Nothing better reveals the depth of the madness afoot in the land than the demands to defund or completely abolish the police. It’s bad enough for airhead celebrities, something worse for the formerly prestigious New York Times, and downright alarming for office holders, state and federal to indulge the fantasy that thin blue line is all the separates us from anarchy, mob rule, and ultimately a dictatorship spawned by the need to restore order. (snip) there is a real-life experiment in complete withdrawal of police protection that occurred a century ago that is available to learn from. The Boston Police Strike that began September 9, 1919

Include the fire departments and the EMS. Without Police protection these people are in great danger.

Anarchy is the tool totalitarians use to fuel a thirst for order and control. When you can't over throw a government you undermine it. They are akin to the French revolutionaries not our forefathers.
Some 2nd amendment supporters think that this will be a setback to the gun control crowd because in the absence of police protection people are taking things into their own hands. I fear that this is deliberately orchestrated to force us into defending ourselves so that the carnage can be blamed on freedom.

Go ahead and let the blue cities do it. On the condition that afterward they are completely on their own and will not receive any federal funding or law enforcement assistance no matter what happens.

Go for it. Since I live over 1,000 miles away, and don't get a vote in NYC, or any of these other lunatic places, who am I to complain if they decide that having no police is a good plan.
I think that they will very, very quickly be quite unhappy about it if they actually do it. But, gee, let's call it a scientific experiment. If SanFran or LA, or Chicago wants to give it a run. Have at it. It won't slop over into my area.
They really are insane, and agreeing with the insane makes you insane, too.

A municipality without law enforcement would make the Purge look like a Sunday picnic. That would be a green light to the criminals to do whatever they wished to do. The leftists want Anarchy. They will get that if the LEOs are ever told to get lost.

Announce the plan to defund and remove police as well as emt and fire services. But do it by area and hold a vote in the areas. give normal people a chance to make their choice then act on it. make the residents make a choice then live with it.

This is not stupid or insanity. It is Marxist Communism. It is the deliberate dismantling of the greatest country ever formed by man. Do not look away by using substitute words that allow dismissal of our true and frightful situation. Do not look away because you live in a rural area or in the heartland and think big city liberal policies do not affect you.
Every state has been infiltrated by the radical left, but not by Californians or New Yorkers moving in and "still voting the same way." If that were true those two states would have to have the population of China. This canard is used to displace blame onto unidentifiable outsiders when the rot is already well established in your "red" states, it just hasn't reached the visible stage yet. With federal education standards are you really sure what has been taught in your schools and universities for the last 40 years? Is not Oberlin in Ohio? Every state capital has their version of "K Street". Who writes your state's legislation? Is it really your legislators? Mayors in cities and towns in every state across America all rushed to have their George Floyd "protests" and signal their virtue; whether it turned into riots or not every one of those "protests" was a town submitting to Leftist tactics. Good people who sincerely want a just society believed the propaganda and played into our enemies hands. Do not look away.
No man is an island. No ranch, farm, village, town, city or state in our country is an island. Do not look away.

I took a short walk, just over 1/8 of a mile, to a UPS store this morning. I counted 10 businesses that have boards on their windows, at least one was post looting, I don't know about the others. A jewelry store has several p.c. messages on the boards covering their windows, including "defund the police". And just who will they call when their insurance company asks for a police report after the next robbery?

With as evil and violent as the lowest scum of the Earth have become, every day would be "The Purge" in those most lie-beral of cities that implemented this. Hopefully the good people could get out before the last cop pulls out.
What is left will be the violent hell-hole that the anarchists are dreaming of!!!
