A woman who was attacked and killed by an alligator in a gated community in South Carolina on Friday was trying to touch the animal when it grabbed her and dragged her underwater, authorities said today. After briefly getting away from the alligator, the woman stood in waist deep water in the Kiawah Island pond and said 'I guess I wont do this again,' but the alligator grabbed her in its jaws again and took her under the water, according to a supplemental police report released Tuesday.

Having grown up in FL, we kids knew everything larger than a puddle probably had a gator in it so steer clear.
To try and pet a gator, wow, talk about having no concept of the true natures of predators.
Hence why these people vote Democrat.

I mean really people, God put those massive sharp teeth and that sinister look into the eyes of an alligator/crocodile for a very good reason. Stay the hell away. I knew a guy in the Army who tried to was wrangling a "baby" 3 footer pulled out of a lake, and when he flipped from supine position, the teeth went right across his hand, severing all sorts of fibers they encountered. It took micro-surgery to repair his hand, and he barely escaped being Court Martialed for the alcohol-fueled bravado at a battalion party.

Have you looked up how alligators handle their prey?
They like their meat ripe, so they store it for a few days. Their teeth are good for biting, but not so much for chewing. So after the prey has ripened, they rip off chunks and swallow.
Darwin Award for sure.

In case you missed the memo put this down: Petting zoos do not have alligators, or crocodiles, or boa constrictors, or sharks. Now go out and play.

One less "liberal Dimocrat. Dumb as can be.
Remember the German woman who jumped into the Polar Bear cage in the German zoo? The American couple who went to the Alaskan wilderness to commune with the bears? Killed and eaten. I'll bet a lot of Republicans don't do that.
Alligators, Crocodiles, Sharks,....Killing machines, pure and simple. Zero respect for human life. We're just food to some creatures.

Why she would just stand there in waist-deep water having just escaped the gator is beyond me. Anyone in their right mind would have scrambled out of there is a quick furious hurry. Darwin for Aligator petting woman of the Year.

Around here, we call that ****-for-brains. You see it a lot in city folks, a whole lot less in country folks. These are the same Animal Planet fools who go up to pet a bison in Yellowstone, or similar lunacy. They imagine that wild animals are all in some kind of giant petting zoo.
And the OP is correct.

Years ago, in Gainesville, Fla, there was a small pond near an apartment complex where my wife-to-be was living that summer session of college. I was over picking her up, and we saw that the little gator (about 4.5 ft) had pulled up with his head on land to enjoy some sunshine and a nap. We walked over to about 20 ft away and looked at him a bit. When we were starting to leave an airhead college student, frizzy long hair, cutoff jeans and no shirt, walked up and looked for a couple of seconds. "Is it alive?" he asked. "Yes", I replied. "Nah, I think it's dead." and proceeded to remove a flip flop and start poking the gator in the snout. I told my girlfriend, "Let's leave quickly, this idiot is going to lose a hand and I don't want to have to help him out."
We quickly left, shaking our heads.
People are stupid as hell sometimes. That "little"gator could have at minimum mangled a hand or arm if it chose to.

I call this the DISNEY SYNDROME people seem to attach human characteristics to animals. If you live in Florida Disney is in Orlando ! The wildlife ain't your buddy, they don't sing, dance ,or want to commiserate with you.

My first thought upon reading this story the other day was that this woman had to be on drugs. Now, reading these details, I really think she HAD to be on drugs. High as a kite. Completely gonzo, dosed up heavily on meds.
Or, as others have said, just a Democrat because only democrats are that breathtakingly stupid.
