A bipartisan pair of senators introduced legislation on Friday that would require President Trump to appoint a global health coordinator and create an inter-agency council charged with preparing for pandemics. The bill, from Sens. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) and Mitt Romney (R-Utah), comes after the White House garnered criticism in the midst of the coronavirus for a 2018 decision to disband the National Security Council's global health unit, a decision former national security adviser John Bolton characterized as a "streamlining."

Pierre, please keep your new world order schtick to yourself. We see right through your weak attempt to globalize us. Utah, get rid of this joke of a senator.

I have an idea that Mitten's election to the Senate didn't make him the star he thought it would and he does this stupid stuff to try to raise his profile. He's not helping himself with Republicans, so his target must be the MSM.

One senator who stabs Trump in the back whenever he can is Murphy from Connecticut. Figures Romney would pal with him. Disgusting as Romney always is ... nothing he does surprises me... low life creep..

Romney is hard at work to create his “man of ideas and action” to serve as the basis of his likely independent “moderate” campaign for President 2020.

Remember when some of us warned that there are times when a Democrat would do less damage? This is the kind of stuff we were talking about. Between voting as a Republican to convict our President of specious non-crimes, and playing his Never Trump cards on every political poker hand, Mitt Romney is far more destructive than a rank and file Democrat voting in lock step. I would rather have an enemy in front of my than a traitor behind me.
I suggest we follow the approach that the late William F. Buckley Jr. adopted towards an awful Republican Senator named Lowell Weicker. Buckley formed a Political Action Committee called BuckPAC dedicated to the singular purpose of removing Lowell Weicker from office. One of BuckPAC's formal resolutions declared that "Lowell Weicker is the Number One Horse’s *** in the Senate.”
In that spirit, I formally propose that we hereby resolve that "Mitt Romney is Number Two."

Must add that Murphy is not only seriously sub par as "my" senator but he has skated on the edge of collaboration with the enemy along with John Kerry, and why the two have not been nailed for the Logan Act is beyond me, probably because the Virus is taking up all the oxygen in the room.

Not surprising these two would pair up. We all know about Romney but keep an eye out on Murphy. He is truly dangerous, too and is all about making a name for himself.

Just what we need. More rules restricting American freedoms. That's really what this is all about. If there were ever to be a dictatorial takeover in America, it would look much like what we have seen in the last month. Only difference is we are doing it in the name of public safety.
We weren't prepared? How does one prepare for something they never seen before. For crying out loud, we are comparing CV19 to a pandemic that occurred over a century ago.
All things considered Trump has handled this well. If anything, we over-reacted.

This is all govt ever does - spend money and create more govt. It's all they know how to do. Every crisis requires more govt. A new agency, new director, vice-director, administrators, employees to implement, office space, computers, office supplies, salaries, weekends/holidays off, vacation time, personal time, pensions, health care - and that's before anyone gets a govt paid aspirin for a headache.
We already have the:
Dept of HHS
The CDC
Administration for Children and Families
AIDS.gov
CDC National STD Hotline
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
Child Welfare Information Gateway
Food and Drug Administration
National Health Information Center
National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases
National Institutes of Health
Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality
Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services
Health Resources and Services Administration
Indian Health Service
Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration
Administration for Community Living
Office of Minority Health
National Cancer Institute
President's Council on Fitness, Sports and Nutrition
Office for Civil Rights, Department of Health and Human Services
By all means, let's create another govt agency. Yep, that's what's missing in this equation.....
