Journalists are pack animals. That’s especially true in Washington. Despite the hunger for scoops, when it comes to the substance of stories, few have the guts to go against the ideological groupthink that prevails in our nation’s capital.
That’s what makes CBS’ Catherine Herridge so exceptional. In an era when too many network journalists slant their reporting to serve establishment opinion, Herridge sticks to the facts. Her dogged determination to get to the bottom of stories has made her an invaluable source on the national-security beat.
Her sterling quality and integrity have also put a target on her back.

Catherine is a true journalist and was disappointed when she left FOX. Then I thought, maybe she'll be a good influence at CBS ... the old Tiffany Network, home of Edward R Murrow. No, they are deeply infiltrated with lefty headline bots. Catherine please don't change your ethics and keep your integrity. You have many admirers who are looking for you to report the truth

Working for CBS, NBC, NYT, CNN is hardly different than working for the Soviet media 70 years ago....so Catherine hopefully has a good pension plan and other options...ask Sheryl Atkinson how being honest and fair worked out with working with the media

It's not easy being "the only one". One wonders why CBS, the former network of Sharyl Attkisson, hired her.

I hope, for her sake, Catherine has a golden parachute contract with CBS like Megyn Kelly walked out the door with at NBC.

I never understood why she left FOX unless they were trying to stop her from reporting the truth. FOX has changed and not for the better.

They used spy techniques to monitor a political opponent, then they used some of the same spy techniques to inhibit the peaceful transition of the Office of the President of the United States, and then later, knowing the premise was false and without any substance or merit, continued to obstruct the 45th President of the United States from installing his administration to lead the country.

All the journalism majors who "wanted to make a difference" now work to ignore the biggest story ever, one that is right under their noses. You could drive a Mack truck right past them and they would never know it.

I don't understand CBS hiring her. Don't they know the locker room problem this can cause?

And this is why there is no journalism, anymore. Sometimes they are physically attacked by their colleagues if they ask the wrong sort of question of their current Messiah in Office. They are blacklisted, or simply silenced through editorial decision. I wonder what America would be like if, provided the facts could be confirmed, every story journalists wrote or researched could be sent to the public if their employer refused to publish it? I'm sure certain parties would try to abuse it, but it couldn't be worse than what we have.

Was concerned Ms. Herridge, whose reporting I trusted, had flushed her journalistic ethos when she went to CBS, would fall into the lamestream media swamp. Glad I was wrong -- -- so far. Bet the office atmosphere is pretty chilly. Stay safe, Ms. Herridge, and keep doing your job!

Can't we come up with a better name for this than "Obamagate"? By not referring to some particular action, event, or incident, it's too generic to stick in people's minds. It sounds almost like generic political opposition, where people consider everything about the opposition's leader to be so awful the very person is scandalous.
Not that I have a better name for it, yet; but we might as well call it Gategate, or the scandal scandal.
