Florida has now officially reopened with most coronavirus restrictions being lifted as of today as about half of all US states partially reopen their economies after the lockdown. As part of the reopening in Florida, which has seen 1,300 deaths and 36,000 infections among its 21.5 million residents, retailers and restaurants across much of the state can open their doors at a 25 percent capacity. While some beaches across parts of the state were allowed to reopen last month, Clearwater Beach in Tampa officially reopened to the public before sunrise on Monday morning. Police removed 'closed' signs from barricades at 7am to the cheers of the 50 or so people

No worries, #1. Newsom is releasing more retail businesses on Friday. I live in the south part of San Diego county. I think he sees his political future going up in flames. Ha ha. It’s happening. Well done, Florida!

Florida grooms their beaches?
I’m from the left coast and we let Mother Nature groom our beaches.

25% capacity is better than nothing, but will probably not actually get them to even up to break even, let alone a profit. But, I'm sure that they will take it.
This is better than what we have in eastern KS, still all restaurants closed for sit down.

We live in Arizona, and this afternoon we received a one question survey call from Governor Ducey's office asking if we would agree to the lockdown being extended beyond May 15. My husband replied with a very loud and emphatic "NO!"
For what it's worth, Ducey is an extremely weak leader (for a Republican) and only makes decisions after checking which way the wind is blowing.
We're anticipating a favorable announcement within the next several days!

Thank goodness for DeSantis. AOL put out a hit piece on him today and every paid troll they could find commented negatively. Mayor Demings is a whole 'nother issue.

The Mrs. and I unofficially opened Pennsylvania today with a productive trip to the rifle range. I used up the last of my Obama targets.

Few restaurants will survive with a 25% cap on patrons.

Remember when Florida was going to drown in covid case/deaths? Remember the cruise ship, like vessels of death arriving in Florida, death and mayhem were going to follow? DeSantis has been navigating the pandemic seas quite well. And he treats his citizens like adults. Needless to say, I hope and pray it stays that way.
I think all Governors need to tell their citizens that there will be other deaths from this flu and from other normal flu strains and from a myriad of other diseases and accidents, et al. C'est la vie, as the French say.
Praying for the nation, for physical and spiritual healing, and for the evil, destructive spirit of hate to be purged as Democrats (and never-trumpers) have let their hatred of Donald Trump (and his supporters) corrupt and rot their hearts and minds.

And now my best friend of the last 38 years has serious cancer, undergoing chemo, and I haven't seen him since he got diagnosed. He can't risk anyone getting near him who might have this flu. His daughter came home to help and had to quarantine for 14 days.
This is miserable, in many ways.

Wait till the Second Wave stories and numbers start to be pumped out. They're all but mandating masks at work. I've about had it. Wife has nieces ranting on her FB page about people who won't wear masks....blah, blah, blah.
