President Trump announced Wednesday that he 'will not even consider' renaming American military bases that were named after leaders of the Confederacy. 'These Monumental and very Powerful Bases have become part of a Great American Heritage, and a history of Winning, Victory, and Freedom,' Trump tweeted. 'The United States of America trained and deployed our HEROES on these Hallowed Grounds, and won two World Wars,' the president continued. 'Therefore, my Administration will not even consider the renaming of these Magnificent and Fabled Military Installations,' Trump said. Put an END to this PC virtue-signaling symbolism crap!
Re-name Washington, DC, Washington State, Washington Counties, Washington Streets, Washington dollar bills! He owned slaves. And he wasn't particularly nice to them when they ran away. SO WHAT?
Cities, states, businesses, educators, CEOs, athletes, ministers, military officers, SOMEBODY, ANYBODY, in a position of leadership of SOMETHING, ANYTHING, in this country needs a pair of BALLS!
Stop caving in.
Stop apologizing out of FEAR OF THE MOB!
NOW!

If the memory of any person involved in the sin of slavery is to be expunged without reference to context then later on we are going to expunge the name of every legislator who supported abortion. No matter what they did for the country, and no matter how slight or reluctant their involvement, down goes their statue, out goes their name. Because which would you rather be, a slave or a baby cut up in a bucket?

At least they didn't try to close them, and sell the land. I remember when they closed Fort Sheridan, so developers could gobble up 2 miles of prime, high, wooded, Lake Michigan North Shore lake front real estate.

It is becoming evident that there are a bunch of wimpy Admirals and Generals now running the Pentagon, who were promoted to high ranks during the Obama-Biden era, who never won a war since 9/11. Obviously they would be scared to death to go after the anarchists who took over part of Seattle today. If that means they are following the Constitution they must believe that the Constitution is a suicide pact.
If the country wants to change the name of all those Army Forts in the South, Congress should pass a law to that affect. If that happens the Forts should be named after either Medal of Honor recipients or great battles that Americans fought, and won and definitely not politicians.

If this is the standard, then half the buildings, roads and parks will need to be renamed in West Virginia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_places_named_after_Robert_Byrd

I'd say our short-timer Army Secretary appears to be still wet behind the ears.....he strikes me as someone who was simply fearful of expressing any definite opinion, one way or the other.

After all the places that are named after Robert Byrd in WV.....perhaps PDT can suggest that the military bases be named after him.

#17, McCarthy is somewhat wet behind the ears. At 46 he's a pup relative to the other people at the Secretary level. However, he also has experience as an Assistant Secretary of the Army. I understand the majority of his time and efforts as Assistant Secretary was to handle GO zipper issues for the Secretary. No thanks.

President Trump does need to make some military name changes. Starting with his current Secretary of Defense and Secretary of the Army. They are virtue signalers, and not supportive of their Commander-in-Chief.

The Pentagon leadership should not be publicly stating that it is OK with them to rename historic Army installations without getting an OK from the Commander in Chief first. That’s always the way the military chain of command has worked in the past.

It sure is good we have at least one leader in the military chain of command -- President Trump. Because, it sure seems that the Pentagon has zero leaders with spine from Esper on down through the generals. Obama did a good job of getting rid of real leaders in the Pentagon/military. Kinda the same thing that Kim Jong Un and Saddam did -- only for them the people were killed not fired.

I am sick of all this "name changing monuments, taking down statues, no confederate flags allowed." Bending a knee to black lives matter? So explain this to me. Do black people know who Margaret Sanger was? Hum? Pure-d racist who wanted to rid the country of black people. So, today, year 2020, most abortions are black babies. Is this recognized by black lives matter? I don't hear about all the deaths from abortion...black babies. I will never bend my knee to BLM. It's frightening to think people actually did.

New York.... the State and the City.... are named after the Duke of York, who had the EXCLUSIVE License to import and sell slaves into the American colonies, which makes him the Biggest SLAVE TRADER of them all!
OK, New York State and New York City..... Change YOUR name!

Absolutely , glad to hear the President speak out on it. Now I hope he tells Nancy what she can do with her demands for removing confederate statues.

Good to pump the brakes because the fervor they've had planned for a long time will not stop until any and all things named after people who owned slaves when it was legal to do so (Washington, Jefferson; Lincoln had slaves at the White house, etc).
