CHICAGO -- The Chicago area will mark Juneteenth with a series marches and rallies Friday. A Chicago pastor and his South Side church are preparing to lead a march downtown that will step off at Roosevelt and Columbus. Pastor Chris Harris of Bright Star Church said this will include a coalition of groups and people of faith in a march against racism. The rally and march to Grant Park is being held today on Juneteenth, a nationally celebrated day to recognize the emancipation of slaves in the United States. Not only will marchers fight to end systemic racism, but the day

I have seen mention of Juneteeth back years ago as a holiday in Texas. It never was a national thing until President Trump scheduled a rally and then the usual suspects had a hissy. I would support it as a holiday instead of Kwanzaa. Kwanzaa has nothing. It was made up by Ron Karenga. Juneteenth does support a real event.

black people were not the only slaves. Many white people were sold into slavery and many were indentured servants. Are these people being remembered.
One of the meanest nastiest slave owners just so happened to be a black person. No one ever speaks of that minor detail. all so one sided

Just showing that they are still slaves, but to the Democrat Party and other, even more radical leftist groups rather than the plantation owners. To paraphrase The Who’s rock classic, Meet the new boss, same as the old boss, we enjoy being slaves again.

FTA: Organizers say if you plan to join, you must wear a mask or you can't march.
Protestors are exempt.

Just wondering, are they still slaves or did juneteenth really happen? I thought we were having these riots by the terrorist blm marxist, to eliminate slavery. What was the purpose for the civil war and the 750 thousand lost Americans?

Is Jessica D'Onofrio so ignorant as to not know that April 46, 1862 is the date that Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation. Or do they no longer teach that in any school she ever attended. Geez what a bunch of collective idiots.

Anything we want to celebrate and are banned because it doesn't follow the liberal agenda, we should now announce to be a protest rally. On Juneteenth, I will be celebrating the end of prohibition, with some good bourbon and a good chunk of Angus beef on the grill. It doesn't matter what the date prohibition ended was, much like this slavery's ending date. If my Juneteenth celebration is as successful as I think it will be, I may have to celebrate
Julyteenth, Augusteenth, and the rest of the monthly 'teenths!'

So are they finally going to admit that it is democrats who are the institutional and systemic racist party? After all, some of the nation's most egregious racism came from democrats.

Juneteenth is another one of those lazy abbreviations like dindonuffin, cracka, mofo, po foke, souside, git woke, gimmedat, yo mama, etc. The way the appeasement circus is running rampant across the country, the language gods in Britain will be forced to add these words to the official English dictionaries.

The holiday marks the end of slavery in Texas. Slavery had already ended. Texas just got the word late.

A fake holiday for the plantation. Give them a day to party and give thanks to their African countrymen for selling blacks into slavery. They don't even have to be descendants of slaves (most aren't), but they can feel good because their plantation masters gave them a holiday!

I'm over seventy years old and this is the first I've ever heard of 'Juneteenth' why? I must have been asleep all these years to miss this one. I just heard of Kwanzaa about ten years ago and found the history of that fake happening an invention by an incarcerated criminal. It's funny that the 'culture cancelers' are erasing history but adding or keep their own very sacred like this Juneteenth event. Fourth of July is canceled but not this obscure event. What a bunch of stupid pap by the left.

Anyone know how to manufacture bulletproof face masks? With their ever climbing Black on Black murder rate I see an excellent marketing opportunity.
