Richard Grenell is out as acting DNI, with the newly appointed John Ratcliffe taking over the job today. Some have speculated that Ratcliffe, who was savagely opposed his first time around, was quickly put in place this time because of how effective Grenell has been. I’d say that’s a good bet, as he’s gotten more done in three months than the previous DNI got done in three years.
One of the things he’s gotten done is finally start declassifying long held documents which show corruption by the Obama administration. We’ve seen the revelations involving Michael Flynn, and that appears to just be the tip of the iceberg.

I think Trump has things for him to do.
He could be his hatchet man.

This may be too clever by half but if Grenell is a freelancer of sorts then Congress and the media can't harrumph about another Trump official and threaten him with investigation or removal etc.
I don't see Grenell going silent either by nature or based on his comments to date. As a 'free radical' (but not the Marxist kind) he can make mischief however he likes.

The various layers of classification on documents and other forms of information has always had a good purpose and that is to keep our methods, movements and people protected from the rest of the world. The system was not designed to hide corruption and wrongdoing, especially from the American people, but it seems to be used more often for that than for its original purpose.

The President never lets good talent go to waste. I expect to see Mr. Grenell back in an important capacity soon. He is just too good to let go. Maybe he could teach a Master Class for the wimpy do nothing Republicans and show them how it’s done.

Boom! Take that Warner, you slime. I hope the President allows Ratcliffe today and names Grenell to something big tomorrow.

Grenell is, and has been all along, once of the most courageous and principled individuals around.....my only hope is that Trump puts him in some position Grenell wants, and can do well in.

Isn't Warner one of the 3 senators that signed a letter to the Ukrainian president, basically injecting themselves in to the Ukrainian fiasco, asking for information that they could use during the schiff show?

Grenell's only error will be not releasing what he just declassified. Ratcliffe is not gonna rock the boat.

My suggestion is to NOT give Grenell a permanent position, but instead move him around every few months to head a different federal agency (IRS, Education, State, etc.). Call his new role "Special Decrappifier to the President." This guy gets things done. I would lay odds that within 2 years, the swamp would be cleared, the economy would be humming, and the Democrats would all be hearing the lamentation of their women.

Grenell is no only smart and highly educated, but also has courage, principles and street smarts. What a treasure he is. I'm sure President Trump has something big in mind for him.

PT finds himself limited by Advise and Consent.I think more acting directors may be the way to move Senators off the dime, and I'd suggest Ric Grenell at the top of the list. FBI, anyone?

Warner is a perfect example of a corrupt, cowardly, stupid, vain, power-mad, dangerous, evil politician. He deserves any sort of a bad thing that can possibly come his way, ten times over.

PlanetGeo (#13) the path is clear on this.
President Trump Broke the Code.
The crooked, homophobic 'Rats are NEVER going to confirm Grennell to ANY position, so President Trump can appoint him as 'Acting' to whatever position needs cleaning up the most. Then, nominate who he wants (who also, like Ratcliffe, would NEVER be approved by the 'Rats under normal circumstances) and who, like Ratcliffe, will receive INSTANT confirmation, just to get Grennell OUT of wherever he is at the moment.
FBI Acting Director Ric Grennell has a nice ring to it.

Ric Grenell is a rising star. As others have said, PDJT is not one to waste talent. I think we can expect to see RG play some very important roles in this administration and going forward.
