A city in California has ordered the shutdown of a “birth-tourism” motel that specifically catered to pregnant Chinese women who travel to the United States to deliver babies and earn them citizenship.Council members in the city of Orange voted unanimously to revoke the JR Motel’s conditional use permit on Thursday and ordered them to shut down by the end of the month. The JR Motel does not rent rooms to the public, instead, they only cater to wealthy Chinese families who travel to the states to give birth and take advantage of America’s birthright citizenship.

It existed because no one paid attention.
It doesn’t say whether the Chinese owner bought the motel as a business employing at least 10 staffers in a depressed location. That designation was, at least for a while, gaining virtually automatic green cards for someone like this owner. His failure to comply with a number of local regulations leads me to believe that motel ownership became his business - he’d have had to invest $500K, not difficult in our market.
The article goes on to talk about cracking down that has occurred, jail sentences, at least one self-deportation. But how much of this is going on in private homes is a question mark.

The conditional use permit would have permitted only longer term tenancy as opposed to operation like a regular hotel or motel. It would not have permitted what this guy used it for.

Chinese know as does everyone else, that money talks, BS walks. A motel like this exists because people value money over their country. Just like large companies value money over producing products and employing workers in this country.

RACISM!
What's next, a shutdown of all CHINESE RESTAURANTS in town?
I can hardly wait for CNN, MSNBC and their fellow identity politics diversity monitors to jump on this OUTRAGEOUS RACIST OUTRAGE with both feet.

Money. Money to motivate some sleazeballs at the local, state and Federal levels. Corrupt foreign thugs continue to marvel at how stupid, easily bought and self destructive, so many of our 'leaders' are. Of course they are usually just lying, pandering rats. The real problem are the many worthless American citizens who vote them into office and then keep them there.

The birth/citizenship law is antiquated and no longer relevant. It needs to be eliminated. It was written to make sure that slaves and their children were guaranteed citizenship. It no longer serves that purpose and must be repealed. At least one parent should be a citizen before a child born here is granted citizenship.

#8, judges can't make 'law' - and the whole 'anchor baby' nonsense is from a judge's opinion, not the law, nor was the law 'interpreted' to have 'anchor babies' until the scum-bag leftard 'judge' decided his incorrect legal 'opinion' should be the way things should be - and nobody in the uni-party slapped him down.

It existed because in California our leaders politicians lawmakers only enforce the laws they deem practical to their philosophy on life. Skirting immigration laws is one of them. This time someone is enforcing the law. How long this will last is anyone's guess. But for sure the pregnant Chinese ladies will move on to another city.

I, an ex Canadian engineer went through 4 or 5 years of applications, medical exams, photos and fingerprints, civics exam (PS I nailed it). Love that constitution. My grandfather was born in Vermont. My father was a US citizen but passed away before I moved here. Technicalities dictated that I go to square 1 and the process. If I had paid a woman to marry me and so forth I would not have made it. Surely there is some way to determine whether somebody is a natural born citizen or a Chinese etc etc tool.

No already pregnant woman should arrive in the US expecting to have their unborn child automatically a US citizen. A woman should have to live here for 10 months before she has a child that is considered a citizen.

Some Chinese are more equal than others. Some Chinese have enough money to have American offspring.

It's only a temporary shut down because Chinese flights have been shut down including the path from Europe. It'll be up an running full bore again once the airlines are back in business.
