The move to reopen beaches has so far been a good one, Jacksonville Beach, Florida, Mayor Charlie Latham said Monday.
“There is [sic] a lot of people that are upset that we’ve opened, but we’re not requiring anybody to go to the beach,” the mayor said during an interview on Fox & Friends.
He continued:
We’re making the beach available as long as they meet various strict compliance requirements and so far citizens have done that, our visitors have done that so right now we believe it’s a good decision. If things were to change, we could certainly shut it down in just a very short period of time if we need to.

And, leftists are freaking out over getting back to normal. What is wrong with people? They think we're crazy for wanting to return to life and not continue this weird existence of being afraid of a virus. What has happened to America and Americans?

“Science“ has been all over the place on this little exercise called COVID-19, lots of theories, models, opinions. Very few definitives! But numbers don’t lie, and there is absolutely NO justification for what has taken place. We all fell into line with the do’s and don’t’s, and now we act like these mayors have done us a big favor by giving us a few hours on the beach ... still with strict, silly regulations! We will be months and months tiptoeing around with countless new rules, some of which will no doubt become permanent!

There is more traffic in my home town, and more people are out on the street walking (the mayor has closed the parks). The weather is warmer, our local hospitals have no covid cases and I look for the governor to open up soon. We are more than ready.

I fail to understand how towels and beach chairs help the virus but maybe I'm not as scientific as the mayor. I assume they don't want anybody to get too comfortable out there. Is sunscreen required?

A day at the spa. Warm sea breezes and salty ocean water what's healthier than that.

It's a start. But still the dictatorial no blankets or chairs or whatever. Either open the beaches or don't. This to me is even somehow worse. Just letting the populous do little things. First you can walk or run on the beach. And then if you behave well, we might, just might let you sit on the beach. And then if you do that okay, we might, just might let you have coolers.
The madness continues. The numbers of this thing no longer support the draconian measures. I even heard one talking head last night say it is beginning to look as if Fauci and the Scarf Queen have made a big, big error. Ya think?

My favorite part of his interview was when he said “We are not requiring anybody to go to the beach.” LOL Take that you busy bodies who have a problem with this.

No explanation for the 'no towels, no chairs'. diktat. I'd like to know which expert decided that.
Maybe Its just to remind beach goers who is still in charge.

Warm weather is setting in here. This needed to happen officially or it would have happened "unofficially." People are cooperating with the SD requirements and jogging, walking dogs, etc. I'm waiting for when chairs are allowed again and then I'm going too.
