Washington Gov. Jay Inslee is facing criticism for demanding that, as part of their upcoming reopening, restaurants begin collecting private information from their customers, including their names, their telephone numbers and their email addresses.“If the establishment offers table service, create a daily log of all customers and maintain that daily log for 30 days, including telephone/email contact information, and time in. This will facilitate any contact tracing that might need to occur,” a “Phase 2 Restaurant/Tavern Reopening” guidance issued by his office on Monday reads.Read the guidance below:

I don’t believe this is legal. I recall when the collection of this sort of information with payment by credit card was found to be illegal.

Create a "burner" email. Use gmail - you simply give that to the officious party. Only check that email if they need to send a confirmation email that you need to answer. Don't worry about the spam - gmail's servers can store it in teraflops. Create a version of your name ie, John Smith? Use Jay (J) Smythe. Telephone number? Make one up. Simple really.

The Gestapo used these tactics. I thought that issue was settled on May 8, 1945!

#4 Just don't do it.
Next they'll want our children's vaccination records or a DNA sample.
Or if you're going to make one up then get creative.

I don't recall all of the specifics, but I think that back in the late 1980's to early 90's, when AIDS was emerging, and a guaranteed death sentence back then, that there was wide spread public, social welfare agency and government opposition to any sort of registration record keeping that would identify those who had it. And none of the proposed remedies included record keeping requirements on businesses such as restaurants. Most of the remedy, back then, was to be personally responsible and not visit areas or participate in activities that put you at risk. What's changed since then?

Wifey and I are in our 70s. You can imagine our shock when a 20-something restaurant server asked us for ID to buy alcohol. She said she is required to ask 'everybody'. I refused and got up to leave when she relaxed her demand and served us.
To use a hackneyed phrase, 'Resist'

I'm waiting for a microchip to be inserted into my nether region or perhaps the tatoo of a bar code on my forehead. Why single out eating establishments? Maybe every time we leave the home we need to scan ourselves so THEY know we have left our lair. And when we go anywhere there are more than two people we scan again. Grocery stores are still open and working, I can get gas, go to the drug store and other establishments. Why do you only care about restaurants? America your government wants to stalk you, control you, take over your life, make all your decisions for you. The power hungry democratic elite want it all. They want your soul, the soul of America. I am sure they pray every night to whom ever they pray to "thank you for the virus". In four months the virus did what the dems have been trying to do for over 100 years. We can't let them destroy us because that is what they want.

It is so unnecessary. Just have it posted that because of the circumstances they will not be responsible.
How can anyone prove that is the place they caught it? Does this mean every place that deals with the public have to keep a list of everybody that comes into their place?
It is human nature to sue the company that has the deepest pockets if you have a problem.

Inslee is channeling the KGB and E. Germany's secret police. Leftists start with the exception to normal practices and then make it the rule. I'm sure Inslee can think of all sorts of "social good" that can come from knowing the whereabouts of ALL the citizens at all times.

This is unbelievable! Someone said tell them you don’t have a phone. A friend wanted to get her hair cut awhile back. They asked for her phone number. She said she didn’t have a phone. As soon as she said that, her phone rang. 😀
