Distraught Chicago officials complained to Mayor Lori Lightfoot -- as looting and rioting in response to George Floyd’s death swept through the Windy City -- pleading for help and warning that the vulnerable had lost access to food and medicine.
According to a tape obtained by WTTW News of an online conference call among the city’s 50 aldermen and the mayor, one alderman could be heard weeping while others angrily decried what was going on in the city. “My ward is a s4it show,” one alderman says. “They are shooting at the police.”

The lost blind leading the lost & blind. Rejoice in your greatness as a model city of Democrat policy. Feel good about yourself. Do the right thing and defund and abolish the police and spend the money on universal income, start-up quick response social worker teams that race to the scenes of murders robberies and other crimes and they can hand out phone lists to welfare offices and gift cards to Walmart for buying necessities like beer, wine, cigarettes, and Beer Nuts and Cheetos. Get with the program ok. There is a solution.

Not only do elections have consequences, so do the words from the Foul Mouthed Mayor. More than once she has used four letter words as she addressed President Trump. NOW...she is asking for money to clean up and repair the trashed out retail stores, pharmacies and grocery stores. WHY in the world should Trump care about Chicago? They are never going to vote for him. They constantly trash him and their Mayor hates him. I say, let them wallow in their own Mess! Trump is never going to carry Illinois (even though I know first hand there are a lot of Republicans there, just not enough). He should just let the people in Chicago deal with what the MAYOR they voted into office let happen to their City. Maybe they will be more careful next election. Maybe, but I doubt it!

Hard to believe how utterly clueless these officials are. How could they NOT know that this was going to erupt, and especially in Chicago? None of these people should ever be in a position of authority again. Gutter language and dumb as a brick.

In my youth, whenever I heard the word "looters" it was usually associated with "looters will be shot on sight".
This was accepted by nearly everyone as the law of the land, even if unwritten. I still subscribe to this. Maybe adjusted to "shot at" at first.

In private they ALL know what needs to be done. What baffles me is that they won't do what is right and best for themselves and citizens. The only answer is that they are so steeped into Communist Ideology they can't think anymore, even if a solution is good for everyone...that is the sad pathetic result of Communist thinking, PERIOD.

Isn't it interesting how in public, all of the Aldermen are all for BLM and their crazy de-fund the police agenda and other dangerous social engineering plans for everyone. Behind closed doors it is an entire different story. They also gloss over the part about the gangs. In the absence of the police (too busy dealing with rioters and looters), the gangs are stepping in to protect their turf. This is what will happen if police are de-funded. Gangs will quickly stake out their territory and "protect" businesses (for a price) and their turf. Look for even more shootings in Chicago and other big cities.

Officials (politicians) get distraught (panicked) when they suspect that looting and arson may not be helpful come ELECTION DAY (election day). Otherwise they couldn't care less. PS the level of civil discourse in Chicago seems to be VULGAR.

Absolutely no sympathy here. These aldermen have been entrenched in Chicago politics for awhile and have done nothing to stop the crime and violence that has occurred in their wards for decades. In fact they put hindrances in the path of police to make it harder to do their jobs.
They turned up their noses when it came to law and order. Now they are POed at the mayor. Sure, she deserves it but they were complicit in this mess. Had they been POed at her at Day 1 perhaps the damage would have been less than it was. Now we see a blame game occurring. These aldermen are as much at fault as the Lightfoot lesbian.
Chicago never seems to have the stomach to do the work to make that city a safe, vibrant place for their citizens.

"...as looting and rioting in response to George Floyd's death swept through the Windy City..." No they were not in response to his death, his death was used as an excuse to loot and riot. We need to get this straight. No one knew or cared who George Floyd was a month ago and he will be forgotten in six months.

And what would be the definition of 'stablized'? Would that mean only one murder a day? Five or less in a day or only 10 in a week? Less than 15 murders in a 24 hour period? Its not like the bar can be set too high.

Rather than defund police departments, it makes more sense to eliminate the "strong mayor" framework for municipal governance and adopt as most successful, thriving cities have done, the Council-Manager framework. Under this framework, the mayor is but a voting member of the council, presiding over the council agenda, and a professional city manager runs the day-to-day operations of city government, as the various department heads (e.g., Police, Fire, Public Works, Code Enforcement, etc.) report to the city manager. The city manager serves at the pleasure of the city council and is not an elected official. The "strong mayor" form of administration almost guarantees an unholy mix of politics and administration, which only rarely works out in the best interest of the city but is more often a springboard for furthering a mayor's political ambitions.

Just a small taste of what it will be like every day in Chicago once the police are gone.
Order hates a vacuum. And when there are no police, and a large disarmed populace, the gang bangers with the guns will quickly take over. The whole city will be nothing more than waring gang zones.
Anyone with more than 6 active brain cells would know that. But the mayor of Chicago is about 5 active brain cells short of that threshold!!!

By doing nothing they have proven what we know and that is that innocent inner city blacks are herded like sheep to slaughter by gangs of vicious thugs who will establish burn the neighborhood down to establish their unquestioned rulership. Time to bring in the Active Army and Marines and regain control then send the Federal "tab" to Mayor Lightfoot-fungus.

Lightfoot was the candidate people voted for who were fed up with the machine that has run Chicago for generations. She beat the machine candidate Toni Preckwinkle in a landslide, capturing more than 70% of the vote. But she has turned out to be a tremendous disappointment at every turn.
The question then becomes: would Preckwinkle have handled any of it better? The evidence would suggest not. It would be one thing if Chicago had been the only city overrun with looters and arsonists and rioters. But it wasn't. Just look at Seattle, where Antifa has taken control of 6 square blocks and declared it THEIR territory.
American cities were trashed because none of their leaders, mayors, police chiefs, any of them, were prepared for the level of planning, organization, communications, and willingness to burn them down that they face in this current iteration of the left. Neither were they able to adjust on the fly. None of them understand the reality: they are in a war, nothing less.
Antifa has been preparing for this for years, practicing, training, rehearsing. And now it is on. They have kicked off their "revolution." But it is destined to be a failed uprising. It will end badly for Antifa, and they will take many failed city administrations down with them. Good riddance to them all.

To all the "Woke" morons that keep electing Democrats believing they will abolish racism, how's that working out for you? For those of you educated by our failed public school system here are the names of just a few prominent Democrats there were also KKK members.
Robert C Byrd - U.S. Senator West Virginia
Edward Douglas White-Chief Justice of the US
Hugo Black-Associate Justice of the US Supreme Court
John Brown Gordon- U.S. Senator from Georgia
After the Civil War the KKK engaged in terrorist raids against African Americans and white Republicans at night, employing intimidation, destruction of property, assault, and murder to achieve its aims and influence upcoming elections. Sound familiar?
I suggest you educate yourselves on the shear historical evilness of the Democrat Party before you vote for one in the future.

On the call, others took aim at Lightfoot herself for her response to the crisis. One man, identified by WTTW News as Ald. Raymond Lopez, demanded that Lightfoot develop a plan to stabilize Chicago’s neighborhoods for five days, calling his Southwest Side ward “a virtual war zone” where armed gang members were threatening to shoot black people. When he demanded she respond to the remarks, Lightfoot told him he was “100 percent full of s--t.” “Well, f--k you then,” Lopez responded. I COULDN'T HAVE SAID IT ANY BETTER. Truth from the Dems only comes when they think no one is listening.
