A significant constitutional legal battle, under the radar for the past two weeks, has now emerged into the open. On April 2, an obscure Washington state group, WASHLITE, filed a lawsuit in the Superior Court of Washington against Fox News and several additional media defendants. Among other demands, WASHLITE (Washington League for Increased Transparency and Ethics, a non-profit corporation) is asking that the court, in the words of Times of San Diego which broke the story on April 2, “keep the cable network from airing false information about the [coronavirus] pandemic.”
WASHLITE’s 10-page legal complaint alleges that Fox News broadcast false reporting about the coronavirus

This could backfire big time. It could bring out all the 'news' that the left media has been using against Trump, by comparison.

Obviously, Fox should at least be reprimanded for being inconsistent with Major Media. Draw a jury from the Washington coastline and Fox is toast. This has Supreme Court written all over it. Or the trash bin.

WASHLITE and similar activists want the synthetic reality they have constructed to be the only thing heard in the land. Now where have we seen this before.

CNN, MSNBC and the entire MSM have been lying about all things Trump ever since he was nominated. Someone should sue them .

In a sane state, the judge would just roll his eyes and say, “Next case” while throwing this one in the trash.

Noticed that our local TV station changed their Trump coverage after he came out breathing fire. Instead of carrying it live, they said they will livestream it from their Facebook homepage and people could watch it there if they so desired.
Our media is useless folks.

Just in case you missed it, they are coming after the whole bloody bill of rights and the constitution they rode in on.
They are coming after the the entire concept of unalienable rights, natural rights, defining what cannot be taken from you or imposed upon you by other people including government. They are replacing these "negative rights" with "positive rights" defining what other people must provide for you facilitated by government.
This is the dismantling of the American Revolution rendering the sacrifice of all who fought and bled to create, reset and sustain it, to have been in vain. This is a return to the predominant form of government since the dawn of civilization where power resides at the top and the common people are nothing but human livestock.
History has no shortage of examples of promises made to the little people, to the workers offering power to the people, but has only rare examples of where the common people actually thrived and one example to the extent where common and downtrodden people from all around the globe flocked to share in the glory of freedom and individual liberty. That's what they are after.

The MSM has been manipulating the facts since the 1960's! Remember Cronkite and his reporting on Vietnam? We walked away from a winnable war and let many of our sons die for nothing thanks to him.
WHATEVER A LIBERAL ACCUSES YOU OF DOING, THEY THEMSELVES ARE DOING IT.

Yes that’s rational: have a judge determine The Truth for the entire nation.
Let’s litigate God and Santa Clause while we’re at it.

This is hilarious. If "false reporting" was a legal matter, CNN, MSNBC and all of the other alphabets would have been sued several years ago. It will take some time and effort to prove that this overblown flu WASN'T a hoax.

The term "fake news" implies that the Demos and media are reporting things that aren't true. That's not exactly correct. They are VERY careful that what they report is accurate. The PROBLEM is they can and DO manipulate, distort and control the news by NOT reporting things. They can't be sued for something they DIDN'T report. It's their little game and it's been going on for years.

If they find an activist judge to rule in their favor, he would quickly be overturned. The sad thing is, activist judges never seem to be embarrassed by their junk rulings!

The question is: who gets to decide what is "true"?
The MSM is repeatedly proven false: Russia, Covington kids, etc.

major flaw in their reasoning:
The first amendment protects all speech, not just true speech so even if they can prove (doubtful) that every statement out of every Fox pundits mouth is 100% verifiable false beyond any reasonable doubt, its still protected.

Their dead prophet Cronkite would intone, ''And there you have it.'' WASHLITE only wants to hear from other false prophets like NYT, NBC, CBS, CNN, ABC and their metoo acolytes. May you get what you want, and want it after you get it.

Well don't tell them METV carries the briefings. I didn't realize that's what I was watching until I changed the channel. Legally, they can't really stop him.
