For his first three years of life, Izidor lived at the hospital. The dark-eyed, black-haired boy, born June 20, 1980, had been abandoned when he was a few weeks old. The reason was obvious to anyone who bothered to look: His right leg was a bit deformed. After a bout of illness (probably polio), he had been tossed into a sea of abandoned infants in the Socialist Republic of Romania.

Comments:

I visited Romania as part of a 'Cultural Exchange Program', about the time Izidor was born. The Romanian people were friendly and eager to hear of the world outside. They talked to you from about two inches away, often changing position, I later learned to keep an eye out for informers, who would report them for any infractions. But the Romanians themselves were not monstrous - their Elites lead by Nicolae Ceaușescu, were. After all, they knew what was best for their people. Though eventually, they paid the price for their arrogance, these are the same type of people that face us today, coming up with hair-brained schemes and encouraging division, to control us - because they know what is best for us...

Though they practiced the opposite of abortion, they also still claimed the state knew best how to raise your children. It breaks my heart to learn more about the pain these people endured, and how very much I DO NOT want this visited upon America. The Swamp MUST be stopped!

Being Orthodox, I have met many Romanian people. Probably some of the most welcoming, kind people I have ever been around. The most gregarious, endearing, and loving Orthodox Bishop I have ever met was Romanian. He was the human embodiment of a giant teddy bear. The horrors unleashed on th Romanian people by their elites, for their own good, should be a reminder to us what elites can and will do given the power.

Failure to thrive. It’s what happens when human beings are denied physical, human touch. Many studies have been done on this condition, but the Romanian orphans is one of the more famous. Interesting that those who write and publish these stories with a sympathetic eye, see no connection to government lockdowns. Seniors are experiencing this exact same thing, psychologically and emotionally.

I watched the Ceaușescu's last moments on European television at the time. I still say it was a good day's work.

as i have noted, from time to time, we adoptewd two children - brother and sister - from moscow, Russia, in 1996. Our daughter was 7 years old, our son, 4 years old. Our daughter was a favored child at the 'Children's Home(orphanage), beautiful, aloof, self contained, she is now a professional ballerina, actress, model. And because she was 5 years old when she went to the Children's Home, she was not badly traumatized by the experience. her brother, who was 23 months old when he went to the Children's home with her, was badly traumatized by the experience. and, interestingly enough, this post was interrupted by a phone call from her, from Toronto, wishing me a happy father's day. And she remarked that she remembered how I gave her a sense of security when we arrived in the U.S. both children are academically gifted, both superior athletes, but his road to life has been more difficult than hers. He loses interest in stuff quickly. She does not. do we regret adopting them? No. Was it easy to be parents to them? No. would we recommend the adoption path to other families? Not necessarily. Putin may have done a favor to some who might have adopted Russian kids, but were unprepared for the task. he shut down adoptions. the article really resonated with me. Thanks for posting it.

For this alone, the Ceaucescus deserved the end they got, to be shot unceremoniously in a vacant lot.

The Pennsylvania Supreme Court issued an order Saturday vacating a lower court’s decision to suspend the certification of the state’s vote in the presidential election, holding that a challenge to the state’s vote-by-mail laws had come too late. On Saturday, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court overturned Judge McCullough’s order under the doctrine of “laches,” ruling that Rep. Kelly and others should have brought the constitutional challenge before the primary and general elections in 2020 — not after millions of voters in Pennsylvania had already cast their ballots:

Lockdowns won’t end until anticipated vaccines “come to our aid” in the future and the country can expect a “hard winter”, the Prime Minister has said, as the government’s science advisor warned it is quite possible the coronavirus will simply mutate to outperform vaccinations. Yet subsequent comments by the science experts flanking the Prime Minister at Thursday’s conference made clear that the arrival of a vaccine would not necessarily herald the end of Covid-19 as repeat vaccinations may, in the eyes of the government, be required in return for allowing society to re-establish itself.

Los Angeles  - Norma McCorvey, the woman known as "Jane Roe" in the Landmark Supreme Court Roe vs. Wade ruling legalizing abortion said she was lying when she switched to support the anti-abortion movement, saying she had been paid to do so.  In a new documentary, made before her death in 2017 and due to be broadcast on Friday, McCorvey makes what she calls a “deathbed confession.”  “I took their money and they took me out in front of the cameras and told me what to say,” she says on camera. “I did it well too. I am a good actress. Of course, I’m not acting now.”

Donald J. Trump was the best POTUS in my very long lifetime. His policies were effective, making America prosperous, energy independent, and lowering minority unemployment to record low levels. Everything he did, with the possible exception of the COVID lockdown, was quintessentially Trump; competent, encouraging, and salutary for America and her people. We were blessed to have him in the White House. Although many Americans cringed, we nonetheless put up with Trump’s coarseness and his inflated ego because he gave America back to the people.

Warped mass murderer Salvador Ramos was a failing high school loner with an 'aggressive streak', who was bullied for being poor and mocked for wearing eyeliner. That is how former classmates and colleagues have described the killer, 18, who slaughtered at least 19 innocent children in the second deadliest school shooting in American history in Uvdale, Texas on Tuesday, before being shot dead in a shootout with a border patrol officer. Described by one pupil as an 'emo', his lisp also made him a target, according to the Washington Post, with classmates claiming he endured gay slurs. Another said he was mocked for his clothing.
