He practiced what he preached — then he died of coronavirus. An evangelical pastor died of COVID-19 just weeks after proudly showing off how packed his Virginia church was — and vowing to keep preaching “unless I’m in jail or the hospital.” In his last known in-person service on March 22, Bishop Gerald O. Glenn got his congregation at Richmond’s New Deliverance Evangelistic Church to stand to prove how many were there despite warnings against gatherings of more than 10 people.

Regardless, he'll be blessed for his faith.

People wonder why the rate of black deaths is so high. As well as often being in urban settings crowded together and having underlying medical conditions, it seems to me to be also a cultural thing, extended families, big gatherings, parties, etc. that they can't give up.

His daughter said he had a "condition" where is got fevers and was sick a lot.
He may have needed to be more careful.
RIP and God bless him and his family.

I guess "stupid" can be more powerful than "faith."

His daughter says he paid no attention to his symptoms because he has a condition “that often leads to fevers and infections”…..

There's a thin line between 'brave' and 'foolish'. This was more than foolish, and I wonder how many of his congregation may have become contagious or infected. God rest His servant's heart and bless his soul, nonetheless.

Glenn was old and chronically sick, yet did not fear death from the flu. As it happens he did die from the flu, probably because he was already at high risk.
He chose to keep the faith instead of cowering at home in the hope of a few more years on this Earth. Lay off him, people.

"Everybody wants to go to heaven but nobody wants to die!"
And, fellow pilgrims, of what use is a locked church?
And, fellow pilgrims, of what use is cowering in place?
And, fellow pilgrims, where is God in all this?
And, fellow pilgrims, where are the godless in all this?
And, fellow pilgrims, of what use is Hydroxychloroquine, Z Pak and Zinc?
And, fellow pilgrims, just how many out there in Chi-Chom Plague land do not want a prophylactic against the ChiCom Plague, do not want a cure against the Chi-Com Plague and why is that fellow pilgrims?
And, exactly what is Bishop Gerald O. Glenn to us? Well,
Bishop Gerald O. Glenn threw himself into the "arms" of God as martyr of The Chi-Com Police State, no ifs, ands or buts;
Bishop Gerald O. Glenn was a man who saw beyond the Police State;
Bishop Gerald O. Glenn was not waiting on a cure;
Bishop Gerald O. Glenn was not waiting on a vaccine;
Bishop Gerald O. Glenn was waiting on God;
Bishop Gerald O. Glenn was serving God, no matter what;
Bishop Gerald O. Glenn set the example for how to die:
Fly to eternity serving God even if the appearance is that God was not in it and did not sustain him. No matter.
Of what use is the locked Church? Of what use is a "virtual Church"? Of what use is virtual commitment to God, a virtual faith?
Bishop Gerald O. Glenn's apparent lost life answers.
What, fellow pilgrim, are we hearing?

God took him. However, it doesn’t mean that our American-grown fascists are justified in stomping on the 1st Amendment and the Constitution.

The good bishop will get no wagging finger from me. Perhaps he rather wanted to die on his feet, than live on his knees. You don’t light a candle and hide it under a bushel basket. Having faith does not mean it’s going to turn out well, it just means putting oneself in God’s hands, whatever the outcome. No one dies before his/her/its time. No one. Thanks for the courage to stand up to government oppression, Bishop Glenn. You put the shutdown cowards to shame. And, btw, how do we know he actually died from COVID-19? With all the skullduggery on statistics these days, I don’t believe a word anyone tells me on this.

Out of curiosity, do we know for sure if this indiviual had the flu, or a community acquired pneumonia, the outcome would be different? Is this individual immune for other diseases and only COVID can kill him? He had a 'condidtion'. Well, lots of people have 'conditions' and get an infection and die. Is he unique is some fashion we don't know?

#15, you claim this a "right to life" issue. Could not that same argument be made EVERY winter, as the flu rages and takes tens of thousands of lives? Why is it different this time? Because "Caesar" orders it so? What if Caesar orders us to shelter in place every year? Will you meekly submit?

Here we go again, with people so quick to surrender their rights and the rights of others.
My rights dont end anywhere. Yours dont either. Anything else is the talk of slaves.
This guy took his chances. His congregants were free to come there or not. He died like a man. Will the rest of us be able to say the same?

Leftist will rejoice in this mans death and ridicule him as simple, ignorant, egotistical, or selfish. It is their way.
We do not know what purpose this man's death will serve but God does. I will leave it in His hands. I suggest you all do the same.

No one was forced to attend his services, and he wasn't forced to preach. He CHOSE to preach and some of his parishioners CHOSE to attend his services. I will not condemn either.

So he had some sort of underlying condition. That is why the death rate is as high as it is, they count all these people who die with underlying conditions as a coronavirus death. Not everyone who gets the virus dies. I am beginning to think, they are actually dying from the underlying condition and not the virus.
