Hugh Hewitt: Rumor has it Samuel Alito will

Conservative Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito may be eyeing retirement. The "stronger rumor" is that Alito is "going to quit," conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt told Washington Post reporter Robert Costa on his show Wednesday. He mentioned this in response to Costa's report that said aides to President Trump believe Clarence Thomas, a conservative justice appointed by President George H.W. Bush, is the justice most likely to retire this year. "Justice Thomas will never quit," Hewitt added. Hewitt suggested he learned this rumor when "people begin working the refs" this time of year.

As if we needed ANOTHER reason to vote for President Trump!! If this does happen, I hope it happens with enough time for President Trump to replace him with another young Constitutionalist who will actually follow and respect our founding documents!

Time is already out. No way they get hearings and a confirmation done before the election.

alito's senate confirmation hearing was especially nasty. There was nothing to attack, but the dimocrats made up reasons for attack. It was so disgusting, I emailed some of the attackers - I don't remember who - and a couple of them answered me from the hearing room! and one denied what he had just said about alito. Alito has beemn a calm, consistent associate justice. He will be missed.

Hewitt is an MSM lapdog....per Conservative Treehouse. He works for MSNBC and the Washington Post. His media buddies include Jonah Goldberg, Joe Scarborough, Mika, Sharpton and Chuck Todd. Only a SAP would pay any attention to what Hewitt or his buddies have to say about anything. Fake conservative. Total phony. The worst of the worst.

Seriously, we do have a couple of the conservative Justices that are getting up in years. When President Trump is re-elected, those Justices may want to consider retirement sometime in the latter half of the President's second term -- assuming Turtle McConnell doesn't screw up the election this fall and lose the Senate.

Former 2016 presidential candidate Hillary Clinton believes she would have handled the coronavirus pandemic better than President Trump, and that she would win if she was on the ballot this November. "We wouldn't have been able to stop the pandemic at our borders the way that Trump claimed in the beginning, but we sure could have done a better job saving lives, modeling better, more responsible behavior,” she said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. “I don't think we necessarily should have had as deep an economic assault on livelihoods and jobs as we have,” she said. “So I know I would have done a better job."

Jill Biden, the wife of former Vice President Joe Biden, told The View this week that her husband is a “moderate.” Oddly, that is a label that the former Vice President has rejected in the past. And today, Joe Biden is a “revolutionary.” Last April, shortly before he entered the race, reporters suggested that Biden was a “moderate” and not a “progressive.” He fired back: “For my whole career, I wish had been labeled in Delaware for the seven times I ran as a moderate. I was never labeled as a moderate.” Moreover, Biden is not moving back to the center, as candidates typically do after securing their party’s nomination.

A 72-year-old homeowner shot and killed an alleged intruder he discovered in his Nashville, Tennessee, home Wednesday morning. WSMV reports the incident occurred around 5:30 a.m., when the homeowner, Henry Schuster, returned to his house after eating breakfast. Schuster told police he noticed the screen from his kitchen window had been removed, making him suspect someone had made entry into the home through it. Schuster then pulled his gun and conducted a room-to-room check through the house. When he entered the bathroom 27-year-old Taylor Lowery was allegedly there and “lunged at him grabbing for the gun.” Schuster responded by shooting Lowery, fatally wounding him.

In the op-ed published by The Hill, Albert claimed that the Constitution suggests that only men can be elected president of the United States. University of Texas at Austin Law Professor Richard Albert published an op-ed for the Hill this week in which he argued that the United States should revise the Constitution to be compatible with the progressive values of the modern era. Professor Helmut Norpoth from Stony Brook University told Lou Dobbs on August 16th, 2016, that Donald Trump had an 87% chance of winning the 2016 Presidential election. Professor Norpoth is a political science professor at Long Island’s Stoney Brook University. His model has been correct since 1996 on predicting the popular vote. We reported that his 2016 forecast rested on a model that tracks cyclical movements in American presidential elections. It goes back to 1828, when popular voting became widespread and the two-party system took hold. Over nearly two centuries, American presidential elections have exhibited a distinct cycle.

Despite the fact that the allegation that Trump ignored intelligence on alleged Russian bounties on U.S. troops has been debunked, the left is still clinging to the story, hoping it will be their next Trump/Russia collusion hoax. Barack Obama’s former national security adviser Susan Rice recently penned an op-ed in the New York Times, essentially disputing the claims that Trump wasn’t aware of the intelligence. “As a former national security adviser, I find it exceedingly difficult to believe that no one told Mr. Trump about this intelligence,” she claimed. Former Oakland Raiders Super Bowl champion safety Burgess Owens won the Utah Fourth Congressional GOP primary on Tuesday night and will now face off against Rep. Ben McAdams (D-UT). Owens decisively won the Fourth Congressional District’s primary by roughly 20 points. Owens’ victory means he will now face off against freshman swing district Democrat McAdams in the general election. McAdams unseated former Rep. Mia Love (R-UT) during the 2018 midterm elections. The Cook Political Report rates the race as a “lean Democrat,” but Owens’ potential victory over McAdams could help the GOP retake the House majority. Republicans need to gain a net 17 seats during the 2020 elections to regain the House majority.

Former Vice President Joe Biden’s unsteady demeanor at his first press conference in nearly three months on Tuesday reinforced the idea that he is not going to be in charge of his own administration if he is elected president in November. The Biden administration will be run behind the scenes by a mixture of old establishment hands and young radicals. In effect, it will pursue the policies of Bernie Sanders, with the personnel of Barack Obama and Bill and Hillary Clinton. It will be a regency, not a presidency — or, perhaps more accurately, a government by a central committee, or a politburo.
