one has suggested that possibility, other than The New York Sun. The general’s case, though, has become a bonfire of the vanities of one district judge who has denied the presumption of regularity to an official act of the United States government — meaning Attorney General William Barr’s attempt to drop the case. So why would Judge Sullivan credit President Trump’s workaround of a pardon? We understand, the pardon could be the least fettered of all the powers that the Constitution grants to the president.

Many conservatives have moved their social-media accounts to the more freewheeling Parler, and often have slammed the supposedly monopolistic Facebook and Twitter as they’ve decamped from those sites. I have chuckled at some of their overheated parting rhetoric — especially the widespread misunderstanding about the meaning of the word “monopoly.” A monopoly is, as the Oxford dictionary explains, “the exclusive possession or control of the supply of or trade in a commodity or service.” Quite obviously, if one stops doing business with a company and heads over to its competitor, then the previous company is not by definition in exclusive possession or control of a service.

In an open letter released Sunday, Pro-Life Evangelicals for Biden urged him to “honor his commitment” and include the Hyde Amendment in Democrats’ $1.9 trillion COVID-19 spending package, writing “we feel used and betrayed.” The letter states: We are very disappointed about the COVID-19 relief package’s exclusion of the Hyde Amendment, a longstanding bipartisan policy that prevents taxpayer funding for abortion. [snip] As pro-life leaders in the evangelical community, we publicly supported President Biden’s candidacy with the understanding that there would be engagement [with] us on the issue of abortion and particularly the Hyde Amendment

If you had any doubts that Meghan Markle is a manipulative piece of work, her bombshell Oprah interview Sunday night dumping on the British monarchy would set you straight. Prince Harry’s American wife accused his family of hateful racism against her baby, claimed they refused to protect her and drove her to the point of suicide. She made the incendiary and implausible charge that when she was pregnant with Archie, the royal family decreed that her unborn son would be denied the title of “prince” because her mixed race meant he might have dark skin.

Nancy Pelosi’s top priority is to turn America into a one-party nation ruled by Democrats. Her bill HR 1 trashes the U.S. Constitution in an attempt to rig the system and make it virtually impossible to elect a Republican president or Congress again. It’s a power grab. The bill eviscerates state voting laws and forces all the states to conform to a set of rules that includes automatic voter registration. Anyone who goes to a DMV or applies for food stamps, Medicaid or other social services, or attends a public college will be automatically enrolled to vote. Noncitizens are obligated to identify themselves and opt out,

I’m probably second to none in my dislike for Meghan Markle. There’s something unattractive about a mature woman marrying into the British Royal family with one of the world’s most expensive weddings, hanging out with the Queen, living in insane luxury…and then whining non-stop about the horror of her life. There’s something even less appealing when that woman accuses the Royal family of race hatred. And the problem is that, when it comes to that left-wing diva, Meghan Markle, it’s hard to believe most of what she says. After weeks of hype, CBS finally televised Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s interview with Oprah.

Rep. Steve Cohen vowed to renew the push to remove former FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover’s name from the bureau’s downtown Washington headquarters, according to an interview released Monday. Appearing on Yahoo! News’ Skullduggery podcast, the Tennessee Democrat said the effort is getting a fresh look after the release of a new movie highlighting the FBI’s secret program to discredit civil rights activists. The Washington Times in 2019 first reported Democrats’ bid to strip the longtime FBI director’s name from the bureau’s headquarters. Mr. Cohen said the impetus to revive the bid is the new movie, “Judas and the Black Messiah.” The movie details

“There must have been a moment, at the beginning, when we could have said –-no. But somehow we missed it.” Tom Stoppard The millions of Americans who were paying attention throughout the 2020 election campaign all became painfully aware of the fact that Joe Biden’s cognitive abilities were slipping and slipping fast. His wife, as the person closest to him, should have been the one to call the campaign quits in order to reduce stress on the man. Instead, apparently so anxious to become the First Lady by any means necessary, Mrs. Biden continued to push her failing husband’s campaign forward as if he were mentally qualified.
