New York City Mayor has announced that five streets in each borough will be renamed after prominent leaders in the black community in honor of the Black Lives Matter movement. Bill de Blasio revealed the plans for the Bronx, Manhattan, Staten Island, Queens and Brooklyn after a Sunday meeting with activists–including Gwen Carr–the mother of Eric Garner who was killed when NYPD put him in a choke hold in 2014. The names of the leaders have not yet been revealed.(Snip) 'It's time to do something officially representing this city,' de Blasio said in a Tuesday press briefing. He's just grovelling, aye pandering to try and keep the Blacks down on the Democrat plantation. It's something like "tote that barge, lift that bale....etc." and be sure to remember your Democrat slave master on voting day. Or how about letting them off the plantation and off the government teat so they can move out of those covid 19 public housing hell holes and be contributing members of society and have decent home and decent education for their children? But then they might vote Republican, the party of Lincoln who got them out of slavery the first time.

Kaiser Illhelm invents a new political display: the MauMau Kowtow. And why not rename New York. After all, it is named after the city of York England...a center for the Viking slavers. OOPS, those slaves were white. White slaves...is that even a thing?

Why not just rename New York City “Black Lives Matter City”. That would cover the whole kit and caboodle. Since people from York, England during the days of the old British Empire were obviously somehow connected to the slave trade, who in this day and age could oppose de Blasio doing that?

I've never been to New York an am not familiar with neighborhoods except for what I've learned through reading and movies. I'm looking forward to the street name recommendations from posters who do know. This brave act by DiBlasio is certain to relieve all tensions and cause an outbreak of peace and brotherhood. (I probably shouldn't use that word)

Renaming, destroying and occupying is what invading armies do after planting their flags. The riots are seen as battles and terrorism is now an acceptable strategy. The mayors and governors of blue states have surrendered. We may not think we’re at war with them but the radical left thinks they are at war with us. Those of us who came of age before 1968 have watched this whole thing play out over several decades. Communists, SDS, The Weather Underground, Occupy Wall Street, the Black Panthers, Bill Ayers, Bernadine Dorn, etc. are still here, some under different names.

The number of convictions
The number of days spent in jail
The number of children born out of wedlock
The number of high school days attended
The number of days gainfully employed
Lifetime earnings on which taxes were paid
Democrat or Republican

Kind of interesting that by adding an "o" in front of "lives" you can make it say "black olives matter" and by making the "v" in "lives" into an "m" by adding two vertical lines you can make it say "black limes matter." I wonder if anyone will be tempted. When I was an adolescent in the 70s I would have been SO tempted and it would have been for fun, not for ideology.

Watch the movie BLACK LEGION 1937 with Humphrey Bogart. It relates the story of the Black Legion which
uses the same tactics as Black Lives Matter. It's just like the KKK and just as backed by the D'Rats.

There is a New Yorker whom I revere but I doubt de Blasio ever heard of him. Pierre Toussaint was born into slavery in Haiti. The Berard family who owned him, left when the revolution began by Toussaint L'Ouverture began to ravage the island and relocated to New York City. Berard lost everything and died soon after. Pierre supported his widow from his job as a hairdresser. He was VERY popular with the upper class ladies and became a wealthy man. He supported job training for orphaned black children, gave generously to the Catholic church - he went to Mass daily and was a well respected philanthropist. He deserves to have a street named after him, but knowing de Blasio's mindset, it will probably be some drag queen.

What saves this bozo is that a lot of people have to travel to NYC for business. I used to go there three times a year, mostly for business. I haven't been there in at least 10 years and have no plans to do so in the future. I refuse to subsidize his hijinks. As to the people of NYC--they voted for him; they can live with him.

This nonsense about the rest of us staying home, and trying to guilt us into doing it for protection of the older generation who served in WWII is beyond the pale. I think it was Governor Nutsy Cuomo doing the narration for the commercial too. The commercial is especially ridiculous, given all the rioting that has destroyed their stay at home mantra.
