Florida Gov Ron DeSantis tore into other governors who have ordered 'draconian' lockdowns during the coronavirus pandemic on Thursday as he took further steps to reopen his own state. 'You're not a dictator, you don't have unlimited authority, and people do have rights,' DeSantis said in an interview with Fox & Friends. He made the comments after being asked if he thinks 'some of these governors that are just doing a one-size-fits-all for the entire state' are 'being too strict and going too far.''I don't think any governor has the authority to restrict anyone unless there's a direct relationship to combating this virus,' DeSantis replied.

DeSantis went too far himself. He closed the beaches in Franklin county, population 11,000 for 1026 sq miles. That included MY FRONT YARD, which is a private beach. In my area, there are 8 houses for 2500 feet of beach. The sheriff actually confronted my neighbors when they went out there. Asinine.

There must be some very dumb Governors in this country. Don't they realize the more dictatorial they are they more voters for President Trump they create?
Must be the Dictator Governors think we, the people, are very dumb, that the more they try to wreck the economy we won't see what they are doing and still vote for them...Idiots.

Our state has opened up partially except for my cou ty. We have had outbreaks, nursing home and chicken plants, so we are still locked down. Over 1400 tests were done last weekend, less than 50 came back positive. Go figure.

Elections matter! The leaders we choose matter. Republicans ARE NOT the same as Democrats. Can you imagine the difference if Andrew Gillum and Stacey Abrams had been elected in Florida and Georgia? I thank God every day that we have Governor Kemp here in Georgia and that he is calm, sane and CONSERVATIVE!

No Governor is going ‘require’ me to stay home. I never did comply with Whitmer’s asinine directives and don’t plan to start. If the business owners would collectively open their businesses this would be over. These rules are unconstitutional and unenforceable. She is playing on people’s fear.

The Chicoms' plan to invoke chaos here is working perfectly for the most part. They knew the left would weaponize Covid19 and in the blue states here, indeed they did.
My next door neighbors have family visiting for two weeks. A daughter, her husband, and children are in from San Fran. As dyed in the wool republicans, they couldn't take it any longer and had to get away from very unnecessary and very strict lockdowns being imposed by SF's hard left mayor. Why do they live there? Both being IT professionals, they had landed jobs there and stuck with SF...for now.

The Feminazi governess of New Mexico is brutal with her state storm trooper police. She will probably keep us in lock down passed all the summer holidays maybe beyond the Fourth of July. This is the bluest of blue states Joe Biden will carry the electoral votes for sure. By the middle of summer if we stay locked down the state will be devastated. Might as well turn it over to illegals coming across the southern border and drug lords. All for the hatred of President Trump's economic success the democrats would rather destroy America than to enjoy and celebrate it with everyone else.

I winter with a friend in Florida, and summer up in New York, but not this year so far. Not traveling. If CV19 had hit while I was in New York, I would probably have stayed there. Not sure.
Been comparing DeSantis and Cuomo.
Both shutdown their states, but DeSantis is definitely ahead of Cuomo on reopening. A friend of mine up in New York told me the county I live in (not NYC) is only starting to reopen. Florida is at least 2 weeks ahead of New York at this point. Florida has started to reopen every county. Even those around the hardest hit area of Miami. Compare that to NYC, and no idea when NYC will reopen. Florida has a 2 week lead, and it will likely grow.
New York was harder hit than Florida even though Florida has more population. Cuomo's handling of nursing homes was criminal. People died. The biggest thing DeSantis' critics are trying to pin on him is the state's antiquated unemployment system which was never designed to handle the number of cases coming in.
I would take DeSantis over Cuomo any day.
