Elon Musk, CEO and founder of greenie auto manufacturer Tesla Motors, has stuck a thumb in the eye of California's petty tyrants. (snip) Unlike Dallas salon owner Shelley Luther who was basically a small fry, drawing global attention because of the disproportionate power of state slammed onto her for just trying to feed her family, Musk is a big fish, an innovator, a celeb, a hip greenie progressive, and the CEO of a closely watched publicly traded company that's one of the state's largest employers

I've always thought he was a bit of nut job, but I applaud his push back...maybe he'll defect the dark side and in the process blow up the Death Star, that is the state government of California.

I'd be more of a Musk fan if he'd not use so much government money for his business. Too much underwriting and tax breaks, when greenies are complaining about tax breaks for the fossil fuel industry. He's the biggest greenie of all, because Agore is just a greenie scam artist.

I'm not a huge fan, but I admire his chutzpah.

My county. Fremont is my hometown. They know which side their bread is buttered on. There will be no cuffs for Elon. I guarantee it. Too many Fremont citizens are employed at Tesla. No action will be taken.

I wonder how Steve Jobs would have reacted to a shutdown. Like Musk, he was very liberal on some issues. But he was a workaholic and detested government bureaucracy.

So how is it, a guy that was raised in South Africa, does more to defend the US Constitution than all the "Big Three" in Michigan?

All the more respect for Shelley Luther because she is/was small fry. She doesn't have an entire department staffed with well paid lawyers defending her, tax breaks, pre-pandemic media positive buzz, etc. She showed real courage in standing up to a tyrannical, two bit Black Democrat judge - on her own.
But as for Musk, whatever and whoever can help to open up this country - more power to you.

Random thought: Is Hollywood movie/TV production shut down? Hardly a necessary business.

I hope he threatens to leave Nevada also, aka East Kalifornia.

Everyone in America is going to re-open, and soon. The pressure is too great for anyone to stand. The social distancing will be gone, and the masks in the trash by the end of June. The sports industry talks a lot, but they will abandon the billion dollar losses, saying it is now safe to return to their games. The Democrats will join the Republicans in passing laws to prevent legal liability. There is no other outcome. So I will sit and watch the thumbscrews of ruin turn, and see how long the opposition to opening last.

We'll see if Musk follows through. I tend to doubt it.

Winds of change is falling over California. First green man Musk and then Mr. Cheeseburger Michael Moore steps out and speaks truth to the nuts and fruits running California. Oh happy day!

Dyslexia Occasionally-Cognizant was strangely unavailable for comment on what is obviously CAPITALIST provocation. Come on to Texas Mr. Musk. We'll sort out the details when yo get here.

Elon Musk is into so much stuff, most people don't even have a clue. He is more than the Tesla cars, trucks, semi trucks, and self driving tech. He is Space X, also the Tunnel Boring Machine company. Solar panels, and the new solar roof shingles. The Tesla Power Wall and from his Tesla cars he has come up with a new Air Conditioning system that can be made to run household air conditioning. Musk is even into the Insurance business. He is insuring his cars. His ideas and technology are going to revolutionize lots of businesses. He may be goofy, but he is goofy smart. Look at some of the YouTube videos about what he is doing. I forgot, he is making huge advances in battery technology too. Lots of his ideas interconnect from system to system. The batteries make the cars, trucks, semi trucks and self driving technology better and better as the cost and power improve. Same with the Power Wall. He will even be buying up a tire company, so he can be his own supplier to his self driving taxi company. There is even more he is doing that is kept secret. Don't bet against Musk.

You are right on #16. At lot of long term gains ahead for all those ideas. Unless Musk dies. Whatever people say about him, he is the driving force behind all these ideas coming so far so fast. Without him they all go back to where they were.
