As antifa militants have taken over six blocks of Seattle’s Capitol Hill district, calling it the “Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone” or the “People’s Republic of Capitol Hill,” Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan has refused to act, and Gov. Jay Inslee (D-Wash.) actually laughed about this open revolt, claiming he hadn’t heard about it. He did say, however, that he was demobilizing the National Guard. President Donald Trump told Durkan and Inslee to get their acts together, stat. “Radical Left Governor [Jay Inslee] and the Mayor of Seattle are being taunted and played at a level that our great Country has never seen before,” the president tweeted. “Take back your city NOW.

Comments:

President Trump's "stooping" the leftoid Antifa sellout Inslee should be fun to watch. Bend the Ungovernor all the way to the ground.

Take it back, Mr. President, but don't allow them to run it anymore. If you take it back for them, they'll just blame you and keep on helping BLM/antifa. Now, that little power mad dictator in the making in Chazland, if you leave him alone long enough, he might just finish this for you and teach all of US a real good lesson.

They can have the whole city as far as I am concerned. It's not worth it to have some National Guard soldiers hurt reclaiming it. Now a couple of smart bombs is another matter.

Law, order and Constitutional machinery has clearly broken down. The President not only has the right but an obligation to put down the insurrection. Even if, as they say, it takes the 82nd Airborne. In spite of the fake polls that have come out on cue, my judgement is that at least two out of three Americans support this move. They will vote in November.

It appears as though Washington and Seattle Democrats are incapable of maintaining order and civility in Washington State. Trump is showing leadership by providing fair warning that they must act to suppress the anarchy they have tolerated so far. Washington Gov. Jay Inslee and Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan must be reminded that we are an nation of laws. Either do your jobs or get out of the way!!

Sure, Mr. President...have at it. I don't think you're that foolish, but why not? Troops on every corner. Tanks rolling through CHAZ. The Mayor and Governor on the radio encouraging calm resistance. Brezhnev would be proud. It worked so well in Prague.

I'd rather POTUS take control of his administration, particularly his DoD and military. Running Seattle is not a presidential duty supported by the Constitution. Exercising his clear duty as Commander-in Chief against all enemies foreign and domestic, certainly is bedrock constitutional.

What I don't really understand is why half of these Antifa punks are still breathing. There are 500 homes in this neighborhood ? Property value now ZERO but after the looting and arson I would consider my family to be in mortal danger and would be going on nightly hunting trips.

Trump should keep calling attention to this clown-show, but not intervene. He can keep pointing to it and rightfully claim that Democrats support and affirm this looniness. Keep ridiculing it, mock it, draw attention to it, show how bananas the Left has become. The vast majority of this country prefers order and will see that Trump is the Adult in the Room.

Why do you think they are extorting money from the vendors in their hostage area. I would think that money that use to come into that organization is being stopped. If money was flowing in, they would not ask for a penny, they could purchase black market weapons, etc. They are asking for volunteers with weapons. I would not be surprised if the money is starting to dry up.

This takeover is fully endorsed by Durkan and Inslee because they know eventually Trump will step in, and when he does he will be declared a dictator and out of control.

President Trump offered the Leftist and liberal Democrat Governor of Washington and the Mayor of Seattle federal assistance that they refused. That Governor and Mayor now own the Anarchist led out of control situation taking place in that so-called zone. I say let them stew in their own juices until they face the voters there in the next election. Right now the people who voted that Governor and Mayor into office deserve those incompetent leftist politicians and the out of control situation that they facilitated by withdrawing the National Guard and local police from that area of Seattle.

When statues are toppled it’s because the topplers are making room for their own monuments. Every revolution is driven not only by the desire to tear down but also to replace the old world with the new. ‘Defunding the police,’ we are now told, does not mean defunding the police, but shifting the money to a new public safety agency, which will almost certainly lead to a politicized if not a political police. Even banning Gone with the Wind is preparatory to more. No political movement ever bans just one book. That coming new world will be inconceivably different from anything familiar. It has to be

The accusation that President Trump in some way threatens the Constitution is the most disgusting expression of hypocrisy that I have heard in nearly half a century of journalism–no exceptions. It is so monstrously false that it is shocking to hear it from the likes of Gen. James Mattis and Gen. Colin Powell. A conspiracy to drive Donald Trump from office through lies, leaks and larceny began before he took office and continues to the present day. Alleged collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia was an outrageous hoax. The spurious charges against Gen. Mike Flynn have been exposed as a concoction of FBI officials

The letter perfectly encapsulates everything the left hates and wants to see destroyed. Below, in italics, are my summaries of many of Weir’s pronouncements, followed by countervailing information. Climate change is making nightingales have shorter wings, so they’re all going to die because they can’t migrate. First, the study, after noting some nightingales have shorter wings, makes an evidence-free leap to blaming climate change. Second, “[w]hile the British population of nightingales has been declining

The COVID-19 pandemic has forced popular consciousness to face mortality after decades of anticipating life extension and even the Singularity as a birthright. Yet it did not appreciably diminish the popular belief that technology would save the day and allow us to renew the march to progress before too long. But to await salvation would be to expect more from technology than is reasonable. First, there are suspicions the pandemic itself may be the product of technology, of rogue experiments or bad lab containment. Technology does not 'save' anything of itself; it works in both directions. It can construct an electric toaster

As the northern hemisphere begins to emerge from the worst of the pandemic, political punditry is focusing on two issues: how to reopen the economy and how to decouple from China. The two subjects are related because a large part of the Western economy is joined at the hip with Beijing. To a substantial degree, China produces what America consumes. Each country's holdings in the other are enormous. They are bound by innumerable contracts, deals, projects and cross-posted personnel that are not easily severed. This system of cross-dependency was consciously pursued to vaccinate the world against a repetition of the two world wars. However, globalization also significantly eroded the independence
