As Father's Day specials go, it was hardly stirring. But it was very Trumpian.(Snip)If Trump owned a media company, which advisors say he discussed when he believed he would lose the 2016 election, it might look something like "Team Trump Online," the current production. And if he or his family start one after he leaves the White House, this could be the pilot.(Snip)At times, the Trump channel resembles Trump-friendly media like Fox News or the more conspiratorial One America News Network. It relies on hosts who amplify Trump's tweets, denigrate the national media, and ignore or explain away facts that challenge the president's falsehoods.

Oh geez...the LAT poison pen again....
FTA: " ...ignore or explain away facts that challenge the president's falsehoods." Facts? Or spin? Or the comment about "The Peeeuww" having "liberal sensibilities"? No, they are neither liberal nor have any sensibilities!! And then the author gets alleged quotes from an anonymous staffer (they are always anonymous, aren't they?) who kept using the code word "nationalist" as to imply white supremacy. These propagandists have no subtlety.

Lost me at 'Trump friendly media like Fox News'. I won't watch it anymore. I record some commentary shows, lie Laura/Tucker/Levin, and watch them. But I can't watch a slanted viewpoint that panders to the Ruling class-Elite. And while I mostly agree with the debaters and complainers like Hannity, I'm tired of yelling and bs so I've turned Fox off. I used to religiously watch the channel for unbiased information. No longer.
If the President started his own news network, and the reporting presented both sides.....like Fox used to, I'd watch all day long. AND THE ADVERTISERS WOULD HAVE MY EYES AND EARS! Sorry for shouting but that part is important.

Do it! The country is hungry for a genuine conservative, America-loving media channel. I predict it would instantly have the highest ratings ever and dwarf all other channels. Think what Rush Limbaugh is to radio...times 1,000.
I continue to be amazed that no media mogul has chosen to build such an America-loving channel, featuring not just honest news but also the many great examples of ordinary American heros: veterans, first-responders, minority achievers, builders, inventors, etc. A kind of "Radio Free America" but on both radio and TV. Pure gold. Unbelievable that nobody wants to go get it.

I have long hoped for/suspected that Trump would do this, after his experience with the media. Good on you, Mr. President. We need it. And, while you’re at it, how about a social media alternative. Trumpbook?

"or the more conspiratorial One America News Network" I have never seen OAN produce anything of the sort. The "Lost Angeles Times" must be jealous of a successful national news source that can make a profit by telling the truth and being patriotic.

I suspect that our side could have had a network years ago, but the deepest pockets on our side are just all talk and no action. This nation is starved for honest journalism, and the current MSM is just not cutting it. I suspect they know it, but they aren't ever going to admit it. I hope Trump does some spectacular things in a new term, like maybe finally forming an actual political party for all us disaffected republicans tired of the Uniparty elites. The Independent Republican Party could be a political buzz saw, ripping through the roots of the system. I am tired of feeling ignored by DC.

A new cable news net that mirrored America (center right like Fox of old) could work with large doses of cooperation of both talent and financing.
Media buyers --mostly Manhattan libs-- shunned Fox for years and still do to a degree which is why we see so many off-brands on FoxNews and so few of the Big Auto-Pharma-Insurance. Financing such an undertaking would require underpinning from many, but that could come from the likes of Hannity, Beck, Limbaugh, O'Reilly, Trump himself--all of whom would join the network--to compliment all the good journalistic and media talent we see now spread around cable and the internet: Ingraham, Tucker, Bream, Kilmeade, Bartiromo, Dobbs, Bongino, Mark Steyn, Levin, Sarah Carter, John Solomon, Sharyll Atkinson, Maggie Hemingway, Hegseth, ...and on and on. All seem interested in the truth and might forego superstar salaries for the common good, a healthy (not superstar) compensation, and piece of the action.
That's my dream scenario.

FTA: "...in 2016 that Trump's advisors were "amazed" that Fox News, which they saw as impure in its fealty to Trump's brand of nationalism, had no serious competition on the right."
Even truer today than '16. Fox has deserted the field, preferring to move leftward despite its #1 standing in cable news network viewership.
It begs the question why no one has filled this growing vacuum, and not just cable but broadcast TV, now with multiple digital channels offering nothing but re-run re-runs of old TV shows, and print. Media today is cheap to produce and distribute. Electrons are much less expensive than paper, and distribution to millions is peanuts.
As for these conservative TV stars, competition for an audience would actually be a good thing, reaching for wider audiences based on the tailoring of their own production. Years ago there was GOP TV with Haley Barbour that was slickly produced, friendly without being cloying, smart and yet attractive to those with less-than-rabid political views. Pull out those tapes and its a good model for building a conservative "Trump TV" program and network.

Don't name it after Trump. We want conservative ideals etc to be ongoing and not ending in 2025.
Perhaps include:
Hillsdale College
History of lesser known Americans (Aunt Jemina, Booker T Washington Phyliss Schafly, etc)
History of companies that support PDT (and how to apply for employment)
History of military bases and other edifying military news
Conservative news from different states/cities/counties
Discussions about the Amendments to the Constitution
Book reviews- (anything non-left)
Denesh D'Sousa
Candace Owens
Conservative legacy (to outlast the PDT administration)
Conservative and economic growth happenings throughout the world(trickle down)
Companies and organizations that provide economic opportunity for residents in impoverished parts of the world

Didn't catch that at first. Its not the Los Angeles Times, its the Lost Angeles Times. Always had the impression the Los Angeles Times is the NY Times of the west coast, and just as bad.
The left and their media lackeys have two stories where they don't have to follow everything Trump says the with CV19 and the protests/riots. They want Trump pushed to the side and silenced. They have been trying to do that since before he was elected. The media is all too happy to help. The media is all too happy to talk to anyone other than Trump.
Trump really needs to regain control. Not sure how. Not sure there are any Trump friendly venues on TV, cable, or the internet.

I'll bet, #16, in a few short years channels will be a la carte with their own streaming channel. Maybe cable / satellite will find a way to survive, but it could be difficult.

Sounds like a pretty good idea that is needed now so the general public will get ALL OF THE FACTS! Conservative viewpoints are quickly dwindling due to the scum media and Internet companies. There will soon be no outlet to hear their national voices other than Trump's rallies and of course, the infamous vote. That is of course if the bottom feeding democrats do not literally find a way to steal it out from underneath him! We cannot rely on the Supreme Court now to strictly go by our Constitution. They have now proven to be very biased in their opinions
