They were listening in on what Flynn discussed. They knew nothing untoward was being done. Talking "frequently" to the Russian ambassador, basically more than Comey wanted him to, is not a justification to withhold information. If there were any real concerns, the normal thing to do would have been to provide a security briefing. Flynn is a security expert. He probably knew more than Comey about interaction with foreign representatives. There was no briefing because nothing was going on. Flynn would have found them amusing. Instead, the real purpose of all this "concern" was to fig leaf justify continued spying on Flynn in an effort to entrap him. Flynn refused to do anything stupid so they faked up charges. DOJ just said the obvious, that they had NO REASON to investigate Flynn and should not have interviewed him to no purpose to begin with. Since there was no legitimate investigation, Flynn could have lied with everything he said and it would not have been material so no crime could have been committed. Comey and BO knew this investigation was bogus. BO was looking to get some petty revenge for Flynn publicly disagreeing with him when he was in the administration. That pettiness is now about to bite BO in the tuchus. Karma.

Too much stuff is classified to keep it from American citizens, and that's what this is about. Our government was not designed to be a secret from it's citizens, but our legislators, both Democrat and Republican, are into hiding things big-time. This should stop!! Mush of it is likely done so we don't know they are stealing the country blind. Strange, no reporter, None, ever asks why they classify so much. I don't believe today's reporting class have the common sense of a fifth grader!! Ever notice how stupid most of then sound when talking?

With all this talk of no criminal charges against all these heinous perps, how about this. Present their criminality in a way that would strip them of all their perks, demand they must admit to their criminal actions and slink off to lives out of the public sector. Let them be the ones to initiate court proceedings if they think their names are worth salvaging. I for one dare them.

Yes, all of this is highly suspicious. Unfortunately, unless AG Barr appoints a special prosecutor to actually go after these perps, the media/DNC/BigTech axis will ensure none of this reaches the lemmings.

#6 re: too much classified.I While in the Navy in the '60s I was a Fire Control technician working on a Gun Fire Control System of late1940s vintage which was still classified as secret. I had to shake my head and think the Ruskies must be really stupid if they can't figure this thing out. I worked for the "largest defense contractor in the world" and saw similar classied nonsense. Meanwhile the Chinese are stealing the really good stuff from Gov't run National Labs.

I can't speak for the rest of Barr's investigation but I see no smoking gun here that would get anyone indicted. These guys have covered their tracks well - suspicious of frequent contact between the incoming NSA and the Russian ambassador so the FBI watches things closely. It's their job. The only weird part is where the outgoing President appears to green-light the FBI director to act independently and outside the incoming chain of command. Anything after 1/20/17 needs to be explained by comey.

Well #9, I used to think that way too as the supposed good guys bail from their oaths and moral responsibilities in elite Washington D.C. I do not buy it anymore. Our AG weighed everything and made his choice. The perks, social circles and juicy government careers for his family are just too good after being there thirty some years. AG Barr simply made a choice. He decided which side to come down on. His bread is buttered not by our President Trump but by his long time Deep State pals.

Susan Rice’s Email Proves FBI Had No
Legitimate Reason To Question Flynn

Yesterday’s release of Susan Rice’s inauguration-day email to herself provided further evidence of former President Barack Obama’s participation in the FBI’s targeting of Michael Flynn. The recently declassified paragraph in Rice’s email, however, proves significant for another reason: It confirms the FBI had no valid investigative purpose for questioning Flynn on January 24, 2017. In February 2018, Sens. Chuck Grassley and Lindsey Graham announced that as part of their efforts to conduct oversight of the FBI and DOJ they had discovered “a partially unclassified email sent by President Obama’s former National Security Advisor (NSA) Susan Rice to herself on January 20, 2017—President Trump’s inauguration day.”

On May 18, several filings hit the docket in the Michael Flynn case, but not the one conservatives anticipated since Judge Emmet Sullivan’s shocking announcement last week that he intended to seek input from amicus curiae on whether to grant the government’s motion to dismiss the criminal charge against Flynn. Those on the right decrying Judge Sullivan’s judicial overreach anticipated the prosecuting U.S. attorney to promptly petition the D.C. Circuit Court for a writ directing Judge Sullivan to dismiss the case. Instead, conservatives caught a glimpse of the circus Judge Sullivan has invited into his courtroom.

Saying that President Trump could solve California's deficit with a "stroke of the pen," Newsom said that without federal help the state will need to cut pay for some 2.3 million state employees. The rising wave of health fears, added costs, and vanishing tuition payments could crush small colleges, many of which were already hanging by a financial thread. Those that can weather the crisis—including big-name universities with billions in their bank accounts—in turn stand to gain big from the fallout. In national polling, former vice president Joe Biden is the clear 2020 front-runner. He's up nearly 5 points in the RealClearPolitics polling average; he's up in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Florida and Arizona. That's because Biden campaigned as the anti-Bernie Sanders: a "return to normalcy" candidate rather than a transformational one. His entire pitch relied on his high name recognition, the general perception of his likability and his unthreatening demeanor. The coronavirus pandemic merely underscored this pitch. Biden hasn't waned in the national polling since the pandemic -- his lead has been utterly consistent. That's true even though Biden has been relegated to his basement, gaffing through completely anodyne statements about COVID-19,
