If Joe Biden was a forensic pathologist his name would be Dr. Michael Baden.
(Snip)
In recent days, he has fanned the flames of “cover-up” by reporting that Mr. George Floyd was indeed choked to death despite the county medical examiner’s finding that Floyd did not die from asphyxiation and he did not die from strangulation.(Snip)And if you aren’t careful you would believe it but Michael Baden is a hired gun and he is used by attorneys to say what needs to be said to drive pubic opinion and drive the civil lawsuit settlement higher.
The truth is Michael Baden didn’t do an autopsy.

Ha. He's the medical version of that "psychiatrist" who pschoanalyzed Trump without ever meeting him. Everything with the Left must fit their narrative, and if it does it's considered true even if it's pure fantasy

The slime ball AG in Minnesota intentionally rung up the charges greatly increasing the likelihood of the cop being found not guilty of murder 2 but a lessor charge or acquittal. This powder keg will be taken to the jury in October, certainly before the election. If so, you know the attempt is in to reduce the current charges. I would NOT want to be a juror on this case..

As a potential juror...I would answer every question with undying support for the police. "Dismissed" from jury duty! Whew!!! Don't want any part of what is coming when this is litigated. The tinder box is being loaded again right now! And by the fall, there will be NO Minneapolis police department. Good luck everyone. We have the car loaded and full of gas and are ready to head west. We are 1 mile from country side...and will drive till save. West and north!

Well, yeah, but he probably stayed at a Holiday Inn Express the night before, so it's OK.
/s off
Ben Crump's doing, and his paid stooges are "on the case", pushing out lies, which are amplified all day, every day by the Enemedia, working overtime to drown out the tiny bits of truth that get out there like....
the ACTUALY autopsy, by the guy who cut the body open and looked inside, says:
"III. No life-threatening injuries identified
A. No facial, oral mucosal, or conjunctival petechiae
B. No injuries of anterior muscles of neck or laryngeal
structures
C. No scalp soft tissue, skull, or brain injuries
D. No chest wall soft tissue injuries, rib fractures (other
than a single rib fracture from CPR), vertebral column
injuries, or visceral injuries
E. Incision and subcutaneous dissection of posterior and
lateral neck, shoulders, back, flanks, and buttocks
negative for occult trauma."
And the ACTUAL pathologist says he found fentanyl, norfentanyl, 4-ANPP (an illicit drug precursor in the process of making illegal fentanyl), methamphetamine, three kinds of THC, smoking and caffine in his blood. The man was a walking drugstore. Oh, and he had sickle cell blood disease, and the primary symptom of that is "shortness of breath".
Lots of reasons that Mr. Floyd would have trouble breathing, sickle cell disease, two kinds of serious heart disease, and a blood stream chock full of illegal drugs.

When in need of a Heimlich maneuver because you cant breath you place your hands around your throat and look (rightfully) distressed. You don't say help I'm choking or I can't breath simply because if you can't breath YOU CAN"T TALK.
Meth and Fentanyl ? That's better than V & V (vodka and valium) Drug OD. Not saying that the cops didn't do any wrong, but I seriously doubt murder.

And the significance of the lack of petechiae, listed in finding IIIa is?
According to one online source:
"A petechial hemorrhage is a tiny pinpoint red mark that is an important sign of asphyxia caused by some external means of obstructing the airways. They are sometimes also called petechiae. Their presence often indicates a death by manual strangulation, hanging, or smothering."
Not found on Mr. Floyd.

Baden has been around for a long time. He loves being on TV. He was involved in the Casey Anthony case and was on TV every day giving his opinion. You always find him when it's a high profile case. Not surprised he was called. If they pay enough, he will always come up with the "findings" that you require to win your case! Nasty Little Man!

I don't know if Chauvin has an attorney yet, but I bet a few are chomping at the bit to take his case. There are all kinds of issues surrounding George Floyd's death that could create doubt in a juror's mind. And it was reported yesterday Floyd had COVID-19 on top of all his other health problems.

The same thing happened with Michael Brown, which sparked the whole "Hands up don't shoot" nonsense. Dr. Michael Baden was involved in that case as well, he was hired by the Brown family, and also gave a conflicting account of the official autopsy in that case. He's a fraud for hire.

I wonder if the black woman who had a gun stuck in her pregnant belly by Georgie - - while his friends rifled her house and stole her money - - has anything to say about this?
I also wonder if it will be revealed that Georgie overdosed on a lethal combination of fentanyl and amphetamines - - and that the police actually extended his pathetic life by keeping him from flailing around - - and killing himself the way Freddie Gray did?
You know - - at this stage - - what difference do those things make?

As the saying goes, "A lie can be half way around the world before the truth has its boots on." I was sucked in by the initial reporting. Now that the facts are coming out, I have changed my opinion. Too late for most of the liberal-leaning types, though. We need to burn this place to the ground is their answer. Thanks, #7, and others for continuing to amplify on the facts.

This kind of trauma can result in facial petechiae, particularly around and in the sclera of the eyes. There would also be bruising on his neck and facial abrasions from the pavement.......all consistent with strangulation. So far......nada.

If Baden gets anymore face time he'll have his own show on REELZ TV channel like that other guy that reviews celebrity and high profile deaths. Baden is a court room ham sandwich who shows up to put his two cents in. He's to autopsies what global warming is to the left. Who was in the casket when Al Sharpton stood there bloviating?
This all stinks of a set up count on the 'ebb and flow of the negro' (riots) when the trial happens.

