The commenters at the source are more agitated about the soy-boy response of the Fire Chief than they are about the blocking of the fire trucks. Was there a non-lethal way to push thru that criminal mob to get to the fire sooner? The child (children?) got saved but the city learned that mobs ranked higher than babies on their city gov't scale for fire and police.

Police depts are in a bind - if they act too harshly on these 'freedom fighters' the optics and criticisms will show it as brutality. They are forced to stand down and weep. They cannot quell a street mob destroying businesses and property with a fire hose - they certainly cannot plow the entire fire truck right over the mob for a child in a burning house. It would look bad. So, sorry if I can't offer the good Chief a tissue. Perhaps Eric Holders' Rules for Police Depts (he did clamp down on all that 'enforcin' they were doing) will take another look at which ones are working or not. Obviously - they missed all the problems in Mn.

Senator Kaine is very much tied in with AntiFA. His son Woodrow was prosecuted for criminal AntiFA behavior. He used to be Mayor of Richmond. Let's give this story a title, that's utterly correct: Friends and associates of Richmond Mayor (Kaine) attempt to burn young children alive. Mayor says nothing. Mayor's friend, McAuliffe, and other friend Mark Warner, also equally silent. Hillary Clinton nods and winks.

There's no real penalty anymore for insurrectionists. Demonrat governors have changed laws to the point where insurrectionists, murderers, rapists, whatever thug, need no longer have to post bail or go to jail. Demonrat governors made it so. Then you have comrade demonrat judges who religiously side with the thugs. Even the FBI and DOJ was weaponized to the glory of Barry's Thug Army. #20 - cathartic to consider. But realize then that the driver will be portrayed as worse than the tank driver in Tianamen Square, who was stopped by one guy standing in front of him, because he wouldn't run him over. Remember the enemedia and the way they manipulate public opinion and stoke the rioters.

Sometimes big political developments arrive in the country like Sandburg’s fog, on little cat feet, silent and unnoticed until they envelop the nation. The emergence of Donald Trump four years ago is an example. Though a loud and clamorous candidate, he seemed to many like a kind of political clown destined for defeat. Establishment politicians believed almost to a person that the “blue wall” of Democratic electoral dominance would hold against this guy. The Midwest would stay solid, and Hillary Clinton would win the presidency.

lasdair MacIntyre, from After Virtue: But protest is now almost entirely that negative phenomenon which characteristically occurs as a reaction to the alleged invasion of someone’s rights in the name of someone else’s utility. The self-assertive shrillness of protest arises because the facts of incommensurability ensure that protesters can never win an argument; the indignant selfrighteousness of protest arises because the facts of incommensurability ensure equally that the protesters can never lose an argument either.

Three cities, all supremely liberal, represent an American descent into anarchy against which no one is standing. After New York Mayor Bill de Blasio said he wanted to slash the police budget, the New York City Council is going about cutting $1 billion from that budget, about 16%. That will inevitably cause a reduction of police presence around the city and, with equal inevitability, result in an increase in crime. In Minneapolis, where George Floyd was killed in police custody on May 25, the city council plans to disband its police force entirely. On Friday, the city council voted to replace the police with a “community-led public safety system.”
