Vice President Mike Pence declined to say the words "Black lives matter" during an interview with an ABC affiliate in Pennsylvania on Friday, instead saying that "all lives matter."
"Let me just say that what happened to George Floyd was a tragedy," Pence told 6ABC Action News in Philadelphia when asked directly if he would say that Black lives matter. "And in this nation, especially on Juneteenth, we celebrate the fact that from the founding of this nation we've cherished the ideal that all, all of us are created equal, and endowed by our creator with certain inalienable rights. And so all lives matter in a very real sense."

That does it for Pence. He is toast.
The long knives will be coming for him.
He has committed the most odious of hate crimes, failure to follow the party line.

Finally someone has the guts to say no to the media mob. Thank you Mr. Vice President!

I say the same thing. All lives matter and I refuse to say Black Lives Matter or take a knee. I will challenge anyone that comes after me for my beliefs. I will not cave to anyone.

Pence's principles have been career-enders for many, sad to say, such as school principal Tiffany Riley in Vermont.
In another great monologue Tucker Carlson, posted nearby, he said, "If there was ever a time to remind America that we all have equal value under God, that time is right now. But no. No one in charge is saying that. Our leaders are cowards when we need them to be brave."
Generally true, but here Mike Pence is doing what so many poseurs pretend to do, speak truth to power.

I’m still in awe of that Black man who confronted the protestors at the hospital and asked them if the lives of Black babies aborted matter. Prayers for him, for VP Pence, and everyone else who has the courage to speak the truth.

Pence has guys.
If the law says, "all equal under the law", then 'All Lives Matter'.
If the Blacks have no been treated equally under the Law - then look to where they are harmed:
Democrat Controled Communities.
I suggest they talk to the right people, who have institutionally held them back for over 50 years using the Civil Rights Act as cover to destroy their communities. And before that, Jim Crow to suppress and intimidate those communities.
And while you're at it, demand your reparations from the Democrats who oppressed you.

The phrase "black lives matter" with the response "all lives matter" was explained to me recently with the comparison that if I had a very sick son, and in my grief, I said, "I love my son, he is so special." And then, someone replied, "All sons are special." I have no problem saying"Black lives matter" to me. They do. I wish they mattered to Democrats and to those people who keep electing them.

I am so dumb. I thought news bureaus were supposed to tell us what government official said. How quaint! Now news agencies tell us what government officials DIDN'T say.

Yes, I have an additional post. #10, that is why we have become such a "me,me,me" society because my response would have been "yes, I agree all sons are special." Our society has become such that everyone is trying to get their 15 minutes of fame or attention. And along the same lines, everyone seems to be vying for their 15 minutes of pity.
Oh, I do understand how offended people get because of the "All Lives Matter" response but most people think beyond themselves. These protestors think only of themselves. What would expect Mike Pence to say? He is a devout Christian and could possibly view it from the angle of God's eyes. In God's eyes, all lives do matter.
Do you get what all of this is about? Believers versus unbelievers. . .and that was quite evident this week. I belong to a local blog and pointed out my response but was told that if I wanted to believe in something imaginary, well that is my belief system. These people believe only in themselves.

#13 gets it. “Black Lives Matter” is a political statement that demands acceptance, agreement and activism. “I love my son” is a personal statement. The comparison is invalid.

VP Pence has committed the unpardonable crime of quoting the Declaration of Independence with approval. What crime will he commit next? Supporting the U.S. Constitution?

That is exactly the right answer.
For clarification, I like to add "equally".
All lives matter equally. And I will not be cowed into EVER saying the phrase that underlies "BLM", because I believe it is inherently and intentionally racist and hateful.

Good for VP Pence!
I too have heard the explanations as to why the phrase “Black Lives Matter” is important to say because Black Lives Matter too. Except - they don’t say that. If the phrase “Black Lives Matter Also” were used perhaps I could get around it, but the current motto is exclusive, not inclusive, and is being used to hammer in a political position. Black lives matter but police lives don’t? Black lives matter but black baby lives don’t? Black lives matter but Christian lives, conservative lives, straight lives don’t? Read their website. I refuse to say a motto that stands for things I absolutely don’t believe in, that go against my core values. I believe ALL LIVES have inestimable value, given to them by their Creator, and I have taught my children the same. Don’t dictate to me what I have to believe.

Every man, woman and child alive is created in the image of God. Therefore, every life--every man, woman and child of every age, skin color, ability, nationality and belief--matters. Every single one. Period. There is no "gotcha" phrase a human being can utter that either increases, decreases or more perfectly validates his or her inherent worth. You can be sure most of those now quick to repeat the BLM mantra are doing so for themselves (to appear "woke," to be "safe," to get elected or funded, or to secure the favor of others), not for the good of any person who happens to be black.

The next time our VP or anyone else is pressed to say that he or she should simply say "ALL Black Lives Matter....wouldn't you agree?" And then wait for the other interviewer's or person's response. It's bound to be enlightening.

They don’t want you to say “black lives matter.” They want you to say Black Lives Matter. BLM is an official organization that is not only extremely left wing, but at its website is linked to fundraising for Democrats. It is the same difference as saying you believe a democratic party and you believe in the Democratic Party.

Two of my white neighbors, the whole block is white, have black lives matter signs up. I don't think God had any intention of making one color more importantant than another.

"Black lives matter" is a response to and repudiation of the experience and belief that black lives don't matter. That a police officer can rush to take the life of someone (a son, a father, a brother, a husband, an American) because, after all, it's just a black dude. In similar circumstances, a white person might be allowed to live. "All lives matter" is what you say when you want to turn a blind eye to that reality.

#15, I agree with #13 and I understand political vs personal. For many blacks, this IS personal. However, BLM is a unquestionably a political, communist movement taking advantage of George Floyd's death. Saying "Black lives matter" is not tantamount to supporting the BLM movement. Maybe, just maybe, when we agree that "Black lives matter" we can move onto saving those lives by getting rid of police unions that fail to fire problem cops and teacher's unions that keep poor teachers safely entrenched in failing schools and we can offer school choice, and maybe we can educate what happens when Black voters continue to vote for the same failed democrats. Saying "Black lives matter," is not the same as saying "Black lives matter, and other lives do not matter."

Sorry 23 but have to disagree on principle, and I'm not turning a blind eye to "reality". When blacks show the same amount of energy and outcry for black on black crime and murder, black babies being aborted and understanding that rioting, looting and burning are NOT PEACEFUL and also not legal I'll consider the point that black lives matter. Until then it's disingenuous at best and hypocritical to boot. It's hard for me to gin up sympathy for anyone black, white, brown or yellow who starts a situation with an illegal manner or action and then ends up a victim.
