Governor Gavin Newsom on Thursday laid out some grim financial realities for the state as it faces far less revenue and far higher expenses in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic. Saying that President Trump could solve California's deficit with a "stroke of the pen," Newsom said that without federal help the state will need to cut pay for some 2.3 million state employees.
The next step will be negotiating with state workers' unions to hammer out the details of the cuts, which may involve furlough days or other arrangements. The pay cuts would begin as of July 1.

Is it stupidity or is it liberalism that has raped the state?

Stop giving illegal aliens a "free ride". That's at least a place to start to helping your state.

Perhaps Gov Knucklehead could explain WHY my tax money should be used to bail out his worthless left-wing behind? Do what a 100 million other people and families in the country are doing: cut expenses, prioritize spending and above all do what you can to make ends meet. The last thing we need is to give Cher, Reiner, and the rest of these talent-free hacks our money when we are barely staying afloat ourselves.

Last I heard he will start laying off cops teachers and firemen. But he will continue to pay hotel bills for homeless and finance welfare for illegals.

That's my question #7. There is no way California had a 6 billion surplus.

Governor GoodHair wants state workers to take a pay cut while at the same time he is giving illegals checks for $1200. Then again, this is CA and Gov Ad Nauseum will likely be reelected.

Note that operating budgets are not being reduced. You can't buy votes when you cut operating budgets.

A stroke of the pen backed up by payments out of my pocket for living in a state that is not going broke due to government stupidity. Well, not as stupid as California is anyway. They deserve to go broke, we have been telling them that they are going broke for years and their taxpaying citizens are leaving because they are tired of being abused. We owe you nothing! Newsom is a department store window dummy in a suit.

Blackmail against President Trump to ensure more demonrat votes for the pervert moron should the President veto the biggest state bailout in the country's history because of blue state financial incompetence? This is why I keep saying this coronavirus was all orchestrated to take down the economy, blame it on the President, then usher in communism - their holy grail. Fake Fuchu (D) got it going by funding the Chinese lab, then advising the President to shut down everything. I smell the Bilderberg hands in this too as well as Soros, the 'I Won' jihadi who did his part in attempting to destroy the USA for 8 years, as well as Bill Gates wanting inroads to come forth with a savior immunization with microbots to reduce the population. He's been saying over 350,000 need to die every day to reduce the world's population.

In other news, Cuba-fornia also announced that they are going to spend $75 million giving illegal aliens in their state $500 each to make up for the fact that they don't qualify for the $1,200 federal payments.
I know there are some good conservatives left in Cuba-fornia. I just don't understand why they are still there. It has to be living hell watching your beloved state implode all around you!!!

Surplus?!? Horsepucky. California’s multiple, multiple pension is such a disaster. There is the teacher pension fund, the State workers pension fund, prison guard pension fund, and many more. None of them are solvent. Also, Kalifornia borrowed mighty from the feds in 2009 to pay unemployment. Kalifornia has still not repaid that money, and they now want more.

As I have stated elsewhere
All CA polititions, dead or alive, Democrat, Republican, Independent...and at all levels of government, should forfeit ALL of their assets, real and monetary.
I include Ronald Reagan's estate. They are ALL responsible for the deficits.
Same for other States
