Who Will Get Blamed If
Coronavirus Shutdown Turns Out
To Be A Massive Overreaction?

Original Article

As the Trump administration tries to figure out when to reopen the economy, and Democrats try to blame President Donald Trump for every coronavirus death, there’s another question lurking in the background. What if we learn that trillions of dollars in economic costs from the coronavirus shutdown bought us little or nothing in terms of public health? As the disease progresses and our understanding of it increases, that possibility grows. Consider these facts: Death projections were wildly exaggerated. On March 16, epidemiologists at Imperial College London predicted that 2.2 million could die here if the country didn’t impose draconian lock-down

We ALL know who will get the blame. TRUMP will be blamed for getting "scared" and for "panicking" and causing everyone else IN THE WHOLE WORLD to panic. That's as deeply as the Dims and the media are able to "think".

People will die from corona19 when we reopen. People are dying now from being locked up. People are refusing to risk going to the hospital when they have chest pains. People are not getting a cancer diagnosis, and not starting on life saving treatment. My cousin's much needed kidney transplant was put on hold until June, and that is only when they will begin to work again to make a match circle of families trading kidneys. People are being attacked by an abusive spouse or parent in their home, with no teacher to observe the signs. People are closer to considering suicide than ever before.

The governors and local politicians deserve much of the blame for the massive overreaction and shutdowns.. Alongside them are the longtime bureaucrats in the federal government such at the FDA, CDC, and NIH that are incompetent scare mongers and aren't doing the job they are generously paid to do. All these officials have done grievous harm to our country that will last for years.

You can tell, inch by inch, Fauci and the Scarf Queen are trying to box President Trump in. Fauci has said he won't be satisfied until there are zero cases. We can't shut down America forever and hide under the bed. The expectations for testing are totally unreasonable (beyond belief). I own a small diagnostic company and can tell you how difficult this would be, just in raw materials alone. Democrats would have you test everyone, every day. The efforts to get rid of President Trump are woven into all of this. We must stay strong, while being smart at the same time.

Those of us who work with numbers for a living and have had the courage to spit into the winds of public opinion (as expressed by the ignorant lemmings) have been saying from the get-go that the response has been overblown. Yes, this is a contagious virus. yes, there are highly at risk demographic groups we need to take special care of. But this mass shutdown and total disruption of our economy and our lives was never in order. And someone needs to pay a dear price for it. Three guesses who...

Reality Check - because of the lies and iron fist responses by the Chinese Communist Party, we had no idea what the true mortality rate of this virus was. (In truth we still don't know what it is.) So, we had to plan for the worst and hope for the best. 6 weeks ago when I predicted that the TOP end mortality rate from COVID-19 would be 200,000 American deaths, people believed I was crazily optimistic. It turns out that I was not. But, some of the numbers coming out of medical modelers are just crazy. The idea that the majority of the country has already had COVID-19 has no basis in the testing. Here in NC we are still only getting positive results from 14% of those tested. If there was a vast undiagnosed epidemic, those numbers would have to be over 50%.

This is one of those 'unknowns' the media likes to talk about regarding CV? How many more people would have died if we hadn't locked down the country? We don't really know, other than there would definitely have been more deaths. Even Trump stated this during his press briefing. He was stating the obvious. The question is what do we have to do to prevent this from ever happening again? We cannot afford a lock down every time another bug pops up. Agree that the lying media will blame Trump. First they said he did not do enough and caused 20k deaths. Now they will say he over reacted and caused a panic. The media will happily contradict themselves to score points against Trump. They are incoherent.

This country is about 50% totally taken into snowflake mode. As great as we once were we are witnessing the total pussyification of the nation. Precaution was needed but shut down was unnecessary. Monies spent for what? National debt rising to solve what? The democrats and their media pounced on this to get to the President...again. It's a good thing we weren't physically attacked by China like a Pearl Harbor incident because the left would have us surrendering on the first day. We have a nation of cowards that will never be up to the standards of the 'greatest generation' of WWII. I have faith in President Trump as he fights for us everyday but after the election I want to see four years of scorched earth by the President. Things need to be different and we need come out of the grip of hatred from the media and the left. China needs to pay for this. Let them make carnival trinkets and Nike shoes but not our medicines and other vital products.

Lack of preparation is usually followed by over-reaction. Nobody in the world was prepared for this because data/critical information was withheld for who knows how long. I'm not gonna believe in a million years that at this point the Chinese don't know EXACTLY what caused this and how it spread. What they're doing now is carefully controlling the news---quietly wiping all servers ("like with a cloth?") and removing any traces of incriminating data.

#22, there is no evidence that there were any of these bats being sold in that Wuhan market. The bat's nearest home range is 1,000 miles away. Bats were imported to the Wuhan Institute of Virology to study bat viruses, hard fact. There are published research papers from the WIV about studying bat corona viruses. I am convinced that the virus was released from the WIV, probably accidentally by incompetents. The "wet market" story is a ChiCom cover story to deflect away from their typical Communist incompetence.

A couple of days ago(?) regarding 'opening up the economy', President Trump proclaimed "I HAVE THE POWER!" Of course the Leftist Media IMMEDIATELY opposed him, proclaiming "THE GOVERNOR OF EACH STATE HAS THE POWER!" So, President Trump works with the governors, but the DECISION is UP TO EACH GOVERNOR, and the Media have already proclaimed that THAT is the correct action. So, the restrictions in each state will ease, at that state's Governor's direction. People will go about, and go back to work. Some people will catch the bug and die... no getting around that. But NOW it is -with the Media supporting it- EACH GOVERNOR'S DECISION. It's going to be hard for the Media to twist themselves into the pretzel necessary for them to 'BLAME TRUMP!". Well handled, President Trump!

I blame the ruling class and their media, the elites, academic pinheads, and China, for creating needless panic and for pushing a one size fits all lockdown that ignores reality. Shut down NYC, Seattle and LA and there go 90% of the cases. Why were remote mountain villages locked down? Why were people stopped from going fishing alone? To keep the fish from getting infected? This is the most sinister, cynical abuse of power since Mao's Cultural Revolution. And it is obvious it was created to destroy President Trump and the US economy. My hatred for liberalism and for the elites is white hot.

Last summer, fed up with Democrats’ claim that theirs is the “Party of Science,” we pointed out that it is in reality the Party of Science Fiction. We hope others have had their fill, too, and public opinion will force the Democrats to grow up. “Science” is never invoked by the political left to illuminate, educate, or guide. It’s used to terminate discussion, to shut down debate. It’s employed in exactly the same way “racist” has been used for decades. We are hard-pressed to identify a single redeeming feature in the 600-page “stimulus” bill that has now passed the Senate and House on a strict party-line vote. You’ve got to hand it to AOC and Bernie. These nutcases actually pulled it off! Some of our friends point to the dollars for vaccine distribution. We don’t object to that, though if we simply let the private sector handle the vaccine program, odds are it would happen faster. The other $1.7 trillion is negative for the economy and jobs. There is nothing in this bill that stimulates the supply side of the economy -- i.e., the production of goods and services.

President Joe Biden wasn’t too happy when Texas and Mississippi decided to reopen their economies and liberate their people from statewide mask mandates, calling it “Neanderthal thinking.” But wait a minute, who’s following the science here, and who isn’t? While Biden is clearly in love with the idea of the government forcing Americans to wear masks and keeping heavy restrictions on businesses, the science is piling up showing that these measures are not very effective, if they are at all. One Swiss group, for example, found 10 studies challenging the effectiveness of masks. One is a Danish review that compared
