Don't be surprised if some people mistake COVID-19 outbreak maps with those election outcome maps. The virus has killed more than 46,000 Americans and is expected to claim 20,000 more by August. But it’s hitting certain areas far harder than others.
Of the 10 states with the highest number of deaths per 100,000 residents, only two voted for President Donald Trump in 2016, and one of those was Michigan, which had been voting Democratic until Trump flipped it.
At the other end of the spectrum, of the 10 states with the lowest death rates, only one (Hawaii) voted for Hillary

Corona Virus will accelerate many current trends. The European Union and a Unified China are two groups that were already headed for a breakdown. Neither of them will survive in its current form.
And, there will be a great winnowing in Colleges and Universities.

After this thing is over and the economy has recovered, this pandemic will be in the rearview mirror and any lessons forgotten. Liberals will be back to demanding more public transportation and high density living and ever more federal spending.
In fact, ill predict that after demanding the economic shutdown and demanding that it be extended another 6-18 months, liberals will blame Trump for the economic wreckage.

The fact CV19 hits blue areas more reminds of this wisdom:
The severity of CV19 depends on two distinct factors: (1) the density of the population in the area and (2) the density of the population in the area.
(Hint: if you don’t catch this, one of the above may apply.)

we shall become as corrupt as Europe"--------Thomas Jefferson
But what did he know he owned slaves so he must have been wrong.

Those New Yorkers who are still able to reason, will likely conclude that their demise was due to living in a petri dish where you have to take subways or cabs where multiple other people have been. Less people got sick in Houston, where everyone gets in their own truck to go to work, and many never get into an elevator once they get to work.

If you’re going to flee your blue state, I have only one request...
Leave your blue politics there when you go. If you can’t do that, then stay there.

Democrat voters skew heavily to minority voters, who are heavier and have high incidences of hypertension, diabetes and asthma. Mix in lots of public transportation and crowding and there you have it.

At the risk of going off topic, could be the reason why the CV19 is less of a problem in Hawaii is viruses don't like hot humid weather. So I hope when summer gets here I can watch the news for 2 minutes without another story on the WuHuFlu.

We got a contract on our house right before the shutdown. Hopefully we will be closing in a week or so. We still have aging family in the area so we will rent for now.

The problem is, the blue state people come to the red states and continue to spread their democrat plague with them. If you want to move out of the tyranny of the blue states, fine, just leave your voting habits behind.

#2, given their serious derangement and cognitive dissonance where politics is concerned, neither they or their descendants for at least 10 generations should be allowed the franchise in a non-leftard state. Of course, I don't support one-warm-body, one-vote either. Or bureaucrats/government 'workers' voting for their elected managers, Or politicians voting for their own pay packages and benefits, either.

Time for a remake of "Escape from New York." I think Kurt Russel could still pull it off.

Indeed #11. I quit watching the local "news" weeks ago. 90% or more of their stories are centered on the plague. I reached saturation on the issue before the end of March.

I don't believe the number 46,00 for a second. I always thought the revolution would split the country at the Mississippi. I now believe it will be bloodless and give us 3 new countries. California, Oregon and Washington in the west. New England, PA, Delaware, Maryland in the East. The good guys get the rest of the current country.

As long as the participants in the Exodus are Republicans. Democrats who voted greedy, corrupt and incompetent losers into office please stay where you are and live with what you have done. It is YOUR debt that is strangling you.

I live in a Red state and I want to keep it that way. Democrats stay in New York. We don't want you to screw up our state like you did your own.
