Just as the Islamic State (ISIS) claimed territory in Iraq and Syria, antifa militants have claimed territory in Seattle, Wash. According to reports on the ground from The Post Millennial’s Andy Ngo and Townhall’s Julio Rosas, protesters and antifa instigators have seized land in the Capitol Hill area around the Seattle Police East Precinct. Like ISIS, the rioters appear to have decided on setting up a government in their occupied territory, naming it “Free Capitol Hill.”
“Seattle [Mayor Jenny Durkan] is allowing a dangerous situation to fester. [Antifa] militants have taken over & created an ‘autonomous zone’ in city w/their own rules. Police precinct abandoned.

After calling for a ban on confederate flags at NASCAR events and donning an 'I Can't Breathe' shirt at Sunday's race in Atlanta, Bubba Wallace, the stock car circuit's only African-American driver, has unveiled a new 'Black Lives Matter' paint job for his No. 43 car ahead of Wednesday's race in Virginia. 'I'm excited about this opportunity to run a "hashtag" BlackLivesMatter car for Martinsville, one of our best race tracks—my best race track for sure,' Wallace said in an interview posted on the Richard Petty Motorsports Twitter page. 'This statement that we have right here that we're about to make, running this race car

NASCAR is finally showing a red flag to the Confederate flag.
In a major move for the sport of stock-car racing, NASCAR announced it is banning the Confederate flag. “The presence of the confederate flag at NASCAR events runs contrary to our commitment to providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for all fans, our competitors and our industry," NASCAR said in a statement on Wednesday. “Bringing people together around a love for racing and community that it creates is what makes our fans and sport special. The display of the Confederate flag will be prohibited from all NASCAR events and properties.”

VATICAN CITY — Pope Francis called George Floyd by name, twice, and offered support to an American bishop who knelt in prayer during a Black Lives Matter protest. (Snip) Francis “wants to send a very clear message to these conservative Catholics here who are pro-Trumpers that, ‘Listen, this is just as much of an issue as abortion is,’” said Anthea Butler, a presidential visiting fellow at Yale Divinity School. Butler, who is African American, said the Vatican is telling Catholics “to pay attention to the racism that is happening and the racism that is in your own church in America.

Have you heard that a six-block section of Seattle has become an anarchist “capitol hill autonomous zone,” or “CHAZ” for short?
It has. Police and firefighters vacated their premises and bugged out with a Twitter blessing from Mayor Jenny Durkan. Durkan dithered over the descent of protests into violence for a week before doing much, and when she did much, her choice was to tweet in hasty retreat.
Anarchists quickly set up CHAZ to be and do its own thing, as long as that thing conformed with diktats of the CHAZ hierarchy.
They put up makeshift signs saying, “You are now leaving the U.S.A.”

Cornel West and civil rights attorney Leo Terrell were supposed to have a civil segment on defunding the police, urban violence, and Democratic incompetence at addressing these issues, but things went off the hinges almost immediately. It was absolute mayhem on Sean Hannity’s show on Fox News. Hannity prefaced the segment about the Democrats’ inability to govern, which was interrupted by West. The shouting began almost immediately. Terrell hit back at West for just recycling old Democratic talking points. He then tried to have a discussion with West, “black man to black man,” which West did not take well at all.

Tuesday on MSNBC, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said she is ignoring President Donald Trump because she believes he “doesn’t have anything to do with the reality of the situation.”Host Stephanie Ruhle asked, “When you talk about racial justice, national security, these are issues that matter to all Americans. The way the president is saying it, these are liberal rules, as though you’re trying to create a lawless society. That’s obviously not what you are doing. So when you look at the term defunding the police, how do you define it?”Pelosi said, “Well, first of all, I don’t pay that much attention to what the president sa

Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden told CBS News on Tuesday night that he wants to select a running mate “who is ready to be president on day one.” “It’s really important that whomever you pick as a vice president agrees with you in terms of your philosophy of government and agrees with you on the systemic things that you wanna change,” Biden said. “And is, in fact, going to be able to be someone who is not at all intimidated by the president, not at all intimidated walking in the White House. And is going to be prepared to give their unvarnished opinion

Seattle has been making big news in the last couple of days. The first major story emerged Tuesday when police ceded an entire neighborhood to Antifa and Black Lives Matter, representatives of which barricaded a large segment of the Capitol Hill neighborhood and declared the area an “autonomous” community, separate from Seattle itself. The second newsworthy story occurred when thousands of leftist protesters led by Black Lives Matter and Antifa entered City Hall shortly after midnight on Wednesday, demanding that Mayor Jenny Durkan (a Democrat) resign.

Recently launched streaming service HBO Max on Tuesday confirmed it removed the 1939 epic "Gone With the Wind" over racist depictions but said the movie will return later with more context.
The original film will be brought back "with a discussion of its historical context and a denouncement of those very depictions," a spokesperson for the service said in a statement.
The move comes amid furious calls against racism and for police reform after the death of George Floyd, a black man who died May 25 after a white Minneapolis police officer kneeled on his neck for more than eight
