Selling looted goods on Facebook – CBS 2 found it’s happening right now, with several videos and photos sent our way.
We sent the evidence to Chicago Police, and on Monday night, CBS 2’s Tara Molina looked into what will happen next – with the CPD and the FBI investigating. There was a call for photos and videos of looting last week. The FBI asking anyone with information on unlawful activity to submit it – information the CPD is taking in too.
One woman posted a Facebook Live video publicly on Sunday, May 31, and it got about 6,600 views and 41 shares. It showed looting at a strip mall

Well Mayor Lighfoot will certainly put a stop to that...not the looting, but the prosecution of any looters.

George Floyd must be so proud to have helped all of his supporters to extract financial justice from the white privileged elitists.

"Our producers reached the woman who posted those public Facebook Live videos over the weekend. The producers were blocked by one of her friends, and we never got a comment from her to include in this story."
Well, ain't that big mouthed girl just the mostest bravest looter in all a ChiTown, bragging on Facebook and all!
Whole different little girl hiding from local TV cameras behind her badass thug friend.

In a sane, normal place. These posts would be 'evidence' and these criminals would be arrested and convicted and put in prison.
But, it's Chicago. Likely no problems for her.

So head for California. Looting is legal in LA and SF as long as you keep it down to $999 per incident.

I may be wrong but isn't trafficking in stolen property (fencing) a crime?

Boy are those people going to be shocked when Apple sends the cops to nail them for stealing phones. Seems that they have the capacity to track you down via that phone. Bwahahahahaha.

I believe selling stolen goods over the internet is a federal felony because of the interstate nature of the medium. I do hope the feds will follow up on some of these.

When we first saw news clips of people running with boxes and boxes of stuff, one of my first thoughts was "a lot of this is gonna be sold on ebay in the next couple of weeks."
buyer beware.

@17 I was just wondering if all those boxes they were carrying from the shoe store were their size or if they just grabbed so they could sell them. I saw one with an armload of boxes but he kept dropping them as he ran because he was having to use one hand to hold up his pants.

Local crime federalized. Doesn't the FBI have some of its own to chase after?

Why shouldn't they brag? Nothing will happen to them for their crimes. Something to brag about, I'd say.