Baden has the right to state his own 'opinion', even if he knows he is lying, and to be paid for his efforts...heck, politicians do the same thing every time they speak.
OTOH, critics have the right to factually expose his lies.
The question is, which side will get enough public airtime to affect the optics.
While the facts should matter, what often drives public opinion are the 'optics', or perceptions, which don't need to be factually accurate to be sensationally attractive.
As the article points out, Baden was not hired to do a second autopsy...he was hired to enhance the perceptions of the narrative.

It was inappropriate for the policeman to keep his knee on the mans' neck. Yes, the man was a chronic jail-bird and druggie. His poor family! But the policeman was entirely disgraceful and deserves punishment and loss of his job.

The cause of death in the Autopsy that was performed was "Cardiac Arrest." The definition of death is that the heart stopped beating, that is, Cardiac Arrest. Cardiac Arrest is the end result of all deaths. It is like saying death is the cause of death -- a sloppy attempt to “cover-up” the cause with nonsense! The cause death may be from asphyxiation, strangulation, stabbing, gun shot, cancer or many other causes.
Dr. Michael Baden may have been guessing at the cause of death, but he was correct that it was a “cover-up.”

You may also want to keep the thread from the WTOP reporters twitter feed that says no tear gas was used, and force was only used by the Park Police after the Park Police were attacked.

In fact, the autopsy showed that Floyd had no trauma on his body whatsoever. His ingestion of fentanyl and methamphetamine combined with a pre-existing heart and hypertension history contributed to his death. And murder charges were brought against Officer Derek Chauvin because the medical examiner added that the “restraint” also contributed to the death of Floyd.
Let's at least try to be self-consistent here. After spending months rightfully chastising the CDC for instructing pathologists to list covid-19 as the cause of death even if it were only believed to have been present as a contributing factor, we're going to do exactly the opposite thing here? If fentanyl, meth, hypertension, and heart condition all "contributed to" his death, what was his cause of death? There has to be something listed for that on his death certificate.

#28. I followed your link to the report and did the math. It appears he had an amount of fentanyl in his system that was more than enough to start surgery. 2-20 micrograms/L or 2-20 ng/mL for surgery.
He had 11 ng/mL or 11 micrograms/L.

We weren't there, but aside from Chauvin, three other officers looked on, at least one telling Chauvin to ease up, but they did nothing. They heard him saying he couldn't breathe? There will be a trial. Let's hope for the sake of law and justice that it is fair, and that right NOW passions cool. I despise this unending strife, and it IS stirred up by the Democrats in general, and the Left, mostly because they have tried everything else to oust President Trump and now they're trying to make this a POTUS vs the Country event.
Pray for our Republic. And pray that those causing strife, hatred and violence are thwarted and defeated.

I think folks are missing an important point here. Even if he wasn't asphyxiated, holding him down for 8 minutes and 46 seconds on the hard cement with his knee on his neck while Floyd was crying for help saying "(he) can't breathe" and calling for his mother most clearly contributed to his death. When a police officer takes a person in custody, he is responsible for his safety and well-being. People here seem to forget that. The man needed medical help and they ignored him and pleas from bystanders to help him. They told the bystanders to get out of there. Even after Floyd became unresponsive, they did not do anything for him. Former Minneapolis police reviewed the video and commented on how Chauvin had his hand in his pocket while he kept his knee in his neck, indicating no agitation and he felt there was little or no threat (they call it code yellow or white). This means he didn't need to keep the pressure on as there was no struggle. When the ambulance was finally called (whenever that may have been) , it came in as code 2 (no lights nor siren) -- not code 3 for life threatening condition. So, clearly there was no concern for Floyd's life at all. By the time the EMS arrived, there were no signs of life and they didn't even take his handcuffs off until after they loaded him into the ambulance. Sorry, but regardless of his health issues and the drugs and alcohol, he probably wouldn't have died if he hadn't kept his knee on him long after he stopped talking/breathing and if they had called for an ambulance earlier. All of them had callous disregard for his life...and over what? $20? He didn't have to die.
The knee maneuver is also not an acceptable use of force in most places, and it certainly was not appropriate to the situation. By the way, they say he had sickle cell anemia which can make it hard to breathe. Sickle cell is almost exclusively found in blacks. Using a tactic that puts pressure (even for a very short time) on main arteries and veins in the neck on someone who has sickle cell jeopardizes the person's life.
No matter what, the cops were wrong. Sadly, this kind of thing happens too often and not only to blacks. Rogue cops are equal opportunity abusers. I have seen way too many abuses of power by police in my lifetime. It reflects badly on the good ones who are just trying to do their jobs. But it is also the responsibility of the "good" ones to report the bad and to stop protecting them or turn a blind eye. Until they all do what is right, we will never get past this problem and people will not trust law enforcement.

No matter that Floyd in actuality was a habitual criminal with quite a past criminal record, and all the potential circumstances casting doubt on how Floyd died. What the heck was that Minneapolis cop thinking who had his knee on Floyd’s neck for that long? Why would a 19 year police veteran be using such a potentially dangerous tactic that did not appear to be necessary in that circumstance?
There is really no controversy among just about everyone viewing the video that the cop committed a homicide against the life of Floyd.
