I have a confession to make. I am sick…
…of coronavirus commercials. I in no way feel comforted by them, moved by them and I’m certainly not entertained by them. At the very least they make me want to change the channel. At worst they make me want to actively boycott the products.
I don’t want to see one more damn coronavirus commercial!
No more “We’re all in this together”…we are decidedly not. From celebrities doing Tik Toks from their palatial estates to Nancy Pelosi’s subzero freezer filled to the brim with expensive ice cream it has become increasingly clear that we are indeed not all in this together.

All right, I agree with her but can I vent about something else? My sister-in-law is in a hospital, she is dying of pancreatic cancer. She has been unresponsive since Saturday and my brother cannot even go into her room to comfort her. He can't hold her hand or talk to her to reassure her that he and their children are there with her because of the damn protocols. All I can do is pray that she is not suffering or gets well which I know is impossible. But I cannot understand why her loved ones cannot be in with her. Why can't my brother wear the same garments that the doctors and nurses wear. It has to be killing him, they have been happily married for 48 years. And this is happening all over our country. People are dying without their loved ones at their side and they cannot even have real funerals because churches have been closed. It's insane that people are being treated this way. Not just insane but criminal.

I thought I was the only who felt like this. They are so cheery, and happy, and uplifting, and fake. Do they really feel we are all doing exercises with our pets, redecorating, learning a foreign language, learning to play the guitar, playing with our kids and making homemade PlayDough animals? Just oozing with love and concern and warmth. Maybe if you are Pelosi, or one of the so called Hollywood elite and others who have more money in their accounts than they know what to do with. I know people who have filed two months of unemployment claims and still have not received a dime, or need to see, not on their phone but in person, a doctor. My husband needs a tooth pulled and can't get in, and he needs another sleep test that is not going to happen. Thousands of people are not getting the basic but important care they need. Let's show them reality. How about the bills piling up. Thousands waiting in line for food boxes. The majority of them have never had to do that. Farmers plowing under fields, businesses closing to never open, people losing everything because they cannot run their small business. Depression, anger, sleep deprived because of the worry over their unpaid bills. And we see Pelosi prance around in her $20 designer color coordinate masks. For some reason that is suppose to make us feel better. And the dems telling us we are bad immoral people because we have things to do. Now is the time to get moving before everything is lost. We do not want hand out after handout we want to work and get on with it. And that is the part they do not comprehend. They really thought they could just send us a check, take our freedoms from us without our knowledge and we would follow them into that dark night of socialism. I came across a quote this week and we need to make it our motra, "The greater the power the more dangerous the abuse". We can't let them get away with this. The dems have tasted power and they like it, no they love it. Time to can the balloon juice of the "we are the world" coronavirus happy go lucky commericals. Take extra precautions and if you want to stay home then do it. But get off our backs for wanting to actually live. Risks and all. Ok, I will get off my soapbox. But this has been bugging me for weeks.

B'H
Posters original, 1 and 2, I wholeheartedly concur.
#!, Please accept my prayers for your sister in love, her husband, your brother and family for her healing and comfort, and theirs. Dress up and defy the conventional wisdom which denies the love and comfort from her family.
Nuts to the "protocols"!!! Nuts to the "conventional wisdom" spouted by the "elites" of this political divide. Hissy fits and vocal denial of the false narrative are OK and necessary. . .we are more in numbers than we know.
The "elites" have been exposed, what shall we do about it??? Indeed: "The greater the power the more dangerous the abuse"

I hope everyone is taking notes. All it takes to stop the world is the media, and some 80 year old politician, and incessant media coverage 24/7, literally, for months on end. Millions are terrified to go outside. Millions can't pay their bills. Medicine to stop people getting sick is out there. It's been around for 70 years or so and works for other diseases aside from corona. I hate to use the word indoctrination but that's exactly what is happening, and look how easy it was. Yes, medical people have done the best job they could, but it's their job, they are paid to do it. I stopped watching news long ago, just cannot take the incessant parroting of the media who are thrilled to have this to report on.

Good thing I don’t have broadcast t.v. service; just internet. I’m missing out on cheerful fascist propaganda.

So sad, #1. I thought in cases of someone in the last stages of cancer, their spouse or one family member is supposed to be allowed to comfort them. Guess it depends on what State we're talking about, but I would pursue it to the Governor's office and then to the President if need be. Shame on those in charge. I have a neighbor who just had open heart surgery. His wife was allowed to be with him through the days he was in the Hospital. Of course, I live in Florida! We have a Governor who has common sense! Prayers for you and your family!

How sad #1, my heart goes out to you and your family.
I also feel for all the families that could not comfort and be with their relatives when they were dying in the nursing homes. This is a cruel way to treat someone that you care and love and the family will NEVER have closure. I keep thinking that they died all alone.

My prayers for you too, #1. I was not allowed to be with my daughter when she gave birth to our first grandchild in mid-March due to the virus protocols, but that pales in comparison to what you and your family have been forced to endure.
As to the commercials - turn off your television and pick up a good book. I haven’t watched television in over 15 years and haven’t missed it for one nano-second.

Agree 100%, we usually record everything so we can FF through commercials. Very satisfying to skip these annoying ads. Prayers for #1’s brother and sister in law, that’s absolutely and needlessly cruel.

#1 & all. My Bro-in-law was on life support in NY state. His wife was not allowed in to see him and he passed while in the hospital. Cuomo can go to hell.

Lose the Covid-19 commercials and the dramatic Covid-19 intro music that starts the news. You know something is going to be bad or droned upon endlessly when it gets it's own music. And to the hospitals who are denying people who are dying visitors..... really? They are going to die! You are not protecting them or making them more comfortable by denying them seeing their loved ones. I am pretty sure that hospitals could figure out a way to let those on their death beds to have limited screened visitors (especially spouses, children, close family members)!

#1 As a cancer survivor, I am so sadden by your story. Rise up Americans. Remember "I am mad as H-ll and not going to take it anymore" ? We have all had it. Can you appeal to your senator or governor?
I never replaced my TV but the radio is the same- all day every day. When I am at the computer I listen to Govi or I would be so stressed as "an older person with a critical illness" How insulting.
