It's not just Michigan where the bad calls from elected officials are being made.
Over in Southern California, more stupidities from local officials supposedly protecting us from the coronavirus are bringing us some absolutely ridiculous acts.
First, the surfers aren't backing down in Encinitas. The beaches are closed and the locals are still protesting, and now the cops are making arrests. Here was the scene yesterday as reported by local CBS 8: (snip: video) Get a load of that police activity. The surf rebellion seems to be a global phenomenon well worth noting because surfers themselves are not usually associated with political activity.

Precisely the reason those of us in the north state despise being connected with so cal. Two distinct philosophies and ideas on living. A separation line should be drawn from San Simeon east to the Nevada state line. Let them get their own water and leave our lakes and rivers be.

I've been surfing in Orange County for the entire length of the lock-down. They've attempted to take away the parking, so the walk (or bike) is a hassle. Nobody is safer for having done this. LA and San Diego beaches and ocean are off limits. On the positive side, since they've let many prisoners out of jail, there is now room for surfers and beachcombers.

Just another arbitrary tyrannical dictate from local and state petty tin pot dictators feeling Covid Strong... and of course their Barney Fifes that are "just following orders."

Yay surfers ! Yay beach people ! Yay hikers ! I have yet to be questioned by the "authorities" for my morning hour on my bike. Don't tell anyone but I stop in the park to feed the squirrels (Fearless, Hairless, and Clueless) free peanuts. They don't practice social distancing. I'm wondering if I can find some little masks for them.

The pandemic is a story of enclosed spaces: subways, prisons, nursing homes, cruise ships, etc. Policing the great outdoors -- where UV light kills the virus and open air allows the virus particles to quickly disperse -- is the kind of stupidity reserved for government.

Don’t want to give Governor Ralph Northam D-Va. any ideas but I fully expect the Appalachian Trail to be cordoned with razor wire before this is over.
Walking trails here are locked and gates covered with police tape. Saw an overweight lady with her athletic shoes and walking stick just staring at the locked gate. Great for her health!! Thanks Fauci.
We have no sidewalks in this little town. It’s heartbreaking. Dog park locked. Makes zero sense.
Never thought I’d live to see the day! Shameful.

Two questions: Is it possible for more than two people to all be closer than 6 feet to each other while surfing? and How many surfers are over the age of 60 and have respiratory ailments?

Hope all the dems, libs, progs, socialists, fascists and commies are enjoying their heaping helping of communism!
House arrest, being told what to do, where you can go and when, snitch lines, food and essentials shortages, lines at stores. The list goes on and on.

Arrested for violating what law? Executive orders are not law. Doesn't the left listen to itself complaining about Trumps executive orders?

Sun and heat are enemies of the viruses that cause cold and flu (which this seems to be). You seldom get colds and flu in the summer. People should be outside in the sun. The mayor is a fool.

The only disinfectant for such lame policy is found at the voting booth. Unfortunately, voters have short memories.

Here is something law enforcement should really worry about: The homeless camps of Los Aneles number about 40,000 residents. Add to the mix hundreds of recently released, unemployed prisoners and felons out with no bail. Across the metropolitan area, in some cases including within steps of their tents and sleeping bags, are multi-story parking structures, warehouses, office buildings, stores, restaurants and hotels containing billions of dollars worth of furniture, modern office equipment, and electronics of every description. Some may have a security guard. What could possibly go wrong?

Some bean counter who hasn't been to a beach since he was 8 probably imagined being sued by the family of a lifeguard who died from covid-19 after administering mouth-to-mouth resuscitation on a surfer just rescued from the water...

Double ditto #12. I am here in Houston and by some slight of had (gerrymandering) my rep is Sheila Moron Lee. OK I got 1 vote there, good luck to me but I'll cast it. I guarantee though that I will be paying attention to the other names down ticket. Maybe hitting a few town halls to make them a bit uncomfortable. Please everybody remember this isn't JUST a presidential election. 6 months to do a bit of homework.

Did those commie demonrats pass a law requiring arrests? If not, then actions taken to arrest people are invalid and any Governor's order on this is illegal. Well CA, how do you like living under demonrats jackboots now?
