We’ve never been perfect, but no one can deny we were a much better people, and country, during the much sneered-at “Leave it to Beaver” era.
R.I.P. Ken.

That was such an innocent era. If the show had been on today it would have a gay character and would be titled, "Leave It, Its Beaver."

This is sad news. Ken Osmond played one of the most memorable and iconic characters in TV history. R.I.P. Ken, you were a great original!

Ken, Rest in Peace, sir. You played a great part in the show. My real name is also Ken and I watched every episode of Leave It to Beaver. Back then, I just wanted Beave to pop you one right in the schnozola and "give you the business". But, I was just a kid then.
As an aside, my wife knows of no other woman on the planet who has ever vacuumed her living room rug while wearing a formal dress and stiletto high heels. But, June, sure did.

I worked with Officer Osmond when I was a Morning Watch (Graveyard) record clerk at Central Division, downtown on the ground floor of the old Parker Center (1974-76). He was very funny and very unassuming. The total opposite of Eddy Haskell, which tells you something about his acting abilities. He was really a good egg about his "claim to fame." As a Skid Row foot beat officer the majority of his bookings were drunks and ladies of the night, also usually drunk. In the cold light of the Watch Commander's office during booking his partner would ask the arrestee if Officer Osmond looked familiar. Generally, they were confused and the partner would reveal their brush with stardom, "You've been arrested by Eddie Haskell." Ken would confirm by saying, "You look lovely today Mrs. Cleaver." The looks and reactions were priceless.
I'm so thankful I got to know the man and the officer... and see the actor ply his craft. May the Perpetual Light shine upon him.

Mr. Osmond spent years as a LA police officer and was shot on the job, fortunately protected by a bullet resistant vest.
As a kid, I always hoped that Eddie would get a real comeuppance one day on the show....never did.

I think the Eddie Haskell character’s behavior was the inspiration for Adam Schiffhead’s.

Osmond was such a great actor as Eddie Haskell that he really had me disliking him. He convinced me that he really was a duplicitous person.

Rest in peace Ken. In today's world even Eddie looked passive.

Don't recall much of Leave it to Beaver from my childhood. But looking through Osmond's page on Wiki, I was struck by just how much his 2014 photo resembled Hillary's philandering husband.

The kid we all loved to hate. Everybody knew an Eddie Haskell, and nobody could have portrayed him better. He grew up to be a decorated L.A. police officer. I guess Eddie turned out okay. R.I.P.
