AUSTIN, Texas — Tesla CEO Elon Musk on Saturday said the electric car manufacturer will move its headquarters and future programs to Texas and Nevada “immediately,” in response to Alameda County – where the company’s Fremont, Calif., plant is based – advising Tesla to remain closed until June 1 amid the coronavirus pandemic.Musk also said Tesla is filing a lawsuit against the county, calling the interim health officer “ignorant.”“Frankly, this is the final straw,” Musk said on Twitter. “Telsa will now move its HQ and future programs to Texas/Nevada immediately. If we even retain Fremont manufacturing activity at all,

Even the lefties are being driven out of Cali-zuela by Democrat Corona-fascism. Please don't let them land here, though.

This will be a huge blow to the shrinking California income tax base. I would bet that Newsom will attempt to smooth this over with Elon.

Even though he is not a conservative, he is a businessman. Like the surfers in CA he is waking up to government overreach. There might be pressure on Newsom from sports teams. They have a lot.
It is amazing how many awful governors are out there - CA, NJ, VA, MI, NY, IL and MI to name a few.

What do they say about cutting a liberal deep enough... A Conservative begins to bleed. (Something like that)

I can understand why Musk wants to leave California, but why is he taking it out on Texas? What did they do wrong?

Read the article. This is about Alameda County, the county where his Fremont operation is located. Fine. Let him go to Texas. One fewer progressive Democrat.
My two bits say this will blow over and he’ll stay in Fremont.

If Tesla pulls out completely from the Fremont plant, it will truly be the end for that complex. No car manufacturer will ever risk moving back in. The local/county/state politics are progressive to the point of exhaustion. Business in the Bay Area can't sneeze without a permit. The air would be offended and we can't have that (snark off). Eventually that land will house soviet style stack & pack 'affordable' housing (starting at $850K), that is if there are any jobs to support the area.

'K, fine, move the manufacturing here BUT
be sure to tell all of the Californians that they really won't like living in Texas. We're all backward, ignorant. We are just now starting to build multi story buildings and most people still do not have indoor plumbing, electricity, central heat / air etc. The new residents will have to be taught how to care for their horses and live stock. They have to leave all of their gas guzzling fire breathing vehicles behind and will find out that commuting via hose or buck board is not really that bad. The covered wagons will be waiting at the west Texas boarder to bring them to their final destination since we do not allow aircraft withing our boarders !! It, it it should workout OK once they settle in and find that a weekly bath after sunset in a No.10 washtub outback using lye soap is one of life's little pleasures and that they really don't miss electrical lighting, horse flies, mosquitoes big enough to haul cargo, the occasional reptile in your sleeping blanket and may actually grow to love it here in Texas they way those of us who simply don't know any better love it !!

#14, you forgot to warn them Callies about our crusine: sugar in our tea, grits (with butter and sausage or ham or bacon), vast quantities of cow meat slow-cooked and we don't eat Santa Fe-style Mexican food here. We eat Tex-Mex!

I think it has more to do with the FACT that Texas has no state income taxes...
