We all wondered why the names of so many Obama Treasury Department officials appeared on the list of those who requested unmaskings of Gen. Michael Flynn’s telephone calls. The requests all came on December 14, 2016 and were made by then-Treasury Secretary Jacob Lew (Lew made a second request on January 12, 2017), then-Acting Assistant Secretary of the Treasury Arthur “Danny” McGlynn, then-Acting Assistant Deputy Secretary Mike Neufeld, then-Deputy Secretary Sarah Raskin, then-Under Secretary Nathan Sheets and then Acting Under Secretary Adam Szubin.

Leninists, all of them. I remember reading a statement (Jarrett? Rice?) in 2016 stating something to the effect that 'we're putting things in place that will make it impossible to undo' [the progress we've made]'. So far I haven't been able to find the article.

As stupid as it may seem the original reason that Gen Flynn was targeted by Treasury and other Obama administration officials was because after he retired he and his son formed a consulting group that worked with Russian and Eastern European clients. He was a frequent commentator on RT (Russian Television) that was just starting to grow as Putin's version of CNN. As a result of his appearances he was given a medal by Putin and attended a dinner in Moscow where he sat at the same table as Putin and famously photographed with him. This set off alarm bells in Washington despite having no evidence that he was anything but a loyal veteran who was just leveraging his expertise and making a few bucks in the deal. Naive maybe, but not a threaat.
This became really useful to the FBI and CIA when Donald Trump won and appointed Flynn to head the NSC. They thought they could tie Trump to Russia through Flynn's mythical Russian agent narrative. Very quickly the narrative fell apart in reality but the news media lapped it up from all the juicy leaks that the IC gave them.

FTA, "March 2016, the whistleblower said she and a colleague, who was detailed to Treasury from the intelligence community, became convinced that the surveillance of Flynn was not tied to legitimate criminal or national security concerns, but was straight-up political surveillance among other illegal activity occurring at Treasury.
“When I showed it to her, what she said, ‘Oh, sh%t!’ and I knew right then and there that I was right – this was some shady stuff,” the whistleblower said.
“It wasn’t just him,” the whistleblower said. “They were targeting other U.S. citizens, as well.”
Only two names are listed in the whistleblower’s official paperwork, so the others must remain sealed, she said. The second name is Paul J. Manafort Jr., the one-time chairman of Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign.
The other names include: Members of Congress, the most senior staffers on the 2016 Trump campaign and members of Trump’s family, she said."
Well, well, well. Could this be why certain Members of Congress aren't pursuing the guilty? The RATS have incriminating info on certain Pubbies in Congress? The silence is deafening.

The ENTIRE Obama cabinet was a criminal enterprise, top to bottom, front to back. ALL of it.
The Chicago Way - corrupt EVERYTHING, use EVERY power of the government as a way to gain power, to harm your enemies, to help your friends. Ethics is for fools, laws are for the little people.

LOL, #6. I think you meant Samantha Powers, but you sure had me going.....
Stephanie Powers was that really attractive actress who was in a TV series with Robert Wagner, and was also Bill Holden's great love before his death. :-)

Gen. Flynn tried to redeem a $100 savings bond - - before its due date. So naturally everyone in the Treasury Dept. unmasked all of his phone calls.
