Dozens of dead bodies were found stored in unrefrigerated U-Haul trucks outside a Brooklyn funeral home Wednesday, according to two senior law enforcement officials. Around 50 bodies were discovered inside as many as four different storage vehicles over the past few days, the law enforcement officials said. The Andrew T. Cleckley Funeral Home, located on Utica Avenue in the Flatlands neighborhood, was using ice inside the trucks in an effort to maintain the bodies. A neighboring business reported seeing liquid leaking out from the back of the trucks — presumably water from all the melting ice — and called 311, according to

This is the kind of thing that makes me think of having a tatoo or a chip implant so that I could always be identified.... maybe have my DNA stored someplace. This is as bad as the stack of unclaimed bodies in the French morgues after the heatwave killed unattended seniors back in 2003. Oh, and all these people... will they be counted again as Covid deaths?

Let me see. NYC wasn't prepared in basic mascal capabilities, effed up hospital bed requirements, nurses whined on evening news that they didn't sign up to heal the sick basically, they continually cried for help from the rest of us because, you know, we're all in this together, and now can't properly handle our dear departed. What a lovely town.

Well all those infected dead bodies lying around that we are being shown in the newspapers are most probably only a fraction of the total numbers of dead bodies that have not been retrieved from residences and other locations around the City of New York where they are lying in very unhygienic conditions, and that is absolutely the fault of the Mayor and the Governor there when the death toll started raising, who should have months ago found and leased large refrigerated facilities where dead bodies can be brought to and stored until they can be properly laid to rest in accordance with the wishes of their families.

Since no one can leave their homes, how can family members claim the relative? Besides, that truck is a throw away after this. No way it can ever be used for anything again. The odor would be just overwhelming, and can probably never be removed. Having moved the deceased to morgues in hospitals more times than I care to remember, the smell even in those refrigerated morgues is something one never forgets.

A Cambridge man has been arrested on the charge of assault with a dangerous weapon after he allegedly pulled a knife on a jogger for not properly social distancing, according to police. Officers responded to a report of a man with a knife April 20 around 5:17 p.m. in the area of Putnam Avenue and Magee Street. Something interesting is happening to greenhouse gas emissions thanks to the coronavirus pandemic: They are plummeting. The world is seeing the lowest oil demand relative to supply perhaps ever, leading to oil futures contracts selling for negative values at several points. The International Energy Agency estimates that this year world carbon dioxide output will fall by a whopping 8 percent. If that pans out, it would be the largest drop ever recorded — some six times larger than the fall during the 2008 global financial crisis. That rate of decline is also approximately what would be necessary to achieve the goal

NEW YORK CITY -- A new subway cleaning plan was unveiled Thursday that involves a complete suspension of overnight service after Governor Andrew Cuomo ordered officials to figure out how to "disinfect every train every night." Several of the customers were told that they could return their vehicle if they leased another one. But the resounding message was that the dealer lots were full

No experts are remotely advocating for people to take up smoking to prevent COVID-19, but some researchers have theorized nicotine may be playing some role in keeping the virus at bay, Vice reports. That's because there's a surprisingly low rate of smokers among coronavirus hospitalizations. In France, for example, 25 percent of the population smokes, but only 5.3 percent of coronavirus patients have been recorded as smokers, and studies have found low rates in China and New York City, as well. Greek cardiologist and tobacco harm-reduction specialist Konstantinos Farsalinos thinks nicotine (crucially, not tobacco) might be lessening the intensity of
