Reading a weekend story in Campus Reform helped us see more clearly what we’ve been witnessing for decades. The political left is driven by an urge to supervise every aspect of our lives. It’s a corrosive impulse that shouldn’t be accepted anywhere in a free nation, let alone practiced. The backlash needs to begin now. If not, our liberty will eventually be overrun. The story is from Michigan State University, which published an article claiming that video conferencing is full of “unconscious bias.” In it, MSU social science professor Amy Bonomi says: Unconscious bias includes using language, symbolism and nonverbal

"From Speech To Consumer Choice, Democrats Believe Everything Must Be Policed" Except abortionists, of course. Except abortionists, and the streets, of course. Except abortionists, and the streets, and the borders, of course. ... Basically, just you... You should be policed. Not what they want to do.

In the mind of a liberal, everything should either be outlawed or mandated. Except abortion of course as #1 points out. Allowing choice leads to violating politically correct dogma.

Good time to remind ourselves of Reagan's admonition - Loss of freedom is just one lection away. We are at a stage now where PDT has smoked the Democrat/Media complex out in the open. They cannot afford another election. Dangerous times!

I am reminded of The Once and Future King, when Merlin takes the prince into the ant kingdom. "What is not prohibited is mandatory". That is who they are. That is what they do. All of them are little Ayahtollah Khomenis, desiring to control every aspect of our lives. Freedom is anathema to these folks. They yearn for monarchy and feudalism. Only each of them wants to be the King. Sorry. Only one King at a time.

The left has deputized all their constituencies who now think they can stop you on the street and lecture you for not wearing a mask, for getting to close to someone, for not doing what they have been propagandized to do. It is getting very nasty, and I have had enough of it. I declare war on the left, and am issuing a stop and desist order.

“Conservatives” are no different. They just have a different list of policing priorities. Things that were none of your business are now government business upon demand of the public.

One additional bit of irony (and evidence of cluelessness) in professor Amy Bonomi's assertion of "unconscious bias" in video calls was the way she was dressed for her own presentation. I wouldn't call it a microaggression, but perhaps a microsuggestiveness. Yes, there was the obligatory prim and professorial jacket, but the fire engine red blouse was blaring 2-alarm cleavage beneath it, with a teasingly low necklace pointing right at the source of the microblaze. Do I object to such micro-suggestions? On the contrary, I find them uplifting. But the professor should mind her own foreground if she's going to complain about our background.

Last summer, fed up with Democrats’ claim that theirs is the “Party of Science,” we pointed out that it is in reality the Party of Science Fiction. We hope others have had their fill, too, and public opinion will force the Democrats to grow up. “Science” is never invoked by the political left to illuminate, educate, or guide. It’s used to terminate discussion, to shut down debate. It’s employed in exactly the same way “racist” has been used for decades. Not as a legitimate charge but a bomb thrown into a conversation in an effort to “other” the person or

We are hard-pressed to identify a single redeeming feature in the 600-page “stimulus” bill that has now passed the Senate and House on a strict party-line vote. You’ve got to hand it to AOC and Bernie. These nutcases actually pulled it off! Some of our friends point to the dollars for vaccine distribution. We don’t object to that, though if we simply let the private sector handle the vaccine program, odds are it would happen faster. The other $1.7 trillion is negative for the economy and jobs. There is nothing in this bill that stimulates the supply side of the economy -- i.e., the production of goods and services.

