A California couple who allegedly refused to sign a coronavirus quarantine acknowledgment after checking into a Hawaii hotel for their honeymoon found themselves on the wrong side of the law. Borice Leouskiy, 20, and Yuliia Andreichenko, 26, were arrested after leaving their Waikiki-area hotel by special agents for the Department of the Hawaii Attorney General on Thursday. "We appreciate the vigilance and cooperation of the hotel staff, and staff at other hotels, in helping maintain the health and safety of visitors and residents," state Attorney General Clare Connors said in a statement. "It is important that everyone flying into Hawai'i

Welcome to Obamaland. You are restricted to your hotel room. Enjoy the view, but you may NOT become a part of it.
No, our restaurant is not open. No, food delivery to guest rooms is not allowed.
Have a nice honeymoon.
Why are we even open?
Beats the hell out of me.
And, no, you may NOT leave your room for 14 days.
Aloha, suckers.

Notice the couple is named and shamed, but not the hotel. I’d like to know which hotel turned them in. No particular reason....

Put ‘em in jail for violating quarantine!!
Then let ‘em go cause jails are too dangerous.
Then lock ‘em up for violating quarantine.
Then let ‘em go cause jails are too dangerous.
Keep that up for 14 days.
Then let em go with a free ventilator courtesy of Hawaii through Donald Trump by reason of Hawaii having asked for thousands more than they need.

Why would they make a point that they refused to name the hotel? I would think that the hotel would be proud little Nazis and would be a popular lodging facility for all of the democrats visiting the island. I would like to know because I would make it a point to avoid the place when I visit Hawaii. My only reasons for visiting that left-wing place is to complete my visit of all of the states (I need 4) and to visit the USS Arizona Memorial. Fly in one day, visit Pearl Harbor, and fly out of there that evening. Get home and take a long shower. Check them off the list.

Unreal. I hope there is a sane judge who throws this out.
The adjectival forms of proper names are being wiped out by lazy, ignorant media children with 3,000 word vocabularies.
That is a Hawaiian Hotel you idiots. The dumbing down of America continues apace.

Asking a couple who have just married to stay 6 feet away from each other seems unreasonable. With a few exceptions.

Hawaii doesn't have a state fruit, but obviously it's pineapples -- brown on the outside, yellow on the inside.

We have all been put into prisons---for the public safety. Did the police test to see if this couple is any threat to the public safety? No, they didn't.

Heck #12, they had probably been having the honeymoon for several months by the time they tied the knot and wanted to get out and do some sight seeing.
When we visited Hawaii about four years ago, there were so many Japanese running around Waikiki that you would have thought that they won the War. The only place they avoided was the USS Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor.

In our Bizarro America, if the honeymooners were two men no one would have dared say a word to them. America! Wherever being a member of a religion that has killed thousands of homosexuals, or being a homosexual, will put you in a privileged class above the law.

What Hawaii is doing is unconstitutional! Sue the hell out of them and collect and to pay for the honeymoon and your future children's college education. The blue state idiots need to be held to account. No more!

Hawaii is overrated as a destination. Everything is hugely expensive. I should know, I honeymooned there in 1989. My wife and I stayed for 10 days: 3 in Oahu, 3 in Kauai, and 4 in Maui. It's certainly a beautiful place-rainbows everywhere-and I asked the concierge at the hotel in Lahaina, 'where do Hawaiians go on vacation?' She answered immediately: VEGAS.

The article isn't very clear but it seems that by coming from California, the couple had a requirement to self quarantine for 14 days.
Reminds me about the joke. What is honeymoon salad. Lettuce alone with no dressing. (for two weeks)

Wasn't Hawaii the place that forceably removed men, women and children to live out their lives in a leper colony?

Hawaii's quarantine order is almost certainly unconstitutional. It is overbroad under the Equal Protection and Privileges and Immunities Clause because it applies to every visitor, without regard to whether they have or have been exposed to the virus. It treats them unequally to Hawaii residents who are not under 14 day quarantines (they are allowed to leave their homes in certain circumstances). It is not a "law" as far as I can see but an governor's order. Therefore, it raises due process issues. It also interferes with interstate commerce by imposing a burden on the hotel industry--who is going to pay to stay locked in a room fore 14 days?

I agree #20. I've made several business trips there, and lived there a very short period of time. To maximize the HI experience one has to really like doing water related stuff; swimming, snorkeling, surfing, boogy boarding, fishing, etc. If you like those things like my wife and I do, then go. But, to many times I've seen families waking up and down Kalakaua Ave. arguing about where they should go shopping. Hint: if that's you purpose, stay stateside and shop; it's cheaper. Oh BTW, tribal politics suck.
