First they came for “Cops” and “Gone With The Wind,” and now they appear to be gunning for Cracker Barrel. Sort of.Amid the Maoist-like cultural revolution currently happening across the states, there seems to be an emerging movement to smear (and eventually possibly cancel) the iconic Southern restaurant chain Cracker Barrel. It reportedly began with April Reign, the far-left activist reportedly responsible for launching the stunningly racist #OscarsSoWhite hashtag.Responding to a Twitter user who’d asked if people have “ever walk[ed] into a place that just FEELS racist,” Reign responded by citing Cracker Barrel. The Cracker Barrel in the town closest to me is the crackerless barrel.
It's filled with blacks always, they don't seem to have a problem eating there.

Just like a radical leftist. If I don't like a store, restaurant, etc., I just don't go there. If a leftist doesn't like something, he/she insists it be changed or eliminated.
And they're supposed to be the "tolerant" ones.

I thought 'cracker' was a derogatory term blacks used for deplorable whites. Are they saying that blacks are racist?

I am white but am not a cracker / cracka'. I have never whipped anyone, nor would I. The only word I allot to blacks for offense is the N word. I will allow that. Everything else is a bunch of BS. And I say, let them stew in it.
Have you ever seen a gathering or a group of blacks asking 'What can I do to help myself, my family, my friends, my neighbors? Nope, I haven't either. It's all "gimmee, I deserve it." ..........NO YOU DON'T!!

I've been in a Cracker Barrel once (in 2004, they aren't in the Seattle area) and it was in Denver. It was a Sunday and there was an African-American family, Dad, Mom, four children. All dressed in their best clothes, obviously just came from church. They put the rest of us in that restaurant to shame.

That is one of the things I loved about living in Tennessee. After church on Sunday, most restaurants filled with folks, both black and white, dining in their best Sunday clothes. It was a wonderful place to live.

Are we ever going to reach the point where someone dares to stand up and say, "Oh for the love of God! That's that stupidest things I've ever heard! You'd have to be a complete moron to say such a thing!"
Because this seems like a golden opportunity to say that.

Apologize and change your name to Pickle Barrel.
If you want to experience something that "feels" like a racist space, walk around South Side Chicago. It felt that way before George Floyd.

So I guess they want to turn it into Crack Barrel instead?
You walk in, and there are homeless drunks laying everywhere. Piles of poop and puddles of urine in all aisles. Empty shelves where everything has been stolen. Crack pipes and used needles scattered everywhere. Young black children asking every patron if they are their daddies. /sarcasm off
We stop at Cracker Barrel restaurants to eat when we are travelling. Good food, clean restaurants, polite wait staffs, and a nice selection of often Christian-based merchandise. I have never been in a Cracker Barrel anywhere where at least 1/3 (and often more) of the patrons weren't African-Americans. They are having a nice time eating. They are shopping in the store part. They are enjoying those comfortable rocking chairs out front. And they are always smiling and happy there -- just like the Anglo, Hispanic, and Asian customers you see there.
Civil War II already started. It's just that only the evil people are fighting it right now. Soon, the good people will have no choice but to join in!!!!

Ignorance of cultural nuance on display! Folks used to gather at the general store and sit around the cracker barrel--soda crackers came in barrels in those days and you bought them in bulk--sometimes munching crackers, I suppose, but congregating for conversation and fellowship. Many important and sensitive issues were worked out informally in those goings on so that there was no social disruption.

Re: #7 - To answer the question in your second paragraph, Yes. The Black guys with whom I went through the Navy's Aviation Officer Candidate School in Pensacola in the mid-1980s were all about helping themselves, their families, and their country. For those who made it through to earn their gold bars and wings, I doubt that they are now BLMers.

From Dictionary.com: "Cracker-barrel: adjective; of or suggesting the simple rustic informality and directness thought to be characteristic of life in and around a country store: homespun, cracker-barrel philosophy." The fact that black slang has appropriated the word "cracker" as a derogatory term referring to "poor white trash" would seem a far-fetched reason to demand that 50-year-old business with 73,000 employees change its name as allegedly racist, let alone offensive to African-Americans.

A "Saltine" or "Cracker" is black disparagement of whites. Being called a "cracka" is akin to calling a black person a n###er. Just sayin...

We stop to eat at our local Cracker Barrel every once in a while, and a lot more often while we are traveling the interstate highways. We always see Black families eating in Cracker Barrel and we have never seen any uncomfortable Black families in Cracker Barrel. One thing about Cracker Barrel, nobody is ever hungry when the get up and leave.

There needs to be push-back. I know people a scared that if they don't bend over and self-emetic, their business will be destroyed, or they'll lose their job.
There must be a way to initiate a defense organization, to collectively sue, to push back and say No More, turn the tables and do unto them what they've been doing unto others.

Okay. I'm ready for this carp to stop. If you don't like something, just move on and leave it alone. Put these jibberjabbers to work on a real job and they wouldn't have time to be looking around for something to destroy. I'm sick of all of them already. I'm 75 years old and there are things I haven't cared too much for in my life, but I just move on and leave them alone. They should do the same thing. I do like Cracker Barrel's gift shops.

The food is cheap, plentiful and fattening. I have been once and there were several black families sitting near me, all fat, each eating enough for two people. You can't help noticing people eating with such gusto. I packed up half of my meal in a to-go box and was still stuffed. I decided to never go back unless I split a meal with one of my kids.

BTW, "cracker" is used as an disparaging epithet for poor/rural Southerners (and some parts of Pennsylvania) by people who don't belong to that group.

I would not do it and probably most 'conservatives' or normal Americans would not do it, but April Reign deserves to have her life ruined or at least heavily inconvenienced for the things she does. At least wring an apology out of her. The left gets that much instantly, if they don't destroy someone's livelihood or business.