H.R. 1, the Democrats’ just-passed “election reform” bill, laughably dubbed by supporters the “For The People Act,” is so bad you might be tempted to ignore it. After all, legislation this awful can’t get passed by both chambers of Congress and signed into law, right? But all Americans should take it seriously. It’s an attempt to take away your right to vote and create permanent Democratic control of the federal government. Yes, elections have consequences, and terrible bills like this certainly prove that. Anyone who voted for the Democrats in 2020 hoping for a “turn to the center” should by

President Joe Biden wasn’t too happy when Texas and Mississippi decided to reopen their economies and liberate their people from statewide mask mandates, calling it “Neanderthal thinking.” But wait a minute, who’s following the science here, and who isn’t? While Biden is clearly in love with the idea of the government forcing Americans to wear masks and keeping heavy restrictions on businesses, the science is piling up showing that these measures are not very effective, if they are at all. One Swiss group, for example, found 10 studies challenging the effectiveness of masks. One is a Danish review that compared

COVID-19 cases are plunging. Vaccination rates are booming. The economy is rebounding. States are running budget surpluses. Schools are reopening. All without the benefit of President Joe Biden’s “urgently needed” $1.9 trillion spending spree. So why aren’t supposedly moderate Senate Democrats standing up to oppose this Treasury theft, which will be paid for by future generations? Just this week, we learned that Texas has dropped its mask mandate and is lifting limits on businesses. So is Mississippi. Biden said that vaccines will be available to all Americans by May. A report showed that manufacturing is growing at the fastest pace

It was clear during the 2020 presidential campaign that Joe Biden was a man in decline. Yet the Democrats ran him as their candidate anyway. Was their obsession with removing Donald Trump from the White House worth turning over the federal machine, with its nuclear codes and ability to destroy innocent people, to a man whose faculties are failing him? Biden’s cognitive challenges have been obvious to anyone who’s willing to make an honest assessment. In both public appearances and in controlled conditions, he’s slurred words, spewed gibberish, stumbled through remarks even with the aid of a teleprompter, and often

Dr. Anthony Fauci has impressive credentials and a lengthy tenure as a top-level government health official dating back to 1984. But his performance during the COVID-19 pandemic has been abysmal, with politicized non-science-based edicts and frequently reversed “medical advice” that have confused and frightened Americans. Just a week ago, Fauci made what to some was a stunning admission: “We’ve done worse than most any country” in managing the outbreak, he said. We say “stunning” because Fauci, as head of NIH’s National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, is the official most responsible for the U.S. response. His 2019 pay of

The just-passed Equality Act no doubt sounds wonderful to many. Who, after all, can disagree with a bill to “prohibit discrimination on the basis of sex, gender identity, and sexual orientation”? But it’s a wretched bill, one that would have many terrible consequences. Passed Thursday by a 224-206 vote, with only three Republicans in support, the legislation now goes to the Senate, where it’s expected (but not guaranteed) to fail. After all, the same bill also passed the House early last year, only to die in the Senate, where it needs 60 votes to get beyond that chamber’s filibuster. With

President Joe Biden recently defended his $1.9 trillion COVID bill by asking critics of the plan: “What would they have me cut? The bill is riddled with spending unrelated to the COVID crisis, gifts to big unions, bailouts to states that don’t need them, and bad economic policies. It is, in short, a monument to Democratic-style political corruption bought with money borrowed from our children and grandchildren. The second is his selection of appeals court judge Merrick Garland to be attorney general. For those who don’t recall, Garland was nominated in March 2016 for a seat on the Supreme Court. As we reported two days ago, Joe Biden completely made no sense when he was trying to explain the Wuhan coronavirus relief bill. It was really bad and it explains why they’re afraid to have him deliver an address to Congress or do any kind of a real solo press conference, because at this point they have to be afraid this is all going to fall apart if he does anything live and this all becomes too obvious to the American people. But there’s only so long that they can hold this off. And it’s getting worse, as video today revealed. Biden was holding an event to announce the nomination

There’s something unattractive about a mature woman marrying into the British Royal family with one of the world’s most expensive weddings, hanging out with the Queen, living in insane luxury…and then whining non-stop about the horror of her life. There’s something even less appealing when that woman accuses the Royal family of race hatred. And the problem is that, when it comes to that left-wing diva, Meghan Markle, it’s hard to believe most of what she says. After weeks of hype, CBS finally televised Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s interview with Oprah.
