RUSH: I need to do something here I have been intending to discuss for a couple of days and it keeps getting pushed aside as stories with a higher proprietor continue to surface.(Snip)Professor Bartholet decided to weigh in on the coronavirus in an article for Harvard magazine. She is worried about your children being homeschooled by you, the parents. She is worried about your children being forced into lockdown with their parents, with you all day, every day. This is unacceptable to Elizabeth Bartholet of Harvard’s child advocacy program. This is a huge, huge problem that parents have this kind of access to their children
This woman is ignorant and infuriating--I'm sure she's proud of being both.
We homeschooled our children all the way through. Both graduated from a Christian college, have degrees in Information Systems (computer stuff), and a fine upstanding taxpayers here in Tax-Afornia.
I'd like to say what I really think of her, but I'm a polite and God-fearing person. So, she may be a profess-er of intelligence, but I beg to differ with her greatly. A degree does not a wise person make.

Sounds like she is afraid of the truth being taught through History and English Classics, and economics and civics, etc. Can't have that. It would spoil her idea of a Socialist America.

In a long past, and at times, better age than we live in now, Bartholet would have been beaten to death before she could procreate.

Hey with homeschooling, at least the kids won't be forced to listen to drag queen story time, learning how to put a condom on a hot dog, how great socialism is, lesbianism and gayness is normal, and PP is good for women's health...

Wasn't this professor in the news a couple of weeks back ? Look lady, they had them and they should be confined with them. Might be a good form of birth control.

The children are missing out on tranny story time complete with twerking and other "essential" leftist propaganda. The idiots didn't think of this when they shut down the country.

Many of us understand her thinking. During the school year, parents send their kids off to school, where they are indoctrinated on a daily basis, and spoon fed the information that the left wants their children to receive. It is all accepted by these kids as factual, as why would teachers, textbooks, or school administrators ever lie, right? /s During the summer, kids don't go to school, and the parents generally don't make the kids red or do anything that might interfere with their otherwise idyllic summer lifestyle. Now that kids are home, and their parents are homeschooling, the parents are seeing some of the textual information that the schools have been feeding their sweet little innocent children, and they're saying that the information in the texts, on the internet, on the network news, is not only not true, but in many cases blatant lies. This is a huge threat to the left, as the kids that they so want to program, are being de-programmed, and they're actually learning the truth; at least from those who are not already brain-dead brainwashed liberals. That's why the Hahvuhd professor is nervous about the "authoritarian" manner of homeschooling. She sees the writing on the wall and wants to head off the change before it has a chance to blossom.

The left's top targets for eradication- Faith, Family, Freedom, Private Property.
Everything that liberals say and do is focused on eradicating these fundamentals.

Professor Bartholet questions whether parents should have 24/7 authoritarian control over their children from birth to 18 years of age. She believes it is “dangerous to put powerful people in charge of the powerless.” As Rush put it in his inimitable way, “Well, what the hell is turning ‘em loose at school all about?” Plainly speaking, as if teachers and administrators are not authoritarians, and students not powerless, Rush doesn’t know the definition of power and powerless. Rush concludes, what you may have taught your children may be something Professor Bartholet would have to try to erase from their minds--parents are dangerous.
