New Jersey Health Commissioner Judith Persichilli and senior officials in Gov. Phil Murphy’s administration clashed behind the scenes over the cost of a $500,000 no-bid contract for a consultant the state hired to help navigate the deadly coronavirus crisis inside the state’s nursing homes, NJ Advance Media has learned. Murphy announced May 6 that Persichilli had retained Manatt Health, a national health advisory consulting group, to assess the state’s response to the coronavirus in long-term care facilities, where one in 13 residents have died in the pandemic. And Persichilli seemed in full accord with the governor. [split] But inside the administration, a different story was playing out.

Sounds like a PR group looking to deflect blame from the Murphy Admin for the mis-step of routing Covid positive patients to nursing homes where people most vulnerable to the virus are housed, without sufficient facilities to segregate the Covid positive from the other patients. Is it better than Cuomo saying they followed the CDC guidelines, even though they clearly did not? We will see.

As a NJ resident, I can say we have a governor who exposes the most vulnerable to a deadly disease while preventing people from exercising and increasing their health. NJ voters will re-elect him when he runs again, because NJ voters are STUPID !!

Hire incompetent leftist fools to lead you, and you will ALWAYS get horrifically bad outcomes. In normal times, they can "sort of " muddle through, and things only get moderately worse. In abnormal, stressful times, when REAL leadership, intelligence, foresight and planning are needed.....leftists are totally left out, they have none of these skills. In fact, they sneer at these things, having avoided them their whole lives. Sometimes the results are lost opportunities, other times the results are lost lives, lost businesses, lost fortunes, lost health. You folks voted for this slug. Enjoy his tenure.

MAY 6th!! Good God, for 3 months they were sitting around with their thumbs up their bums. From the very outset, in Washington State, it was obvious where the greatest danger lay, in the long term care facilities and they did NOTHING to prepare. Criminal.

"And Persichilli warned what would happen when the contract would ultimately be released under the Open Public Records Act." There's the real reason right there. The report might find the killing of nursing home patients was deliberate.

My initial reaction was that Navarro occupied a position in the Trump Administration that wouldn’t have afforded him access to this kind of “inside information” with regard to the status of a closely-held criminal investigation. At the same time, however, his background and portfolio of responsibilities made him one of only a limited number of people who were part of the true inner circle of the Trump White House.

WASHINGTON — Two Republican-led Senate committees issued a politically charged report Wednesday on the work Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden’s son did in Ukraine. Biden’s campaign immediately panned the report, released six weeks before the election, as an effort by an ally of President Trump to damage his election opponent. Trump has repeatedly drawn attention to the issue even as his own administration has warned of a concerted Russian effort to denigrate Biden and asserted that a Ukrainian lawmaker who is involved in spreading anti-Biden claims is an “active Russian agent.”

As many of us continue to deal with the enduring impact of COVID-19 on lives, families and our country, it’s easy and even normal to spend our days thinking only about this virus. It’s the focus of news broadcasts and email alerts, the focus of businesses thinking about how to weather a world of distancing, the focus of families homeschooling children, wondering how they’ll pay rent and whether they’ll get sick. The pandemic has created chaos that has drawn a thin and temporary curtain over Trump’s enduring incompetence and dishonesty — behind it, he is actively sabotaging oversight and the rule of law at the same insatiable rate.  Corrections**

As we reported two days ago, Joe Biden completely made no sense when he was trying to explain the Wuhan coronavirus relief bill. It was really bad and it explains why they’re afraid to have him deliver an address to Congress or do any kind of a real solo press conference, because at this point they have to be afraid this is all going to fall apart if he does anything live and this all becomes too obvious to the American people. But there’s only so long that they can hold this off. And it’s getting worse, as video today revealed. Biden was holding an event to announce the nomination

Her bill HR 1 trashes the U.S. Constitution in an attempt to rig the system and make it virtually impossible to elect a Republican president or Congress again. It’s a power grab. The bill eviscerates state voting laws and forces all the states to conform to a set of rules that includes automatic voter registration. Anyone who goes to a DMV or applies for food stamps, Medicaid or other social services, or attends a public college will be automatically enrolled to vote. I’m probably second to none in my dislike for Meghan Markle. There’s something unattractive about a mature woman marrying into the British Royal family with one of the world’s most expensive weddings, hanging out with the Queen, living in insane luxury…and then whining non-stop about the horror of her life. There’s something even less appealing when that woman accuses the Royal family of race hatred. And the problem is that, when it comes to that left-wing diva, Meghan Markle, it’s hard to believe most of what she says. After weeks of hype, CBS finally televised Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s interview with Oprah.
