A CNBC segment quickly erupted into a fiery debate between hosts who battled over the rally of the stock market and support of President Donald Trump. The hosts of CNBC’s “Squawk Box,” Joe Kernen and Andrew Ross Sorkin, locked horns Wednesday as they sparred over the spike in the stock market in an apparent reaction to optimism in the reopening of the nation’s economy after months of coronavirus shutdowns.(Video) Sorkin contended that “a lot of smart people” agree that there is some skepticism about how some stocks were rallying so quickly even though the pandemic had caused so much disruption and unemployment in the country.“Why is that the smart people?!

I despise Sorkin. A couple months ago I sent an email telling CNBC that I refuse to watch if Sorkin is on. They actually responded and told me they do read and consider viewer comments. I’m mot holding my breath they will remove him.

It is really sad and despicable that I have heard all day long that more than 100,000 people have died in this country and we lost as many as have died in the Vietnam War. Pretty much most of these talking points "reporters" laying the blame on Trump. Just for once, I would like to hear someone say that more than 100,000 people died in this country because they were killed by the CHINESE GOVERNMENT! But that's expecting waaaaaaayyy toooooo much!

In a way I am glad they are fighting among themselves. As for Trump, he has done a great job. As for the economy, investors are not stupid. Investors know the economy is going to recover. Sorry to disappoint the Democrats, but Democrats are wrong about everything, and left reason behind decades ago. Best for them to stick with their hysteria, which is all they excel at.

Wow. The Murder Inc. Party now openly shouts in public air their absolute hatred of any pluses going on with the economy and their hatred of President Trump. Did anyone hear a peep from these disgusting commies when Barry the Impaler killed over 120,000 during the Swine Flu? Nope, I didn't think so.

Nobody lives forever, and it is very sad that many people died from this disease. This is caused by a virus, not caused by any person in the USA. We need to remember to NEVER trust China, and that China is evil.
Some leaders did a good job attempting to contain things when extremely little was known about the virus, and much of that which we thought we knew was false, coming from China. And much of the "expert advice" was wrong, some very wrong, some we will never know if it was right or wrong, since we took one path can never actually know what lay down that 'path not taken', regardless how many people say that they "know" what would have happened. They don't.
Some leaders made horrible, incompetent, deadly choices, like Cuomo pushing infected patients into nursing homes. Some made good choices like DeSantis sending special trainers and extra PPE to nursing homes, and getting far, far fewer deaths because of it.
And the insane Left is still screaming hysterically and twisting everything they can get their hands on into a weapon to try to harm the President.
IMO, Trump has done a very good job. And we WILL be reopening much of the country now and soon, less the insane leftist controlled states where they will try to harm their states, hoping to somehow "get at" Trump.
The Left sees that they are failing again, and that the President is succeeding again, and that their "standard bearer" is a frail, demented old man who was such a bad speaker 30 years ago that he plagiarized speeches, and who has gotten far less capable since then. They are in a hysterical rage as the President drains the Swamp, and dismantles the terrible things that The Zero and his wrecking crew put in place, and while their coup plotters are unmasked, and may be indicted.
It is wonderful to watch them freaking out. Continue on, losers. We'll just watch you disintegrate, as America recovers and moves onward.

It was the responsibility of governors to take the lead when President Trump put the travel ban in place on January 31. Instead, Democrats started putting together a bill to ban it. When did they change their mind? The obvious answer is when the impeachment failed and now they realized they were being stupid about the travel ban when they could be creating hysteria and panic. And that they did. If responsibility had been shown, governors would have put nursing homes, hospitals, doctor's offices on high alert. And that they didn't.

And most of the deaths came in areas controlled by Democrats.
Like any disease, covid caused deaths. Democrats caused the death rates to be worse. My middle finger upraised to you, Dems!!

Sorkin represents the party of death. Pissed that he had touted investing on the “2.2 million” deaths that didn’t happen.
Joe never caved. That’s what melted Andy. It’s happening everywhere. Wanted Florida deaths to spike; swore Georgia was gonna drop dead.
Now they are hoping for a second wave to make their point. How horrific is that?

Tempers are flaring because the scam did not work and the damage is minimal. We are supposed to be scared and still shut down like good little citizens. Instead of hurting Donald Trump the whole virus thing raised his popularity and that drives them nuts.
I met a nice little old Jewish lady a few weeks ago and we had a pleasant conversation. She sent me a friend request on FB and immediately began posting anti-Trump rants. She holds the record for the fastest "Unfriend" in my history.

Ironic that China allowed this virus to escape into the US before Trump stopped their movement...the result was a massive Liberal die-off.

Sorkin is a typical effete leftist New Yorker masquerading as a financial genius. Kernen is a politically middle of the road financial analyst who is pro-capitalist and pro business. It is inevitable that they would clash and this is not the first time, although it is probably the worst difference of opinion to be expressed publicly on CNBC. I used to watch Squawk religiously but I find Varney and company far better.
