United Nations—China is going after the United States over more than $1 billion that the Trump administration owes the United Nations in unpaid dues for its regular operating budget and arrears for the separate budget for the U.N.’s far-flung peacekeeping operations. The unusual singling out of the U.S. non-payment by China’s U.N. mission comes as President Donald Trump continues to accuse Beijing of not being open about the coronavirus when cases were initially reported in December and early January.(Snip) The United States funds 25% of the regular U.N. budget, while China pays 12%. Funny, if it wasn’t so pathetic. And their timing continues to be exquisite, no?

Funny. It’s not arrears if we’ve told them we’re not going to pay it. We told them we were cutting them off two years ago. Why were there no accommodating budget cuts? Simple: they thought it was political theater and we’d pay up like we’ve done in the past.
Let me introduce to you, DJT.......

We should get out of all things UN, or at the very least, pay no more than China pays.
Read Michael Pillsbury's book, The 100 Year Marathon, to understand that we've dug our own grave regarding China.

Cut all ties-economic, business, banking, technology, educational - with China. Leave the diplomatic lines open. Make sure the Chinese know we won't stand for them stealing our tech any more. Send a couple of carriers to the South Pacific and get in their faces and stop them from constructing new naval bases in disputed seas. AND DO IT YESTERDAY.

Since we're such a bad country and won't pay everyone's share, we need to get out of the UN and then get the UN out of the US. Let them set up shop in their favorite country, Palestine.

If the UN wanted to get in the good graces of the US, it would take a different path than the one it is on. The UN has made it's bed, it can now sleep in it!

Pull the U.S. out of the U.N., and put the complex up for sale. In a perfect world DJT would buy the property, and construct high-rise condos on the East River site.

Here is the breakdown. Every country not listed is paying less than 1% of the annual UN budget. The problem isn't so much that the US is paying a disproportionate share, but that several countries aren't paying their “fair share” For example, Russia pays less than Canada, Korea Brazil, and Italy.
United States: 22%
China: 12%
Japan: 8.56
Germany: 6.1%
United Kingdom: 4.57%
France: 4.27%
Italy: 3.3%
Brazil: 2.95%
Canada: 2.73%
Republic Of Korea: 2.27%
Russian Federation: 2.4%
Australia: 2.2%
Spain: 2.15%
Mexico: 1.29%
Turkey: 1.37%
Netherlands: 1.36%
Saudi Arabia: 1.17%
Switzerland: 1.15%
