The former mayor of a Northern Californian city who stepped down after he harshly criticized President Donald Trump and his supporters, died Saturday in a plane crash, the Sacramento Bee reported. Dr. Bill Kirby, who was the mayor of Auburn, died in the crash Saturday morning near the Auburn Municipal Airport, (Snip)Kirby gained notoriety last week after social media posts criticizing Trump’s response to the coronavirus pandemic and comparing the president’s supporters to KKK members. Kirby’s posts and statements created an outcry and calls for his recall.
He told the Auburn Journal a week ago that his Facebook posts were made on a personal page

had he offered alternative responses to the Kung Flu? Did he criticize Nancy Pelosi for her attempt to pimp out Chinatown not long ago?
Did hye attack Wilhelm Warren, the mayor of NYC, for the attempts to pimp out Chinese New Year parade? How about the Chinese woman who is NYC Health Commissioner, who also pimped out the NYc celebration of the chinese New Year?

My great grandfather came to NJ from Ireland in 1860. The town he settled in had no Catholic Church., so they built one. The KKK would come at night and threw the bricks into a nearby creek. That creek is where "Jaws" origin happened. My grandfather was given the duty to stand guard over the building materials. The KKK did not even want Catholics able to worship. MAGA!

OK. Somebody’s got to say it. He was obviously an educated man who didn’t understand his own limitations. Pride goeth before a fall. Sometimes that fall is at 100 MPH.

What is it about doctors and planes? Has anyone else noticed that when these small planes crash, they're often piloted by doctors?

A doctor friend of mine once told me about some doctors facination with planes.
You want to get somewhere fast, a private plane is a quick way to do it. Some doctors have the money, like toys, buy a plane and get a license.
One day, they want to go somewhere fast. But it's not a day that inexperienced pilots should be flying. But I wanna go! I wanna go! So they go and find out too late that they shoulda stayed home.
As the old saying goes, the pilot is usually the first person to get to the crash site.

A Bonanza V tail is sometimes referred to as a "doctor killer." Sometimes you get too much plane for your skills and experience.

#19 John Denver was not flying a plane. He was in a lawn chair with a lawn mower motor. The other three were stupidly doing something they were not qualified to do.

John Denver was flying an experimental airplane whose fuel tank valves were notoriously difficult for the pilot to reach when flying. He exhausted his fuel and stalled into the (cold!) waters of Monterrey Bay.

#8, looking at the badly burned wreckage, difficult to be sure. Definitely an aluminum skin high wing, I am guessing a Cessna 172, but uncertain. Could be 150/152, too.

Dr. Kirby appears to be one of those elitist liberals in California ignoring the "shelter in place", and safe distancing restriction that were ordered by Nancy Pelosi's nephew Governor Gavin Nuisance? Kirby was piloting the Cessna Turbo 206 when he angered in. Now who's covered with a white sheet doc?

Arcancide because he quit rather than continue with the demonrat propaganda? This penalty is getting to be pretty routine now if you quit the plantation.

#22, your "facts" are entirely false.
John Denver was flying a two seat aircraft with a 170 mph cruising speed, over 1200 miles range and powered by a standard aircraft engine.
I have the same model aircraft, and have 1000 hours flying it, have flown from KC to eastern Va or central Fla one one fuel tank a number of times.
If the crash aircraft was a TurboStationaire, he may possiblt have had the same problem that many pilots who are well off financially and a bit arrogant often have. They can afford to own a more complex and difficult to fly aircraft than their new skills, and often self overrated skills, will permit them to safely fly.
Turbocharged aircraft engines can be easily mishandled by inexperienced pilots, and can be destroyed by overboosting or mixture errors in a few seconds. Takeoff is the most stressful condition for aircraft engines, but it is also where something simple like water contamination of the fuel would show up and can cause an engine failure.
Way too early to know what happened.

#23, closer, but the fuel selector valve is normally located between you knees, easy to reach.
Denver's particular aircraft had the fuel selector relocated to the left shoulder area, very difficult to reach. After the engine quit because he ran one tank dry - extremely poor fuel management, he was presumably reaching over his left shoulder with his right hand, which would normally be on the control stick, which is on the right console. I have tried this reach in my plane and iist very difficult, and the body twisting naturally has you pushing with your right foot to get there. The seat is semireclining. Pushing the right rudder inadvertantly will roll the aircraft, and with hand off of the stick and looking over his left shoulder, he apparently rolled the aircraft and hit the water.
